Eight years ago, Chen Zhennan transmigrated into a chaotic era, intending to live a simple life, but unexpectedly found a fallen empress.
In this turbulent world, the two became each other...
Chen Zhennan holstered his pistol, casually waved to the people behind him, and turned to leave.
Li Guangyi watched Chen Zhennan's departing figure, couldn't help but smile bitterly, and then sighed.
When Chen Zhennan returned to the main tent, Song Yunyang immediately came to greet him, her eyes shining with concern.
"How are you? Are you alright?"
Chen Zhennan smiled slightly, his face full of ease, "Dealing with Li Guangyi is not difficult at all."
After saying that, he stretched and turned around to lie down on the bed.
Song Yunyang looked puzzled and frowned slightly. "Why can you still laugh?"
Chen Zhennan smiled mysteriously, a sly glint in his eyes. "I knew all along that Li Guangyi would break his word. If I were him, I would have done the same."
"You would do that too? Going back on your word, that's not like you."
"style?"
Chen Zhennan sat up and pointed at Song Yunyang.
“Language is the least reliable thing. What you say is not important; what you do is. In Li Guangyi’s eyes, I am ultimately an enemy. I think the unification of the Three Kingdoms is unacceptable to him.”
Song Yunyang lowered her head and thought about it. She had the same attitude towards Chen Zhennan back then, but now that their positions had changed, her thoughts were different.
Do you have any ideas?
Chen Zhennan shook his head slightly, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. "This time I'm taking you to meet someone."
Song Yunyang was already used to Chen Zhennan's deliberately mysterious attitude, so she could only shake her head helplessly and wait for nightfall with him.
As night fell, twinkling lights twinkled in the sky. Chen Zhennan and Song Yunyang, accompanied by ten guards, mounted their horses and headed towards Yunzhou City.
Upon arriving in Yunzhou City, the city guard immediately opened the gates and let him pass upon seeing that it was Chen Zhennan, with a look of awe on his face.
Song Yunyang couldn't help but complain, "I didn't expect that you would have bribed the city guards in the area under Li Guangyi's jurisdiction."
Chen Zhennan shook his head slightly and explained with a smile, "I didn't bribe this city guard; he's one of my men. Don't forget, I have men all over the Three Kingdoms."
Song Yunyang scoffed and said nothing more, following Chen Zhennan into the city.
The group made several turns and passed through several quiet streets before finally arriving at the door of a wealthy family's house.
Song Yunyang looked up and saw the two large characters "Li Mansion" written on the door.
"here it is……"
Chen Zhennan smiled and nodded: "That's right, this is Li Guangyi's residence, but it now belongs to his son."
As he spoke, Chen Zhennan dismounted and walked to the door, patting it open.
Who's knocking?
"Emperor of the Great Yan Dynasty".
As soon as Chen Zhennan's name was uttered, the gate of the Li residence was immediately pushed open, and two servants carrying swords walked out.
"Young Master has been waiting inside the manor for quite some time. Please come in."
Chen Zhennan nodded slightly, then turned and winked at the ten guards, signaling them to wait outside the door.
Song Yunyang hurriedly stepped forward and whispered, "If it's just the two of us going in, and it turns out to be Li Guangyi's trap, it won't be easy for us to get out."
Chen Zhennan gestured with his hand, and said confidently, "Don't worry, why would I have brought you along if I wasn't absolutely certain?"
After saying that, Chen Zhennan stepped into the Li residence, passed through the front hall and came to the back hall.
Inside the pavilion, two stoves flickered with a faint red glow, and a young man stood beside them, his features obscured by the dim light.
Chen Zhennan led Song Yunyang slowly into the pavilion, and only then did the two see the man's appearance clearly.
The man was a little older than Chen Zhennan, probably around thirty years old, and had two scars on his face, which made him look like an unfriendly person.
"Young Master Li, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
Chen Zhennan spoke first, and slightly clasped his hands in a fist salute.
Young Master Li then clasped his hands in a fist and bowed deeply to Chen Zhennan.
"Greetings, Your Majesty the Emperor of Great Yan. Please be seated."
Chen Zhennan hummed in agreement and slowly sat down with Song Yunyang.
“Yun Yang, this is Li Mingzhe, the eldest son of Marshal Li Guangyi, and now the Shengjing General of the Great Zhou.”
Song Yunyang nodded slightly, smiled politely, and said nothing.
Li Mingzhe then sat down, his expression very serious.
"Your Majesty, this is our first meeting, but let's speak frankly. I am willing to submit to the Great Yan, but only as a vassal state. I wonder if Your Majesty would agree?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhennan's expression suddenly changed, and he couldn't help but let out a soft snort.
"Young Master Li, we made a promise before. You would lead your people to submit to the Great Yan, and from now on, the Great Zhou court would be under your administration. Do you intend to follow your father's example and break your word?"
Without a second thought, Li Mingzhe shook his head. “Chen Zhennan, my father is indeed somewhat inflexible, but my thoughts are similar to his. The Great Zhou has lost its emperor, but the royal family still exists. It’s just that the court is unstable and there is no way to support a new emperor.”
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhennan frowned slightly, and after a moment, he revealed a mocking smile.
"The Great Zhou royal family? As far as I know, the Great Zhou royal family is all men left. They fought amongst themselves for power, and in the end, the throne was seized by Zhou Jianjia. Do you want the Great Zhou to have an incompetent and muddle-headed new emperor?"
Upon hearing this, Li Mingzhe stood up. "This is probably not something your Great Yan Emperor should concern himself with. My conditions will not change. At most, Great Zhou can only be your vassal state. There is absolutely no possibility of you annexing Great Zhou!"
Chen Zhennan slammed his fist on the table in anger, the sound like thunder, causing the snowflakes around the pavilion to fall, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
"You broke your promise, Li Mingzhe. It seems you and your son are truly of the same ilk!"
