Eight years ago, Chen Zhennan transmigrated into a chaotic era, intending to live a simple life, but unexpectedly found a fallen empress.
In this turbulent world, the two became each other...
Song Yunyang took the wine bowl, tilted her head back, and swallowed the anesthetic.
Before long, she began to feel that her body was out of control, as if she were sinking into a ball of cotton, soft and limp.
My body started to feel numb, and the excruciating pain in my shoulder did lessen considerably.
A surge of curiosity welled up within her, and she wanted to ask again what this anesthetic was, but when she opened her mouth, she found her voice stammering and becoming incoherent.
A hint of panic flashed in Song Yunyang's eyes, and Chen Zhennan quickly comforted her, "Yunyang, don't be afraid, this is normal, it will be fine in a while."
Chen Zhennan gently picked up Song Yunyang, as if she were a rare treasure, and carefully placed her on the bed.
His eyes were full of pity as he looked at Song Yunyang's increasingly dazed gaze, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
After Song Yunyang completely lost consciousness, Chen Zhennan took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and began to perform surgery on Song Yunyang.
His eyes were as focused as an eagle's, fixed on the arrow, and his hands moved steadily, slowly removing it.
Every movement was made with utmost care, as if the slightest carelessness would harm Song Yunyang.
Chen Zhennan carefully bandaged Song Yunyang's wound, each movement gentle and precise. The bandage slowly wrapped around his hands, like a guardian white snake, tightly encasing the wound.
After the bandage was finished, he breathed a sigh of relief before turning around and slowly walking out of the medical room.
Once outside, he solemnly instructed the doctors guarding the door: "You must keep a close watch on this place and take good care of Song Yunyang. If anything goes wrong, you will be punished according to military law!"
After saying that, he resolutely turned around and quickly walked out of the tunnel.
As soon as they emerged from the tunnel, Chen Zhennan saw Gu Siyao standing to the side with a frustrated expression, looking like a defeated rooster, dejected and crestfallen.
Clearly, Jia Long has been released.
Chen Zhennan sighed inwardly, but remained outwardly calm. He stepped forward and gently patted Gu Siyao's shoulder.
"Siyao, this is not your fault. I made it clear beforehand that I agreed to let him go. Don't be upset, we will have another chance to kill him."
Gu Siyao felt somewhat relieved after hearing Chen Zhennan's words, but still felt a little guilty.
"General, it's all my fault for being too naive. I should have just killed him back then."
Chen Zhennan shook his head slightly: "I really didn't want to kill him. It's better to have such a sharpshooter at my disposal than to kill him. It's alright, let's not talk about this anymore, come with me."
Chen Zhennan smiled slightly, a hint of weariness in his smile, and led Gu Siyao toward the front of the mountain.
At this moment, the front mountain was deathly silent. The shouts of battle had long since vanished without a trace, as if a gust of wind had swept away all the noise, leaving only a depressing silence.
Gu Siyao followed behind Chen Zhennan, looking at his slightly pale face, feeling very worried.
She quickened her pace to catch up with Chen Zhennan and said softly, "General, you look so pale, you must be exhausted. Just tell me what you need."
Chen Zhennan shook his head slightly: "No, tonight's preparations are crucial, I have to make the arrangements myself, you just follow me."
With that, Chen Zhennan led Gu Siyao to the top of the mountain.
Wang Lei was still on the mountaintop, ready for battle, and the army had not rested.
Chen Zhennan stepped forward and said with a serious expression, "Wang Lei, General Song Yunyang has ordered you to immediately lead 20,000 soldiers down the west side of Cuiming Mountain, circle around to the west side of Zhou Xiang's army, and then hide in the forest. Tomorrow night will be the final battle. This mission is of utmost importance and cannot be lost."
Upon hearing this, Wang Lei immediately began to have doubts.
He knew that Song Yunyang and Chen Zhennan had a close relationship, but he only trusted Song Yunyang's orders.
He frowned and said stubbornly, "Marshal Chen, you know that I only obey Marshal Song's orders. For such an important matter, I must see General Song give the order with my own eyes."
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhennan couldn't help but feel annoyed. He had never met such a stubborn person in his entire life.
“Wang Lei, Yun Yang has just gone through a fierce battle and is now exhausted and resting. If you delay the battle because of such a trivial matter and let Zhou Xiang take the advantageous position, Yun Yang will definitely be furious and will not let you off easily.”
Upon hearing Chen Zhennan's words, Wang Lei felt a chill run down his spine. The image of Song Yunyang's angry face flashed through his mind, her cold and stern expression seemingly capable of freezing a person.
After a moment's thought, Wang Lei cupped his hands and said loudly, "This humble general will obey the Marshal's orders!"
Having said that, he turned to face the 20,000 soldiers behind him and roared, "Brothers, follow me!"
The 20,000 soldiers responded in unison, their voices like thunder, shaking the valley.
After Wang Lei and his men left, Chen Zhennan slowly took out a Sky-Soaring Horn from his sleeve.
With a strong pull aimed at the sky, a firework burst forth like a firebird breaking free from its restraints, soaring straight into the heavens before exploding with a deafening roar, its brilliant sparks blooming across the night sky.
After setting off the fireworks, Chen Zhennan seemed to have exhausted all his strength and leaned wearily against a big tree to rest.
Gu Siyao stood to one side like a statue, her face serious, watching her surroundings warily.
After waiting for about ten minutes, the atmosphere around us became increasingly oppressive, as quiet as the sea before a storm.
Suddenly, a group of men in black appeared one after another, like ghosts emerging from the darkness.
Upon closer inspection, Gu Siyao noticed that these people were all wearing red cloaks, which shone like flames in the night. These were the uniforms worn by Chen Zhennan's special forces.
