Chapter Ninety-Eight: The Unification of the Three Kingdoms

Ren Qi's corpse crashed to the ground with a thud, the sound like thunder exploding in the silent space. Zhou Tianlong's face turned deathly pale instantly, his eyes widened like copper bells, and panic quickly overwhelmed him like a tidal wave.

His body trembled slightly, like a leaf swaying in a gale, about to be blown away at any moment.

Song Yunming, however, had a faint smile on his lips as he slowly tucked the grenade back into his sleeve.

Looking around at everyone, Song Yunming said coldly, "Listen carefully, gentlemen. As long as everyone sits still and behaves themselves, there will be no trouble. Do not make any rash moves, lest you bring trouble upon yourselves."

After a pause, Song Yunming turned to look at Li Guangyi and continued, "From this moment on, Marshal Li Guangyi is now the Grand Marshal of Fuyuan of our Great Yan. As for the Great Zhou, it has already submitted to our Great Yan. This is the inevitable trend of the times. If any person dares to oppose it, hmph, they will be killed without mercy and will not be tolerated!"

Upon hearing this, Li Guangyi's brows furrowed tightly, like two tangled braids.

He pointed at Song Yunming with his finger, his lips trembling slightly, as if he had a thousand words to say, but in the end he slowly lowered his hand.

He thought to himself: Zhou Tianlong is still alive, so there might still be a glimmer of hope that he could prove that he had not betrayed the Great Zhou.

Zhou Tianlong gritted his teeth, stared coldly at Song Yunming, and drew his long sword from his waist.

"Li Guangyi, what explanation do you have? With a formidable enemy at hand, you, as the Marshal of the Great Zhou, have colluded with foreign powers! Ministers, follow me and execute him!"

Song Yunming turned his head and looked around. Sure enough, some people stood up. This was just being ungrateful.

Song Yunming pulled open his collar, took out a gun, and then turned around to aim it at the people who had stood up.

A dramatic scene unfolded: everyone who had stood up sat back down, facing the dark muzzle of a gun.

Zhou Tianlong was extremely embarrassed, but the sword at his waist was already drawn. If he put it down now, he would lose all face as a prince.

But Song Yunming had no intention of paying attention to him and walked step by step to Li Guangyi.

Song Yunming lowered his voice and said softly, "Marshal Li, you've already boarded a pirate ship. There's no turning back now. If you get off now, you'll be an unrighteous person. How will you stand in this world after that? There's no way out."

These words were like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the last glimmer of hope in Li Guangyi's heart. He immediately fell into a deep silence, his mind a chaotic mess, like a tangled mess.

Before Li Guangyi could sort out his chaotic thoughts, Song Yunming suddenly turned around like an enraged lion, his gaze shooting towards Zhou Tianlong like lightning.

"Since Marshal Li has already tacitly approved of this, men, kill Zhou Tianlong!"

Upon hearing this, Li Guangyi's eyes widened in shock and fury. Like a trapped wild beast, he screamed at the top of his lungs, "Wait!"

However, the special forces members paid no heed to Li Guangyi's shouts.

Without hesitation, one of the team members raised his rifle. With a loud bang, a bullet, like a whistling arrow, struck Zhou Tianlong squarely between the eyebrows.

Zhou Tianlong's body jerked backward, his eyes still wide open, seemingly filled with endless resentment and despair, before he fell straight down.

Blood slowly flowed from between his eyebrows, spreading across the ground like a blooming crimson flower, exuding the aura of death.

Li Guangyi was stunned, as if struck by lightning. He stood there dumbfounded, his eyes wide open like copper bells.

Song Yunming chuckled and slowly extended his hand, signaling the surrounding team members to put down their rifles.

Inside the tent, the silence was like the calm before a storm, so oppressive it was hard to breathe.

Song Yunming saw that the camp had become completely quiet, a silence like a dead swamp that seemed to swallow up all sound.

Slowly raising his glass, Song Yunming lifted it high towards everyone and declared loudly, "The outcome is decided, I toast to you all!"

Having said that, he drank it all in one gulp, his bold and unrestrained manner making it seem as if he were the one who lived there.

Setting down his wine glass, Song Yunming took a deep breath and shouted, "Pass on Marshal Li's order: open the gates of all cities and let Chen Zhennan's army in. The Great Zhou and the Great Yan shall unite as one and shake hands in peace!"

The sound was like a thunderclap from a clear sky, instantly exploding within the camp.

Upon hearing this, Li Guangyi was instantly enraged, his eyes blazing with fury.

He felt as if he had been slapped hard across the face, and in front of everyone; it was an utter disgrace.

He lunged forward like an enraged bull, grabbing Song Yunming by the neck with both hands and gritting his teeth as he said, "You little brat, you can frame me, but you absolutely cannot let Chen Zhennan's army in. Even if I, Li Guangyi, am torn to pieces, I will not let such a thing happen!"

Song Yunming, however, remained smiling, completely unaffected by Li Guangyi's anger.

Instead of pointing the dark muzzle of his gun at Li Guangyi, he slowly lowered the muzzle.

Just then, a series of chaotic and heavy footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door again.

The special forces soldiers at the entrance, who stood like iron towers, parted to the sides like a tide.

Chen Zhennan, accompanied by Song Yunyang and a serious-looking Li Mingzhe, slowly entered the tent.

Chen Zhennan's arrival was like a whirlwind, sweeping away every inch of air in the camp. Those officials who still held a glimmer of hope for Li Guangyi had their last belief blown away like dust in the wind, confirming the fact that he had betrayed the Great Zhou.
