"Alien" did not involve the key technologies, but simply explained the principles.

"This isn't a warp, but rather a photon-like voyage of mass change. Our spacecraft has three spacetime states. The first is the zero-mass excited state. In this state, our spacecraft's rest mass is zero, it has a definite kinetic mass, and it always moves at the speed of mass-change light."
