Family, let me tell you something: I transmigrated, but it feels like I didn't fully! Except for this 21st-century brain, I brought nothing else over!
Other people transmigrate and either...
"The place where we were attacked by the kobolds last time is not far ahead!"
Sergeant Medes pulled his horse to a stop beside Joey and said to him.
"Are we there yet?"
"Then we need to get ready quickly!"
Joey gestured to the messenger next to him to give orders to the team.
The messenger waved the flag in his hand, and the troops behind him automatically changed formation.
The heavily armored warriors moved to the front of the column, followed by the spearmen, with the archers at the very back.
The third company that Joey led this time was fully equipped with various military branches, and he was determined to wipe out these kobolds.
"Sergeant Medes, you lead the team and catch up slowly. I'll go with Bearded Man to check ahead first!"
After saying this, Joey dismounted, and the bearded man followed suit without hesitation.
"Captain Joey, you're the team commander now, you can't go into danger alone?"
Sergeant Medes immediately objected when he saw that Joey wanted to take the bearded man to find the kobolds first.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing!"
"I value my life even more than you do; I have no intention of going to my death!"
Joey didn't want Medes to worry about him either. After all, they were comrades who had killed people together, and he should be closer to others.
Joey's thought was that this was his first time leading a team on a campaign, and he had to establish his authority in front of these veterans and demonstrate his personal charisma, which would be beneficial for leading the team in the long run.
If possible, it would be even better if we could reduce the number of casualties among this 120-man team by one or two before dealing with these kobolds.
"But……"
Sergeant Medes was not swayed by Joey's words; he was now Joey's adjutant and more concerned about his safety.
"Listen to me, after all, I'm the captain now!"
Joey chuckled and immediately asserted his authority as captain, leaving Medes with no room to say anything more.
"Don't worry, don't worry, I'll make my escape as soon as things get complicated!"
"I've put on this big beard, haven't I? If we really run, I think I'll be faster than him!"
Joey patted the bearded man on the shoulder, asking him to say a few words on his behalf.
"Yeah, yeah, Joey is a super fast runner. He always says there's a guy named Bolt, and only that guy can catch him!"
The bearded man didn't understand the implication that Joey was betraying his teammates. Instead, he acted like a nice guy and tried to persuade Medes on Joey's behalf.
Medes thought the bearded man was indeed quite simple-minded. If something really happened, Joey would probably be fine with him covering for him.
Seeing that Medes had given his consent, Joey grabbed the bearded man and they slipped into the bushes by the roadside.
...
"Joey, do you think these kobolds are people or dogs?"
Bearded Man and Joey crouched in the bushes, staring at a group of kobolds ahead.
This is a group of animals whose height is less than that of humans, but about the same as that of dwarves. Their heads are typical of dogs, and their lower bodies are somewhat human-like, with two legs, but their hair is unusually abundant.
"If you call them human, they're just too ugly; if you call them dogs, they don't seem to like eating poop. They're neither human nor dog!"
Joey saw a huge bonfire burning in the middle of the kobolds, with a dozen or so kobolds singing and dancing around it, seemingly performing some kind of ritual.
One of the kobolds, who resembled a priest, wore a strange grass ring on his head and was muttering a language that Joey couldn't understand, even though Joey knew a little bit about kobolds.
"Big Beard, I'm going to go and deal with them first. Don't move around here!"
Joey gave a brief instruction and crawled out of the bushes, without drawing the longsword from his waist.
"@#¥%……%!"
One of the kobolds immediately spotted Joey and yelled at him. Several more kobolds then followed him and surrounded Joey.
Hey everyone!
Joey greeted him directly in kobold language.
Clearly, neither the bearded man nor the kobolds in front of them expected that Joey could speak kobold language.
"You cunning two-legged sheep, what are you trying to do by trespassing into our territory?"
A taller kobold-like figure approached Joey, holding a blunt weapon made of a special stone.
"I'm just a traveler passing through, and I'd like to make friends with you!"
"We don't need two-legged sheep friends, get out of here!"
"I haven't smashed your head yet only because you speak our language; otherwise, I would have done it already!"
As the kobold spoke, he raised the blunt weapon in his hand and smashed it into the ground, creating a deep crater.
It seems these kobolds are indeed incredibly powerful. They're said to be a bit dim-witted, otherwise they wouldn't have fallen to the level of a third-rate group, disliked by both the Alliance and the Horde.
"My dear friend, what are you saying? Don't you have two legs too? You're not a two-legged sheep either, are you?"
Joey wasn't afraid of him either. When dealing with these simpletons, the more you reason with them, the more you can cool down the CPU in their heads.
Upon hearing Joey's words, the kobolds in front of them all lowered their heads and looked at their legs.
Aside from having more hair, it seems to be no different from what Joey said.
They were starting to doubt what they had just said.
"Cunning humans! The priest was right after all. You humans are full of evil thoughts, trying to bewitch our people!"
I'm going to smash your head in!
The tall, dog-headed man seemed to realize something, shook his head, and objected to Joey's words.
