Qin Luo traveled to a world of cultivation where demons ran rampant. To protect himself, he came to the Dragon and Tiger Monastery to learn from a master, only to find out that his master was a swi...
Night fell, and snow fell heavily.
Sunset Peak was soon covered in a silvery coat.
Qin Luo returned to the outside of Longhu Temple and saw Zhang Fulong standing by the mountain path gazing into the distance. He said softly, "Master, it's getting cold. Go back and rest early."
"It's alright, I just want to watch the snow for a while."
Zhang Fulong waved his hand.
Qin Luo took out two withered wild fruits, smiled, and said softly, "Master, I just helped Old Dong carry firewood. These are for me. Please try them."
Zhang Fulong swallowed hard, then coughed, clenching his fist, and said, "I'm not hungry, you can give it to Caixia and Jinyan."
"Master, I still have some on me, you can take them." Qin Luo put two wild fruits into Zhang Fulong's pocket.
During this period, Longhu Temple had little incense offerings, so there were no edible offerings. Zhang Fulong could only drink porridge every day, and seeing wild fruits would naturally make his mouth water.
Xiaodie was sweeping the floor when Qin Luo walked into the Taoist temple and handed her a wild fruit. "Xiaodie, you can sweep again tomorrow morning."
"Thank you, Master Dao!"
Xiaodie held the wild fruit, her face beaming with joy. She regarded the cracked wild fruit in her hand as a treasure, feeling that it was even more precious than the golden lotus seed she had obtained in the Azure Emperor's Secret Realm.
Perhaps because of the large number of people, the backyard of the Taoist temple was very warm. Jin Yan sat cross-legged on the Taoist platform, meditating and cultivating. Cai Xia was telling Lin Jia'er a story. The little dumpling was lying on the bamboo chair with her legs crossed, holding a gourd in her arms and a brand-new storybook in her hand, occasionally letting out chirping laughter.
Qin Luo took out the last two wild fruits and said softly, "I have two more wild fruits here. Who wants to eat them?"
The little girl put down her storybook and glanced at it. "Big brother, did Grandpa Dong give this to you?"
"Yes."
Qin Luo nodded.
"He's the only one in the entire Ziyun Mountain Range who would pick up wild fruits that even sparrows wouldn't want, because these fruits don't taste good."
The little dumpling continued reading the storybook in its hands.
Jin Yan opened his eyes and grinned, "Senior brother, I used to eat this kind of fruit often. Why don't you let Junior Sister Caixia try it? She has never eaten this kind of fruit before."
Qin Luo gave the two wild fruits to Caixia and Lin Jiaer.
"Thank you, senior brother."
"Thank you, Uncle Qin."
After Caixia and Lin Jia'er finished eating the wild fruit, Qin Luo asked curiously, "How did it taste?"
Caixia blinked her big eyes. "Senior brother, I can't taste the flavor, but the fruit you gave me must be good."
Lin Jia'er shook her head slightly, "Uncle Qin, this fruit doesn't taste good, it tastes just like the medicine I drank at home when I was a child."
Zhang Fulong was freezing, so he returned to Longhu Temple. As he entered the backyard of the temple, Qin Luo asked with a smile, "Master, how does the wild fruit taste?"
"It's delicious, and sweet."
Zhang Fulong squinted and nodded.
Actually, Zhang Fulong hadn't eaten any yet. He gave one to the gatekeeper, Jinjiao, and kept the other in his pocket, reluctant to eat it.
......
Time flies.
The following year, on the fifteenth of September.
The autumn wind is bleak, and the cicadas chirp mournfully.
Jin Yan saw off the last person who came to the Taoist temple to offer incense and pray for blessings. Little Tuanzi and Lin Jia'er ran out of Longhu Temple with happy faces. They were as energetic as the wind.
"Uncle, we're going to Chenjiagou for a feast."
"Be careful on the road."
"knew."
Jin Yan arrived at the depths of the Taoist temple and knocked on the door. "Master, my senior brother would like to invite you to a feast in Chenjiagou."
Zhang Fulong thought there was a funeral in Chenjiagou. He coughed and said, "You can go for this kind of thing. Remember to eat well. Your master won't go."
"Disciple understands."
Jin Yan turned and left.
In the backyard of the Taoist temple, Qin Luo looked at Xiao Die who was sweeping the floor and said, "Xiao Die, come with us to join the fun."
Xiaodie was a little embarrassed and said with her lips pursed, "Master Dao, but I'm not familiar with the Mountain God."
"You'll get to know them once you get there."
Qin Luo smiled slightly.
"Uh-huh."
Xiaodie nodded obediently.
Not long after, Zhang Fulong left the room and went to the backyard of the Taoist temple. Looking at the empty courtyard, with only peach blossoms falling, the entire temple was eerily quiet.
Zhang Fulong stood there in the courtyard for a long time, then went into the kitchen. There was still some warm porridge in the pot. He drank a bowl of porridge and there was some left. He thought of feeding it to Jinjiao. He carried the half bowl of porridge to the outside of the Taoist temple, but he did not see Jinjiao.
It seemed that Qin Luo and the others had taken Jinjiao to the banquet. Zhang Fulong couldn't help but smile wryly. He sat at the highest point of the mountain path, silently drinking his porridge.
After nightfall, the moon and stars were few and far between.
In Chenjiagou, Chen Xingzhou's old house is adorned with red lanterns and red "double happiness" characters pasted on the walls.
The courtyard was bustling with activity. All the mountain gods and local deities from the Ziyun Mountains had arrived. Chen Chang'an and Hongyao, dressed in red, stood outside the gate welcoming guests from all directions.
With the barrier set up by Chen Chang'an around them, their movements would not affect the surrounding people.
Xiao Tuanzi and Lin Jiaer were the first to arrive at Chenjiagou.
The little dumpling took out two snow-white jade stones, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Old Chen, I found these in the mountains. They happen to be a pair, so I'm giving them to you as a gift."
"Thank you, Great Protector." Chen Chang'an and Hongyao beamed as they accepted the little dumpling's gift.
Lin Jia'er took out the couplet she had written. "Mountain God, this is what I wrote. I hope you like it."
"Well written."
"I like."
Chen Chang'an smiled.
Hongyao smiled gently, "Great Protector, there's candy inside. Why don't you come in and have some candy?"
The little dumpling led Lin Jia'er into the courtyard, and they sat down next to Linglong.
"Sister Linglong, what did you give me?"
Linglong smiled gently, "It's a luminous pearl I gave you."
The little dumpling's eyes widened. "It must be very expensive!"
Linglong smiled gently, "Fortunately, the Earth God of Mirror Lake gave us a landscape painting, which contains a hidden world; that is the real treasure."
