Chapter 118 No Way

Sheji's mind was filled with the horrific, corrosive wounds on those men, and she couldn't help but close her eyes.

At that moment, the door to the inner office opened, and a figure walked out.

This person is none other than Xi Xi, the instigator of the "acid-throwing" incident.

"See, I told you so." Xi Xi patted her chest, pretending to be quite frightened, and whispered to She Ji, then secretly glanced at the NPC out of the corner of her eye.

Surprisingly, this NPC was quite strong, easily subduing the big white man.

The truth is this—

As Xi Xi faced the group of elderly white men standing under umbrellas, she quietly drew her multi-bladed scythe from her waist and unleashed a corrosive water blade with extremely stealthy movements.

This force, while not fatal, is enough to teach them a lesson.

Immediately afterward, while they were shouting in surprise, Xi Xi quickly lowered the brim of her hat, blended into the crowd, circled around, and then swiftly pushed open the gate of the post station.

Perhaps due to the high prices at the post station, there wasn't a single player in the hall when Xi Xi entered.

Only then did she feel relieved enough to take out the pure gold safety lock. Feigning panic, she said to She Ji, "It's too late! Someone is trying to steal your mother's safety lock! Quick! Let me hide!"

NPC She Ji had never seen such a scene before. His face stiffened, and he subconsciously looked at the golden lock in Xi Xi's hand, and his face immediately showed surprise.

It really was his safety lock! She Ji's expression changed drastically. With a grave look, he led Xi Xi into his office, where they heard a commotion downstairs…

"So what exactly happened?" She Ji asked with some suspicion, feeling that things weren't as simple as Xi Xi had made them out to be.

"You silly child, don't you remember me?" Xi Xi patted She Ji's shoulder familiarly. "I'm your mother's best friend, Old Xi!"

She Ji's lips twitched, and he looked up at Xi Xi. When did his mother have such a young close friend? She even looked younger than him.

However, this person was able to describe his relationship with his mother, knew about his mother's beloved pet ostrich Barrett, and even knew about the self-checkout counter he had given his mother. He didn't seem like an imposter at all...

"You know about the wanted notice your mom issued a while ago, right?" Xi Xi continued to lie, waving the Ping An lock in front of She Ji. "I risked my life to find it for her!"

She Ji's expression froze, as if she had entered a pre-recorded dialogue, and she suddenly began to act out the scene with tears welling up in her eyes.

He looked at the safety lock as if it were the first time he had seen it, and exclaimed in surprise, "Where did you find this lock? My God, thank you so much! My mother hasn't slept well for days..."

After he finished crying, She Ji raised his head and regained his previous expression, asking, "So what does this have to do with those gentlemen from earlier?"

After saying that, he reached for the safety lock. But Xi Xi held the lock tightly in her hand and then took it back.

"As you can see, protecting this lock was no easy task for me." Xi Xi said, using the words she had just prepared, feigning heartache as she said, "I accidentally lost my most precious possession in the desert."

"The sandstorms have been raging lately, but they finally subsided a bit today, so I went to the vending machine and bought an umbrella to try and protect myself from the sandstorm while I searched for my lost treasure..."

"It turned out that these people had ulterior motives. They took a liking to the pure gold lock in my hand, and when I passed by with my umbrella, they actually took the opportunity to try to snatch the gold lock away!"

"I panicked, thinking, 'This won't do! This is Old You's treasure!' I had to run as fast as I could to get here to you." Xi Xi's ability to speak fluently was growing, and she choked up as she spoke, even shedding a tear.

She's expected to pay for those scumbags' medical bills? No way.

"So that's how it is. I knew those people didn't look friendly. So you attacked them?" Sheji nodded in agreement as if he believed her, then changed the subject and asked.

"How could I, a weak woman, possibly defeat those tall men?" Xi Xi looked troubled. She didn't deny it, but subtly shifted the focus of the conflict, "They wanted to steal your safety lock, is that reasonable?! Even if I had extraordinary abilities, it would be self-defense, and besides, I don't."

"Besides, everything needs evidence. You have so many cameras here, how could I dare to attack them in broad daylight?"

Xi Xi said with an innocent look on her face, but she was actually very confident in her heart.

The reason she was able to change her plans on the spot was because a few days earlier at the supply station, in order to find a hidden spot to successfully use the Magic Pen Blessing System, she observed every surveillance camera in the supply station.

The area where the white-clad man was located happened to have only one overhead surveillance camera mounted on a lamppost.

So she bought an umbrella.

Seeing that She Jizhen believed it, she even indignantly told Xi Xi about the rude behavior of those Western men.

Xi Xi couldn't help but take a curious look before handing the safety lock back to She Ji.

The moment he received the lock, a dark and unfathomable look appeared in She Ji's eyes. He remained silent for a moment, seemingly lost in the story again, before looking up at Xi Xi with a somewhat forced smile, saying, "Actually, I haven't worn this lock in a long time..."

“I used to think this lock was old-fashioned and that people would laugh at me if I wore it out. My mother kept nagging me to wear it, and we always ended up arguing and parting on bad terms…”

With tears welling in her eyes, She Ji whispered, "I never expected this..."

Xi Xi patted his shoulder, thinking that she should get through this wanted poster plot quickly, as she was in a hurry: "I understand, your Aunt Xi understands, you kids just overthink things."
