The darkness and distortion hidden beneath the surface of civilized society, the eerie whispers that only rise in the dead of night!
The day the sea fog rolled in, the world turned into a lon...
The next morning, Eros leaned against the head of the bed with his legs bent, a look of ease on his face.
Angelica and Irina had already left the room, leaving only him and Isabella.
After being promoted to Sequence 6, Irina's range of free movement has increased a lot. Currently, as long as she does not leave the Duke's Mansion, she will basically not be disconnected.
Therefore, Irina is not with Eros all the time. When she is at home, she spends most of her time with her mother Florica.
For example, she got dressed and went to her mother's place early this morning.
Suddenly, Eros, who was leaning against the bed, changed his expression, for no other reason than that he heard the sound of the door handle being turned.
Seeing that the door was about to be opened, Eros quickly pulled up the quilt piled beside him and covered himself.
After a while, the door was opened and Estelle came in.
Eros forced a smile on his face: "Morning!"
Estelle nodded and responded, then she said with some doubt:
"Have you seen my new necklace?"
Eros stiffened for a moment, then gave a dry laugh and said, "I didn't see it! Maybe my sister took it!"
Estelle frowned: "I asked Undine before I came here, and she said she didn't take it."
At this point, Estelle seemed to have noticed that Eros in front of her seemed a little abnormal, so she asked with some concern:
"What's wrong? Are you sick?"
As she spoke, she came to sit beside Eros' bed. As soon as she sat down, Estelle stood up again without making a sound. She coughed lightly and said:
"Since you didn't see it, forget it!"
As he spoke, he walked towards the door, his steps seeming a little hurried.
After the door closed, a cough that had been suppressed for a long time was heard.
After washing up, Eros came to the restaurant to prepare for dinner. Estelle and Undine had been waiting in the restaurant for a long time.
Estelle looked behind Eros, but did not see the maid named Evelyn, so she withdrew her gaze and began to focus on the breakfast on the table.
However, when Undine saw Eros coming, she blinked and asked:
"Mom's necklace called the Brilliant Starry Sky is gone. Did you see it?"
Eros came to the dining table and sat down, carefully glancing at Estelle, and he heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that there was nothing unusual on her face.
Then he turned to look at Wendini on the side and said in a surprised tone:
"Didn't you take that necklace?"
Undine opened his eyes wide and looked at Eros in disbelief. When he saw Estelle looking at him, Undine quickly retorted loudly:
"I don't!"
"Then how come he suddenly disappeared?" Eros complained first.
"Didn't you take it? I saw you enter Mom's room last night!" Undine began to fight back.
Estelle frowned, because when she asked Undine about this news before, Undine didn't tell her.
Seeing Estelle looking at him, Eros suddenly felt uneasy. Oh no, how could she have seen him last night!
Seeing that the truth could no longer be hidden, Eros laughed dryly and had to tell the truth:
"I took it and exchanged it with someone else!"
Estelle stared at Eros in front of her, while Undine beside her showed a hint of gloating on her face.
At first, she wasn't going to give Eros away, but he wanted to slander her, so he deserved it.
You naughty brother, you are still far from being able to fight with your sister.
"Tell me! What's the exchange?"
After staring for a moment, Estelle took a sip of milk and asked calmly.
Eros coughed lightly and explained, "I noticed before that you seemed to like that string of ocean hearts very much."
"So I took an ornament and two Sequence 7 contaminants and exchanged them back from the person I traded with last time."
"I went out last night not just for a stroll, but secretly for this purpose."
"Don't worry, I disguised myself when I met that person, and he definitely couldn't associate us with me."
As he spoke, Eros took out the string of ocean hearts from his pocket and handed it to Estelle.
Although she didn't understand why she had to exchange it for an ordinary ornament, the Heart of the Ocean was right in front of her, so Estelle still chose to believe Eros.
After reaching out to take the Heart of the Ocean, Estelle hummed softly, then said:
“Let’s have breakfast!”
Seeing that the matter was settled, Eros breathed a sigh of relief. Undine, who was standing beside him, showed a hint of disappointment on her face when she saw this.
After finishing breakfast, Eros squeezed in next to Estelle and read today's India morning paper with her.
This morning's newspaper prominently records yesterday's march, and also has a new science column.
The content here is basically explaining to people that there is no God in the world and we should believe in science and so on.
It also lists various natural phenomena that can easily be mistaken for supernatural phenomena.
After reading it, Eros chuckled, turned his head and said to Estelle beside him with interest:
"What do you think would happen if one day they really calculated the value of pi?"
Estelle blinked her beautiful eyes, a little confused on her pretty face.
"What will happen when all is said and done?"
"I won't tell you!" Eros laughed, stood up and slipped away.
