Chapter 132 Little Dumpling Makes Money

Fire God Temple.

People kept coming to offer incense and pray for blessings.

Qin Luo helped out at the Taoist temple. He and Gu Changsheng sat at the table, answering questions for the people.

A middle-aged man in brocade robes approached Qin Luo and said respectfully, "Immortal Master, could you tell my fortune?"

Qin Luo shook his head, "I don't know how to tell fortunes."

The middle-aged man in brocade robes looked at Qin Luo with surprise. Even the Taoist priests on the roadside could tell fortunes, yet the young Taoist priest in front of him, with his otherworldly air, actually said that he couldn't tell fortunes.

Gu Changsheng said with a serious expression, "What is destined to be yours will be yours, and what is not, you cannot force. If you pray sincerely, the Fire God will naturally bless you."

"Okay, okay."

The middle-aged man in brocade robes suddenly realized.

Qin Luo dislikes fortune telling, whether for others or for himself. Knowing the future makes life meaningless.

An old woman dressed in old clothes walked into the Fire God Temple with a cane. She walked up to Qin Luo, bowed, and said with reverence in her eyes, "Immortal Master, my grandson has been having nightmares every day and is often sick. I don't know if he has offended something unclean. I would like to ask for a talisman."

"OK."

Qin Luo smiled and agreed.

"Master, how much does it cost to draw a talisman?"

"Two coins."

With a kind smile, Qin Luo took out the exorcism talisman he had drawn before and handed it to the old woman.

"If it doesn't work, you can come to the Fire God Temple to find me. If I'm not there, you can find my senior brother."

The old woman took out copper coins tightly wrapped in a handkerchief from her pocket. She took out two coins and handed them to Qin Luo, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Immortal Master, thank you, Immortal Master."

"You're welcome, please take care."

Qin Luo chuckled.

After the old woman walked away, Gu Changsheng reminded her, "Junior brother, you've been at Longhu Temple for so long, but you still haven't figured it out. The easier something is to obtain, the less you will cherish it. The candy she bought for her grandson cost more than two coins."

"What you say is true, senior brother."

Qin Luo understood what his senior brother meant.

Gu Changsheng raised an eyebrow. "Junior brother, could you give me two boxes of these exorcism talismans?"

"One hundred taels per sheet."

"Hahaha."

Qin Luo and Gu Changsheng exchanged a smile.

The little dumpling sat on Qin Luo's shoulder, grinning at Gu Changsheng and showing her clean white teeth. "Big brother, can I cut a bamboo?"

"It's just a bamboo shoot, you can cut it down however you like."

"Thank you, big brother."

The little dumpling leaped into the air and said with a sweet smile, "Stone, come help me cut bamboo."

Shi Tou looked at Qin Luo.

Qin Luo smiled and nodded, "Go ahead."

Seeing that Qin Luo agreed, Shi Tou followed the little dumpling to the backyard of the Taoist temple, where many bamboos were planted.

The little dumpling disassembled the golden scissors into two long knives, and with a few swift strokes, chopped a bamboo stalk into several pieces, leaving the stone dumbfounded.

"Stone, come help me peel bamboo skewers."

Okay.

The little dumpling handed the stone a long golden knife, saying, "Be careful, this knife is very sharp."

"I will be careful."

Shi Tou nodded heavily. They sat on the ground shaving bamboo skewers. Little Tuanzi raised an eyebrow. "Follow Sister Tuanzi to make money, and you'll live a life of luxury from now on."

"Uh-huh."

Stone grinned foolishly.

The incense at the Fire God Temple is very strong.

It wasn't until late at night that the Taoist temple became deserted.

Gu Changsheng said with a smile, "Yao Cheng, go to Xiangmanlou and get two jin of good wine, and also get a few of their signature dishes."

"Master, should we still put it on the tab?"

Yao Cheng inquired.

Gu Changsheng nodded.

Qin Luo and his group arrived at the backyard of the Taoist temple and saw a mountain of bamboo sticks.

Gu Changsheng was somewhat at a loss. "Little guy, why are you shaving so many bamboo skewers?"

"Hehe, I'm going to sell roasted insects! I'm going to make money!" The little dumpling proudly raised its head.

Gu Changsheng was amused by her idea, "If you make money, you have to share half with me."

"On what grounds?"

The little dumpling tilted its head.

Gu Changsheng coughed and said, "These are my bamboos."

The little dumpling's hair stood on end, and she pouted, saying, "If I had known, I wouldn't have been so greedy. Since I was going to catch bugs outside the city anyway, I might as well have gone outside the city to cut bamboo."

Gu Changsheng laughed heartily, "Little guy, I was just joking with you. I'm not interested in money."

"I knew it."

The little dumpling stood proudly with its hands on its hips.

Not long after, Yao Cheng returned carrying a food box. He opened the box, and a delicious aroma wafted out.

There was braised pork knuckle, braised pork ribs, braised prawns, sweet and sour fish, and a three-delicacy meatball soup. Gu Changsheng looked at the dishes and nodded in satisfaction. "Junior brother, while Master is away, we must have a few more drinks tonight."

Qin Luo smiled and nodded, "Okay."

Gu Changsheng poured wine for Qin Luo.

The little dumpling smelled the aroma, put down her work, squatted on the table, and winked playfully, "Big brother, can I eat meat?"

Gu Changsheng chuckled and joked, "Then can you give me a share of your earnings in the future?"

"Of course."

The little dumpling sat cross-legged and nodded.

Gu Changsheng nodded in satisfaction, "Alright."

Qin Luo smiled; the little dumpling was mischievous, but very clever.

"Stone, come and eat."

Qin Luo called out, and Shi Tou immediately sat down beside him upon hearing it.

The little dumpling didn't stand on ceremony and directly used a bamboo skewer to pick up a meatball. She nodded as she ate, "It's so delicious! The city is still the best."

Qin Luo and Gu Changsheng were drinking.

Since Shi Tou didn't see Qin Luo and the others touch their chopsticks, he didn't dare to either.

Yao Cheng asked with a smile, "Little Stone, do you want some porridge? I'll get you a bowl."

Stone habitually looked at Qin Luo.

Qin Luo nodded, "Bring him a bowl of porridge."
