Qin Luo traveled to a world of cultivation where demons ran rampant. To protect himself, he came to the Dragon and Tiger Monastery to learn from a master, only to find out that his master was a swi...
Under the shade of a tree.
The stone is still meditating.
A gentle breeze rose from the ground, and the fallen leaves around them swayed in the wind, like dragons spiraling upwards around the towering tree.
Qin Luo took out a bamboo flute and played it softly, the gentle flute music echoing through the mountains.
The little girl loved the sound of the flute; she swung her legs and sang softly along.
The swirling dragon sang softly, causing ripples to spread across the heavens and earth. When the flute music faded, fallen leaves scattered like rain. Qin Luo put away his bamboo flute.
Stone opened his eyes, his eyes shining, and he said excitedly, "Big brother, I hear the wind singing."
Qin Luo smiled slightly, gave the stone a thumbs up, then stood up and continued on his way.
"I'm so sleepy!"
The little dumpling was yawning.
A gentle spring breeze caressed my face, and the sun shone brightly.
The little dumpling lay there lazily.
"Have you finished memorizing the Thousand Character Classic?"
"I've finished memorizing it!"
Recite it for me.
"Heaven and earth were dark and yellow, the universe was vast and boundless..."
The little dumpling was still lying there, her eyes closed, a blade of grass dangling from her mouth, loudly reciting the Thousand Character Classic.
Stone followed behind, drawing the Bagua diagram in his hand and repeating the Bagua incantation in his mouth.
After reciting the Thousand Character Classic, the little dumpling raised an eyebrow. "Boss, wasn't I amazing?"
"sharp."
"From now on, memorize the 'Qingjing Jing' (Classic of Purity and Tranquility)."
"ah?"
The little dumpling sat up.
Qin Luo handed the Qingjing Jing to the little dumpling and said softly, "Reading more books is good for you."
"Do you have money?"
"There is a golden house in books."
"Why didn't I see it?"
"Because you haven't read enough books."
"All right."
The little dumpling sighed softly. She picked up the Qingjing Jing (Scripture of Tranquility) and recited aloud: "The Great Dao is formless, yet it gives birth to heaven and earth; the Great Dao is without emotion, yet it governs the sun and moon..."
Qin Luo chuckled and said, "Didn't you notice that you can recite the Qingjing Jing even without me teaching you?"
"yes!"
"I'm so smart!"
The little dumpling was smiling happily.
Half an hour later, Qin Luo and his group arrived at an open plain. On the plain stood a massive ancient city with dilapidated walls that had not been repaired for a long time.
The ancient city is surrounded by sparse vegetation. This city is Nanling City, once the capital of the southern kingdom.
"Into the city! Into the city!"
My little one now enjoys going shopping.
Qin Luo gazed into the distance, further south of Nanling City, where a blood-red cloud stretched out.
In the distance, there were crimson peaks soaring into the clouds. Qin Luo's heart raced as he sensed the presence of fragments of the Heavenly Dao; that was the Southern Heavenly Peak.
It's not far.
We can arrive before dark.
Qin Luo didn't rush on his way because of the existence of the Heavenly Dao fragments. He took Xiao Tuanzi and Shi Tou into the city to stroll around. Nanling City was very large, but it was more deserted than many small towns.
The street is long.
There weren't many vendors on the street.
The little dumpling looked around and finally smelled the aroma. "Boss, I want to eat a pancake."
Qin Luo saw a sesame cake vendor on the street. He walked up to the stall and looked at the sign. It said that sesame cakes were two coins each and three for five coins. He took out five coins and called out with a smile, "Boss, three sesame cakes, please."
"Alright!"
The bald stall owner picked up three freshly baked sesame cakes, put them into a paper bag, and said warmly, "Taoist Master, take care!"
Qin Luo shared the freshly baked sesame cakes with Xiao Tuanzi and Shi Tou. They ate the sesame cakes together. The outside was golden brown and crispy, while the inside was soft, chewy, and sweet. There was also sugar in the sesame cakes, although not much, but they tasted very sweet.
"It smells so good!"
The little dumpling beamed with joy.
Shi Tou nodded in agreement, his little face serious as he said, "Eating sesame cakes is more cost-effective than eating candied hawthorns."
As they passed by a restaurant, the little dumpling smelled the aroma of meat wafting from inside and winked mischievously, "Boss, let's go into the restaurant and have a good meal."
Qin Luo chuckled and said, "I don't have that much money."
"I have money!"
The little dumpling took out a copper coin from its pocket.
Seeing her adorable appearance, Qin Luo smiled and said, "If you really have a few hundred coins, let's go in and have a good meal."
"Next time."
When the little dumpling heard that it would cost several hundred coins, she was a little reluctant to spend the money. She now understood that making money was not easy, so she might as well buy more melon seeds to eat slowly on the way.
Stone saw a brother and sister on the street. The brother looked to be seven or eight years old, and the sister was only four or five years old. They were wearing tattered clothes and kneeling on the ground begging.
Seeing their pitiful state, Stone thought of his past self. He handed the boy the sesame cake he hadn't finished eating and gave all the copper coins he had to the brother and sister.
The older brother handed the sesame cake to his younger sister, then repeatedly kowtowed to the stone in gratitude.
Stone was at a loss. He knelt down and said, "You don't need to thank me. You must live well."
Qin Luo smiled as he looked at the wooden sign next to the brother and sister, which read that their mother was seriously ill in bed and needed money for treatment, hoping that kind-hearted people could help.
Looking at the writing on the wooden board, Qin Luo asked, "Who wrote these words for you?"
The boy looked up and pointed to a spot not far away. "It was written for us by that old fortune teller. He said that as long as we earn enough money, he will help my mother get treatment."
Qin Luo looked at the old man sitting on the street not far away, dressed in a gray-blue Taoist robe. He was thin and frail, and there was a flag standing on the table with the three big characters "Left Half Immortal" written on it.
His place seemed to be doing poorly.
The old man in the Taoist robe looked at Qin Luo with a smile, stroking his goatee, looking somewhat strange.
Qin Luo walked towards the old man.
Shi Tou quickly got up and followed behind Qin Luo.
Qin Luo approached the old man, and the old man in the Taoist robe who had been sitting stood up. They both bowed in greeting.
