Infected at the start and exiled to the City of Strange Species.
Octopus extended its tentacles: What is this? Let's suck it!
Goat extended its hooves: What is this? Let's suck ...
Gu Li had just entered her input option when there was a knock on the door. Without even looking at the reply on her computer, she went to the door.
"Click".
The woman standing at the door was her neighbor, Aunt Wang, who was smiling broadly at her. Gu Li subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Aunt Wang."
Aunt Wang: "Oh my, I never expected Lili to have such friends. How could you just disappear like that? Your friends have come knocking on your door!"
Gu Li was startled, and belatedly looked behind Aunt Wang at the tall figure that had been subconsciously ignored since earlier.
The pale-skinned, dark-eyed youth looked over at the same time.
Seeing Gu Li's stiff expression, he then put on a wronged look.
Gu Li was getting a little exasperated: What are you so upset about?! I know...
Suddenly, an image flashed through his mind of a young man emerging from the darkness, his eyes fixed intently on him, and then, in the next instant, he was on a turbulent sea, reaching out his hand to him.
"Smack!"
Gu Li slapped his forehead, scattering all the non-existent memories, and reiterated once again: "I definitely don't know you, right? Can you please stay away from me?"
Seeing that things were not going well, Aunt Wang quickly made her escape, leaving only the two of them facing off.
He Shiyi's brows drooped in disappointment. Just as he was about to say something, something seemed to fly out from the side, only to be instantly swatted away by a tentacle that suddenly appeared behind him.
Gu Li: ...
With a cold expression, she suppressed the urge to wipe her eyes and gripped the doorknob: "Anyway..."
He Shiyi: "Watch out!"
He suddenly lunged forward, shielding Gu Li behind him, and in an instant, a vast expanse of black shadows stretched out from all around Gu Li.
She seemed to hear something wailing, extremely sharp and tragic.
It doesn't sound like...a sound that a human or animal could make.
Gu Li was held tightly in his arms, her expression blank for a moment, and the images that occasionally flashed through her mind were extremely magnificent, as if she were looking down from thousands of meters in the sky.
Countless high-tech aerial tracks accompanied a giant electronic screen in the sky, continuously displaying a woman's face.
Is this really not her memory?
The more bizarre the story, the more it makes people want to believe it.
After an unknown amount of time, the noise above finally subsided, and He Shiyi's voice came from in front of him, accompanied by a slight tremor in his chest.
"alright."
She opened her eyes, and the strange flesh and tentacles that had enveloped them gradually retreated. Although she knew it was inappropriate, Gu Li still glanced at his empty back.
Gu Li composed herself and looked around the room: "Thank you..."
My computer?!?!?!
Tears welled up in her eyes instantly: "I haven't saved my game yet!!"
Gu Li knelt on the computer case that had been pierced through the middle, frantically pressing the power button.
He Shiyi's voice was somewhat subtle: "The game you're talking about, is that the one you mean?"
Gu Li: ?
Upon hearing this, she looked over and saw the monitor that had been knocked away lying upside down on the desk. The computer screen flickered a few times, and then the scene before she left the computer desk appeared.
The player, who had deliberately set an image close to his current self, was arrogantly stepping on the huge monster, while the pale-faced youth lay amidst the twisted, dark flesh.
It was as if it were the embodiment of darkness.
His dark eyes looked at the player: "If that's what you're asking for."
He paused, then said, "Master."
Gu Li felt an instant wave of embarrassment wash over him. Why did this game feel so familiar? Did the image of the King of the Alien City infringe on He Shiyi's portrait rights?!
And she was just making a casual remark; this game doesn't need to be so intelligent in unnecessary places, does it?!
She forced herself to turn to He Shiyi and said, "Ahem, don't misunderstand, this is just a normal 18+ game, not what you think."
He Shiyi very sensibly looked away and said, "Okay."
With a moment to catch his breath, Gu Li realized that the attacker lying in the corner of the room was not human!
It looked like a bloated creature, a hybrid of a pig and a dog, with sharp teeth protruding from its lips. Its massive, furry body was pierced by something, creating a hole.
Thick, dark, and eerie blood flowed from it.
Gu Li took a deep breath. Perhaps because the computer had given her enough fright, she didn't feel scared at all when she saw this scene.
She painstakingly saved the file on the remaining computer, unplugged the hard drive, and stood up.
"What is this? One of your kind?"
He Shiyi then looked away from her and said coldly, "I am not something without any ability to think, but I suspect there might be a connection."
"Lili, it's not safe here anymore. We should leave."
Gu Li packed a few clothes: "So where are we going? Maybe you can explain the situation to me on the way."
She knew she seemed to be acting too calmly, whether dealing with He Shiyi, the humanoid monster who suddenly appeared and claimed to be her boyfriend, or with the series of anomalies that kept happening.
But so what?
If she was just a poor patient with a nervous breakdown, then all of this makes sense.
He Shiyi, who was driving in front, explained, "In my memory, we should have appeared here together, except for me, who has this thing."
A tentacle tip emerged from behind him, waving at Gu Li as if to say hello.
"You should have something similar."
Gu Li hugged his hard drive, propped his chin on his hand, and said, "Mmm, you go ahead."
