After six years in the apocalypse, Xi Xi tragically died at the hands of her aunt's family. Unexpectedly, she was reborn on the day the apocalypse began. Just as she was preparing to leverage h...
Xi Xi (Xiao Ji): "I'm not a salesperson, nor am I customer service. I'm just doing fair trade with everyone, that's all. Even without earning that little bit of agency fee, I can be self-sufficient in boiling water and keeping warm. I have no obligation to boil water for others, much less to put up with the attitude of someone as unreasonable as you, understand?"
Xi Xi (Xiao Ji): "Secondly, you didn't directly insult me before, but you hurt the people I did business with, you hurt my customers, which is the same as hurting me."
Xi Xi : "You used to keep mocking players who needed hot water and laughing at customers who boiled water at my place. Didn't you agree with the saying 'Only a fool would spend 8 survival points to boil water'? Now you've decided to be a fool too? Or do you think I and everyone else are fools, twisting the truth here?"
As soon as Xi Xi spoke, just as she had expected, the players who had been spending survival points to boil water with her jumped out one after another. Although there is still some kindness in this world, most people are actually bystanders. They can stay out of it and watch the show if it doesn't concern them, but they will only step forward when their own interests are harmed.
Xi Xi understood this principle all too well. Therefore, she did not directly answer all of Rui Xiaomin's questions, but instead raised new questions in order to provoke public outrage. She needed to put herself on the moral high ground of the masses.
"Oh my, who do we have here? Isn't this the guy who was making sarcastic remarks about us drinking hot water before? Don't you love drinking cold water the most?"
"You still have the nerve to tag people to help you boil water? It's hilarious, you're so shameless."
"This hot water is so comforting! Oh, I forgot, you prefer cold water, what a pity!"
...
Rui Xiaomin never expected Xi Xi to attract so many people. In her original world, as a senior executive in the company, she was always the one reprimanding people; she had never experienced anything like this. If the interns in the company were disobedient, she had plenty of ways to complain to her superiors, torment them severely, and then fire them. As long as she whispered in the ear of those male leaders, who would dare to disobey her?
Originally intending to stand on moral high ground and kick Xi Xi while she was down, Rui Xiaomin was unexpectedly outmaneuvered. Her face immediately turned red: "I... I drink cold water when it's hot and hot water when it's cold. Is there a problem with that?"
Arguing with an unreasonable person is so much fun, Xi Xi couldn't help but laugh out loud. The fact that Rui Xiaomin could come up with such a lame excuse showed just how thick-skinned she was. Xi Xi ignored Rui Xiaomin, picked up the insulated food container, opened it, and saw steaming hot food inside. She blew on it contentedly, took a big gulp of soup, and found it warm, delicious, and rich, instantly warming her up.
"Hey~ that's not what you said exactly. You said 'mineral water tastes better when it's cold.' Miss Xi blocked you to fulfill your wish, understand?"
"It's hilarious. You and a bunch of people ganged up to mock someone for boiling water, and you wouldn't even let the person involved block you. Let me tell you, not only will she block you, but I'll block you too."
Rui Xiaomin's face flushed red and then turned pale with anger at the words on the public chat. She was already shivering from the cold, and now her face was contorted with rage and completely drained of color. She hesitated for a moment, then finally said with a wicked smile, "Xi Xi, let's put aside our personal grudges for now. It's so cold now, don't be so selfish. A lot of people need hot water. Just now, many people were asking for it on the public chat. It's fine if you don't like me, but at least help them, okay?"
Rui Xiaomin lowered her head and fiddled with her armor, a hint of malice flashing in her eyes. She figured that even the most selfless Xi Xi wouldn't willingly go outside to boil water in the freezing night. Anyone could sow discord; there were plenty of people competing with her at the same time in the company. Did she know why only she had risen to the top?
Xi Xi raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised. This incredibly arrogant Rui Xiaomin wasn't actually an utterly stupid fool; she could even handle the situation with some semblance of competence, which meant she did have some brains, even though Rui Xiaomin's approach was somewhat self-destructive.
Sure enough, the number of people asking Xi Xi for hot water surged in the public chat, flooding in one after another until it almost filled the entire screen. Some were even willing to pay double survival points to have Xi Xi boil water. Rui Xiaomin smiled smugly, but for some reason, she still felt a little resentful. What if Xi Xi actually accepted the order? That would mean she had earned double survival points for nothing. Thinking this, Rui Xiaomin gritted her teeth and clenched her hands tightly. Soon, her palms were scratched with crescent-shaped marks from her fingernails.
"Yes, Miss Xi, could you please boil some water for me?"
"That Rui Xiaomin is no good, but I've never said a bad word about you. Could you boil some water for me?"
"I'm freezing to death, please help me."
"I'll help you scold Rui Xiaomin, can you boil some water for me?"
...
The shouts on the public screen gradually grew louder. Xi Xi sipped her hot snake bone soup while looking at the rapidly scrolling chat history, a cold smile playing on her lips.
Perhaps unable to bear it any longer, a long message suddenly appeared on the public screen. Liu Yunyan said indignantly, "Let me ask you all, you didn't want hot water before, but suddenly you want it after the deadline. Why? Isn't it because the weather is getting cold? Everyone knows that without an electric kettle, you can only boil water by the fire outside. It's so cold outside, you're probably all hiding in your cars right now, aren't you? Isn't it a bit much to ask others to go outside in the cold wind to help boil water?"
Xi Xi paused for a moment, then slowly put down the thermos, thinking that it hadn't been a waste of time to boil water for the girl to make instant noodles. Liu Yunyan's long post caused a brief two-second silence on the public chat before it started scrolling rapidly again.
