At their first meeting, she fell in love at first sight. She stumbled upon a scene where someone was being jilted and watched with great interest, only to be warned.
At their second meeting, ...
The corners of Lu Shiyan's mouth twitched slightly, and for a moment he didn't know how to speak. Didn't the petty person just say that she couldn't catch any fish? As for reminding her so many times in front of him?
Looking at her smug look and then looking at his own motionless rod, he actually felt a toothache.
"Mr. Lu, fishing isn't that hard, is it? Look at me! I caught two fish in one go. How are they? Are they plump and delicious? Hmm? You'll have a treat soon. You can try my fish. I just don't know if I can try yours." Wen Ning didn't hear his reply. He raised his eyes in amusement and looked at him. "Lu Shiyan, Mr. Lu? What's wrong? The sun is so strong that it's blinding you and making you mute. Can you give me a reply?"
"Hehe, I'm lucky too. Thanks to Miss Wen, I can drink the fish soup that Miss Wen caught herself." Lu Shiyan said with a toothache on his face.
"Really? You're happy too. Then I'll have someone cook the fish first. We'll taste today's fishing champion with the people on the boat later." After Wen Ning finished speaking, she took the fish and ran to the kitchen in the cabin. Lu Shiyan could hear her happy voice from a distance, and suddenly felt that the entire quiet sea surface had added a lot of vitality.
The quietness of the sea seemed somewhat out of place at this moment.
He curled his lips slightly, his eyes gazing at the water with a playful expression, and then he simply lay down in the rocking chair, thinking to himself: Since I already have a fish, I might as well sit and bask in the sun. As for this fish, if it wants to take the bait, it will take it. If it doesn't, then forget it!
When Wen Ning came out, she saw him lying back in the rocking chair, so relaxed and at ease. He looked so contented. She couldn't help but want to tease him.
She took light, cautious steps, afraid to make even the slightest sound. She gently walked behind him, stretched out her hands, and slowly covered his eyes. Her fingers gently touched his skin, feeling his warmth, as if she could sense his innermost thoughts through that thin layer of skin. Her movements were gentle and delicate, and his eyelashes brushed against her hands, touching each other.
"Guess who I am?" Wen Ning asked in a raised voice.
Lu Shiyan laughed. He could feel from a distance that she was coming towards him like a thief, but he just didn't expose her. He didn't expect that she would do such a childish thing.
Wasn't she asking knowingly? Besides her, who else on the ship would dare to tease him so blatantly? However, he could play along with her.
So, he deliberately asked, "Is it the Snail Girl?"
"No." Wen Ning pursed his lips, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a smile, looking particularly gentle.
Her voice was soft, with a hint of laughter and teasing, as if responding to his joke.
"Who is that naughty girl?" he asked again, his tone full of curiosity.
"Guess again, it's easy." Wen Ning blinked and replied playfully.
Lu Shiyan pretended to think for a moment, "That's the Smurfs on the sea."
"No." Wen Ning pursed his lips. He was doing it on purpose, just to give her a perfunctory answer. Her voice was so obvious, but he couldn't tell she was a little upset.
"Isn't that right? It must be some naughty elf." Lu Shiyan said seriously, as if it were true.
Wen Ning stared at him with wide eyes, disbelieving, a wave of anger rising within her. She'd clearly already let him win, yet he was still teasing her. Before she could get angry, Lu Shiyan suddenly reached out, swiftly and accurately grasping her hand. With a powerful tug, he pulled her into his arms. Wen Ning hadn't anticipated this move at all, and she lost her balance, falling forward uncontrollably.
Wen Ning was startled by his sudden action and couldn't help but let out a cry of surprise. She frantically searched for support and leaned her entire body onto him, propping herself up against the gap in the recliner. Lu Shiyan's arms were wrapped tightly around her, preventing her from moving. Her heartbeat began to accelerate, and her cheeks flushed shyly at the sudden proximity.
"What are you doing? Let go of me first. I'm getting up." Wen Ning's voice was soft, as if she had just woken up, a little confused and lazy. She blinked her eyes and looked at the man she was holding. She tried to struggle to get up, moving gently so as not to touch anything she shouldn't. But he held her tightly. She couldn't get away for a while.
Lu Shiyan didn't let her go, but hugged her tighter. He just looked at her intently.
"So it was Wen Ning, the Smurf, who was causing trouble?" Lu Shiyan looked at her and said with a smile.
Wen Ning was stunned when he saw his smiling face. This was the first time he saw someone smiling so gently and so warmly.
"You did it on purpose," Wen Ning bit her lip, her voice tinged with shyness. She suddenly realized she'd been tricked by Lu Shiyan. He knew who had covered his eyes, and he was just joking with her, deliberately not admitting he'd guessed right. She hadn't expected him to be so childish, calling her childish, even though he was clearly the more childish.
Lu Shiyan smiled and gently stroked her hair. "Yeah, if I didn't do it on purpose, how could I have deceived a beautiful yet stupid elf like you?" His tone was full of doting and tenderness.
Wen Ning wasn't in a hurry to get up at this moment. If he wasn't tired, why should she? She placed her hand on his chest and casually drew circles: "I'm not stupid, you're the stupid one? It's been so long, and I haven't even caught a single fish. How dare you criticize me?"
"Who said I didn't catch any fish?" Lu Shiyan asked back?
Wen Ning was puzzled. Could it be that she had caught a fish just after she left? Thinking of this, she tilted her head to look into the bucket. It was empty except for water.
