Qin Luo traveled to a world of cultivation where demons ran rampant. To protect himself, he came to the Dragon and Tiger Monastery to learn from a master, only to find out that his master was a swi...
Jinghu Academy, Jade Carving Class.
Qin Luo smiled as he entered the classroom. A group of eight- or nine-year-old children watched him, their eyes clear and their posture upright.
"Dean!"
"Dean!!"
The children had bright smiles on their faces.
Qin Luo nodded with a smile.
There's still a little time before class starts, but the classroom is already full. Everyone knows Qin Luo is coming to class, so they've all arrived early to wait.
Their eyes were filled with expectation.
Qin Luo said softly, "Zhou Yan."
"arrive!"
The little boy sitting in the first row stood up, and Qin Luo smiled and nodded, "Sit down."
"Lu Sheng."
"arrive!"
"Zhang Zhongzhao".
"arrive!"
Qin Luo called out all the children's names. After taking attendance, he smiled and said softly, "My name is Qin Luo. I will be giving you lessons from now on. Remember, what I say may not be correct. You must learn to think and verify."
The children in the audience listened attentively.
As the sun rises, its rays stream into the classroom, bright and warm, while the melodious chimes of the academy resound.
"Hello, Dean!"
The children stood up and bowed.
Qin Luo smiled and nodded. He picked up the chalk, turned around, and wrote a large and neat poem on the blackboard.
"Let's continue with what Teacher Linglong taught. 'You give me a peach, I return you a precious jade.' It's not just a repayment, but a token of lasting friendship!" Qin Luo's voice was soft, yet it resonated throughout every corner of the classroom.
Does anyone know the meaning of this poem?
"I...I...I..."
Many children raised their hands.
Qin Luo could see everyone's enthusiasm for learning. His gaze fell on some children who hadn't raised their hands. Noticing Qin Luo's gaze, some children quickly lowered their heads.
Linglong had already covered about a third of the poem. Qin Luo could gauge everyone's understanding by asking questions. Instead of deliberately calling on children who didn't know the answer, he looked at the most excited little boy in front of the podium and said, "Li Guannan, you answer."
Li Guannan stood up. He was dressed in tattered clothes, but his eyes were full of confidence. He said in a clear voice, "You gave me a wooden peach, and I gave you a beautiful jade. It's not just about repaying you, but also about wanting us to be good friends forever."
"That's a very good answer."
Qin Luo gestured for him to sit down.
Li Guannan sat down and straightened his back.
Qin Luo led the applause, and the younger students in the classroom followed suit. Li Guannan proudly puffed out his chest. Some of the children who weren't chosen were envious, while others felt fortunate.
"Which is more precious, a peach or a beautiful jade?"
Qin Luo asked another question.
"A beautiful jade!"
"A beautiful jade!"
The children all said in unison.
Qin Luo shook his head. "Not necessarily."
The younger students in the classroom were talking amongst themselves.
Li Guannan raised his hand.
Qin Luo gestured for him to answer.
"Dean, Teacher Linglong said that the value of jade far exceeds that of papaya and peach, and this is common knowledge. Jade is very valuable and can buy a lot of papaya and peach."
"You're absolutely right. That's exactly what I was saying about you needing to learn to question. Teachers aren't always right. You can listen to my reasons."
Qin Luo smiled and said softly, "If you were trapped in the desert, with no food and about to starve to death, and someone passed by and offered you a wooden peach and a piece of jade, but you could only choose one, what would you choose?"
"Wooden peach!"
The children called out "wood peach" one after another.
Li Guannan suddenly realized, "I understand."
"The same item has different values in different environments, and the value of the item also varies depending on where we are. Whether we give a papaya or a piece of jade is not important. What is important is that it is not about expecting a return. Giving is not about seeking a reward, but about expressing emotions. Family affection, love, and friendship are all things that cannot be measured by money."
Qin Luo pointed to the poem on the blackboard and said softly, "You give me a peach, I return you a precious jade. It's not just a repayment, but a token of lasting friendship!"
"You gave me a peach in return..."
The children in the classroom recited along loudly.
Qin Luo then wrote on the blackboard: "You gave me a plum, I returned a precious jade. It's not just a repayment, but a token of our lasting friendship!"
Does anyone know the meaning of this poem?
"I...I...I..."
More children raised their hands than before.
Qin Luo looked at the little girl who hadn't raised her hand before but was now raising it, "Liu Siyu, you answer."
Liu Siyu, with her hair in pigtails, stood up, her eyes bright and clear, and said crisply, "You gave me the plum tree, and I'm giving you the jade. It's not just about repaying you, but also about wishing our relationship to last forever."
"That's a good answer."
Qin Luo clapped, and the younger students in the classroom followed suit. Liu Siyu's face flushed slightly, and she smiled.
"You can sit down after you finish answering the questions."
"Thank you, Dean."
Liu Siyu bowed and then sat down.
Qin Luo read the entire poem aloud, and the younger students in the classroom followed suit, reading it aloud as well.
Zi Mu was cleaning outside the classroom. He felt that the atmosphere inside the classroom was very relaxed. When Linglong taught the jade carving class before, the atmosphere inside the classroom was very tense. He was very careful when cleaning outside, afraid of making any noise.
Qin Luo translated the entire poem, then said with a smile, "Now, based on this poem, you will create a short story. This is the first assignment I'm giving you."
"Let's start writing now."
The classroom quickly fell silent as everyone took out their scrap paper and held their willow charcoal pencils.
Qin Luo walked back and forth in the classroom. Some children were very smart and wrote quickly with charcoal pencils, while others scratched their heads, not knowing what to write, and it took them a long time to come up with a solution.
