Qin Luo traveled to a world of cultivation where demons ran rampant. To protect himself, he came to the Dragon and Tiger Monastery to learn from a master, only to find out that his master was a swi...
Beep—beep—
A horn blared outside the window.
Qin Luo knew that her father had returned.
Before long, light footsteps came, and Qin Xi pushed open the door. She smiled and said in a clear voice, "Xiao Luo, Daddy brought back barbecue. Get up quickly."
Qin Luo was very weak. He just wanted to lie in bed and rest. He didn't want his family to worry, so he endured the pain and dragged his tired body out of bed.
We went downstairs.
Qin Luo saw his mother complaining, and Xia Yan said with a stern face, "All you do is waste money."
Yes, yes, yes.
Qin You nodded with a smile.
"dad."
Qin Luo shouted with a smile.
Qin You handed the roasted chicken leg sprinkled with cumin to Qin Luo. The chicken leg was fragrant and steaming hot. "Son, this chicken leg is yours. You have to get a few more points next time."
"Uh-huh."
Qin Luo nodded and smiled slightly.
Qin Xi ate her grilled chicken wings, chewing slowly and revealing her snow-white teeth. "Dad is the best."
"Your mom is still the best."
Qin You handed Xia Yan a skewer of lamb, saying, "Wife, you work the hardest taking care of the kids."
"Don't waste money next time. Look how fat they are. Even Uncle San calls Xiao Luo 'Little Fatty.'" Xia Yan complained about Qin You's wasteful spending, but she had a smile on her face.
"Uncle was joking,"
Qin You couldn't stop smiling.
Qin Xi grinned and said, "Hehe, I won't get fat, so I can eat a couple more skewers of lamb."
Looking at the smile on his father's face, Qin Luo said softly, "Dad, you shouldn't be hauling goods anymore."
Qin You was taken aback.
Xia Yan explained with a smile, "Xiao Luo felt sorry for you because you were working so hard. He even told me to stop embroidering today."
Qin You snapped out of his reverie and said earnestly, "Dad doesn't have it hard. Your grandpa is seventy years old and still forging iron. Compared to him, we have it so much easier."
Qin Luo knew that a few years later, Qin You would be in a car accident while transporting goods, his left leg would be crushed, and he would have to have it amputated above the knee, which would be a huge blow to the whole family.
Seeing Qin Luo lost in thought, Qin You reminded him, "Eat it while it's hot, it won't taste good when it's cold."
"Uh-huh."
Qin Luo considered whether to explain, but he hesitated. Once he opened his mouth, it might involve cause and effect. If this wasn't a dream, he might never be able to return to the right time.
Qin You poured himself a glass of wine and peeled boiled peanuts, eating them with relish. Xia Yan ate a skewer of lamb and continued embroidering the painting "Harmony Brings Prosperity." Qin Xi finished her chicken wings and then continued eating lamb skewers while doing her homework. Qin Luo watched them and felt the warmth of home.
"I'm going to sleep."
After finishing his chicken leg, Qin Luo turned and went upstairs.
Qin You exclaimed, "There are still so many lamb skewers left, Xixi, you must eat more."
Qin Xi ran to wash her hands and said crisply, "Dad, I don't want to get fat, you guys eat."
Xia Yan said softly, "The children are all very sensible now."
Qin You nodded.
The couple smiled at each other.
Back in his bedroom, Qin Luo lay on the bed to rest. He adjusted his breathing until he found the most comfortable rhythm. A sweet taste filled his mouth, and his body gradually relaxed, as if he were floating on the water, becoming one with the world.
The room was filled with starlight, and Qin Luo was enveloped in a soft glow, like a thin veil.
The next day, early morning.
Qin Luo opened his eyes. Although his broken bones had not healed, his energy and spirit had improved a lot.
The roar of a truck starting up could be heard outside the window; Qin Luo knew his father was going to drive a long-distance truck.
Qin Luo changed his clothes and came downstairs. Qin Xi was sitting at the table peeling eggs. She looked at Qin Luo with some surprise, "Xiao Luo, it's the weekend today, why don't you sleep in a little longer?"
"I'm awake."
Qin Luo replied with a smile.
Xia Yan, carrying a basket on her back, prepared to go to the market. She said softly, "Xiao Luo, the eggs and milk are on the table. Don't run around at home while I'm at the market."
"knew."
Qin Luo sat at the dining table.
Qin Xi blinked and raised an eyebrow. "Mom, I want a butterfly hair clip."
"If you get first place in the monthly exam, I'll buy it for you."
"no problem!"
Qin Xi readily agreed.
After breakfast, Qin Xi took Xia Yan's hand and went out. Her sister would go to school to study on weekends. As soon as they left, Qin Luo went out. He looked at the big locust tree, intending to investigate, but in the end, he chose to walk towards the blacksmith's shop.
Grandpa Qin Dahai and Grandma Liu Cuiyun live in an old house with decades of history. It is one of the few houses in the village with earthen walls. Next door to the old house is a blacksmith shop.
"Woof woof woof!"
A four-eyed dog was tied up near the blacksmith's shop. Qin Luo smiled slightly and said softly, "Yellow Eyebrows."
Huangmei wagged its tail at Qin Luo. Because of rabies, many dogs in the village had been beaten to death. In order to save Huangmei, Grandpa spent money to get it vaccinated.
"You're not allowed to play around here at the blacksmith's shop."
Qin Dahai came out of the house carrying a bowl of rice soup. He was wearing a thin autumn shirt, had a full head of white hair, and several long wrinkles on his forehead. Although he was a blacksmith, he was very thin and did not look very strong.
"grandfather."
Qin Luo remained calm and grinned, "I just came to see you all. I'll be leaving soon."
Qin Dahai squatted down and scooped at the rice soup in his bowl. He no longer had a stern face and said softly, "Grandpa is going to the city in a while. Tell me what you need and I'll buy it for you."
Qin Luo still remembers that her grandfather went to the city to buy bicycles for her and her brother. Qin Dahai carried the two bicycles for dozens of miles along the mountain road. Later, when Qin You learned about this, he said three words in a speechless tone, "I'm impressed."
Qin Luo smiled and said, "Grandpa, I don't want anything else. That iron ring is enough for me."
