"You're lucky to have survived her!"

Carter glanced at the steel sword on Joey's waist, initially thinking it was just decoration, but now he completely changed his mind.

After hearing Carter's words, Joey looked at the ring on her finger. If it weren't for the ring Vivian had given her, she probably wouldn't be in such a good situation.

"She's really amazing, especially her stealth skills. She's got the makings of an assassin, and her combat prowess is incredible!"

Joey was still shaken by Lan's attack today.

"I've only met her once. She used to be the old city lord's personal bodyguard and never participated in assassinations. Perhaps the current city lord has new plans and has therefore changed her duties!"

"Cartel, you seem to be quite familiar with the city lord!"

Joey sensed the hidden meaning in Carter's words, and his expression changed.

"Heh, you really are a clever human being!"

Carter smiled as he looked at Joey. After spending the last few days with Joey, he had gradually come to trust him and was no longer as wary of him as before.

Especially after the attack on the three of them today, he felt he should say something to them.

In reality, it's just that Joey is the only one listening. The kobold is completely unable to communicate in that state, and the bearded man's goofy appearance means he's just a pure worker. Only Joey can actually use his brain.
