Tian Yu, an orphan, transmigrated to another world after a car accident. She woke up to find herself with a 5-year-old son and a husband who had long disappeared.
Just as she was about to sta...
After seeing Tangyuan off, Tianyu waited anxiously at home, unsure why she was so nervous. She kept reassuring herself that he was Tangyuan's father, and this was normal. Finally, Tangyuan returned. Tianyu rushed up to ask how he was doing. Tangyuan said he was fine, just busy and didn't have time to spend with her. He hadn't even eaten much of the cake; Li Yong had eaten it all. Seeing Tangyuan still fuming, Tianyu was quite understanding. As long as he was alright, that was enough. She was busy with her business opening and didn't have time to worry about him.
Finally, amidst everyone's anticipation, Yanyu Tower opened tonight. A long queue, mostly men, had formed in front of the shop very early. However, Tian Yu and Prince Wu had agreed that he would be the first to enter, so everyone else had to wait. A commotion began to rise in the crowd, and it looked like trouble was about to break out. But Prince Wu, quite cleverly, only made his grand entrance at the very last moment, bringing Zhao Moyan with him. Someone recognized the two of them, and the noisy crowd instantly quieted down. After Tian Yu, standing upstairs, saw them enter, the others began to enter one after another.
The overall layout of the house remained unchanged, except that the central hall was transformed into a one-meter-high central stage. A pool surrounded the stage to keep guests away from disturbances, and sheer curtains draped around it, creating a dreamlike effect. Seating was set up around the pool, and the second floor featured a row of private rooms and VIP seating, all arranged in a circular layout so that everyone could see the stage from every direction.
After Prince Wu entered the best private room and took his seat, five barefoot women dressed in red exotic clothing, with bells on their hands and feet, sequins around their waists, and their faces covered, appeared on the stage. The background music was also exotic. The five women began to sway their hips and perform a belly dance. Unsurprisingly, this performance instantly caused a sensation among the crowd.
Yu Niang came to report that the entrance fee alone was over a thousand taels of silver. Tian Yu found it unbelievable that so many people had come. She told Yu Niang to close the door and stop accepting customers, saying that the place was full and to come back tomorrow. Yu Niang didn't understand, but she did as she was told.
Seeing that the situation was under control and Yu Niang was handling it, Tian Yu prepared to leave through the back door before the second classical dance performance even began. However, she was immediately blocked by Prince Wu's attendants, who invited her to a private room. Tian Yu explained repeatedly that she had matters to attend to at home, but the guard stood there like a wooden stick, unmoving. She had seen him a few times before; he was probably Prince Wu's personal bodyguard. No matter what Tian Yu said, it was no use; he only replied, "His Highness invites you." Tian Yu was furious and shouted, "You!? Look at you, a rather handsome young man, how can you be so wooden? I already said I have matters to attend to at home and will be back later."
"His Highness invites you in; Madam, please come in!"
"Okay! Okay! Okay! I understand, lead the way!"
As soon as the guard stepped forward to lead the way, Tian Yu turned around and tried to run away. She didn't want to be caught between those two people, especially since she hadn't figured out how to face Zhao Moyan yet. It was better to stay away. But after taking only two steps, the guard blocked her way again. Frustrated, Tian Yu was led by the guard, who grabbed her clothes and took her to the private room of Prince Wu and the others.
"Jifeng, how could you treat her like this? Go down and be punished." Prince Wu said as he saw Tian Yu being dragged in with her head down.
"Yes!" The guard named Gale put Tian Yu down and bowed in reply.
"Wait! It's nothing, we were just joking, no need to be punished! No need!" Tian Yu waved her hand to explain, not wanting anyone to be beaten or punished for such a small matter. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zhao Moyan watching the women dancing on the stage, seemingly unconcerned about her arrival.
"Since Young Master Tian has pleaded for you, you may leave now. This is a one-time exception."
"Yes! Jifeng thanks Young Master Tian." The guard thanked him and withdrew, leaving only the three of them in the room.
"Sit!" Prince Wu said, pointing to the seat between him and Zhao Moyan.
Tian Yu smiled and nodded as she sat down, unsure of where to look. She glanced down at Prince Wu and then at Zhao Moyan, wishing she could disappear as soon as possible.
"I regret it now. Can I still get a share of the profits?" Prince Wu suddenly said.
"Huh!?" Tian Yu looked up at Prince Wu, not understanding what he meant.
"I said I regret it. Judging from your show of force, can I ask for my 30% of the profits back?" Prince Wu repeated.
“That won’t do. Since His Highness has already agreed, we can’t change it,” Tian Yu said, waving her hand.
"Okay! Where did that dance come from? I've never seen it before."
“It’s from the Western Regions; we don’t have it here.”
"How did you know that?"
"I saw it in an old book, and after some modifications, it turned out to be what Your Highness just saw."
"You really know a lot. Just this one dance is enough to make your Misty Rain Pavilion famous."
"Your Highness flatters me."
"Not at all, just look at the drooling crowd in the audience."
Tian Yu looked down at the audience and saw that a group of men were indeed captivated. The dancers on the stage were partially obscured by the light gauze. Even Tian Yu, a woman, couldn't help but take a few more glances. She thought to herself that Yu Niang was really amazing. She had only given a plan and a simple demonstration, yet she had trained these dancers so well. Each of them had graceful dance moves, exquisite figures, and even their eyes were so expressive.
Zhao Moyan's eyes were fixed on the dancers on stage, but his mind was elsewhere. When Tian Yu first came in, he glanced at her casually, seemingly casually, but who knows how much was contained in that glance? He didn't seem to care at all about not seeing her for a month. This month felt longer to him than the six years he spent on the battlefield. He always wanted to find an excuse to come see her, but every time he heard from others that she was very busy and doing well, he couldn't help but laugh at himself. It turned out that he was the only one who couldn't let go and was sick with longing.
