Huangye Town.

The town is nestled against the mountains and beside the water.

Qin Luo and his group walked along the deserted streets.

Chu Peiran looked around and said softly, "I have encountered villages where demons and evil spirits wreak havoc, which are like purgatory. If it were really demons and evil spirits wreak havoc, this place would not be so peaceful."

Qin Luo's eyes gleamed with golden light as he saw the lingering demonic aura on the ground. "A demon has been to this town recently."

Gui Chen pointed in the direction of the mountains and forests, "That monster is on the mountain behind the town. Let's go take a look."

Chu Peiran nodded, "Let's give it a little surprise."

On the way to the mountains, Qin Luo noticed a local earth god temple at the foot of the mountain. The temple had been renovated, with incense burners filled with ash and candles burning.

Qin Luo saw a local earth god in the temple and said, "Let's go over there and ask the earth god about the situation here."

"That makes sense."

Gui Chen and Chu Peiran nodded.

"Landlord, come out and greet me!"

After a decree was issued, an invisible force invited the Earth God of Huangye Town out of the temple.

The local earth god of Huangye Town has yellow eyebrows, as if they have been dyed yellow by incense. He is about the same size as a normal old man. Among all the earth gods Qin Luo has seen, he is the most successful.

"So you're a great immortal! I'm so sorry for not greeting you sooner!"

The local earth god of Huangye Town bowed with a smile.

Qin Luo said with a serious expression, "The townspeople say that there are evil spirits causing trouble in this place. Why are you sitting idly by?"

The local earth god of Huangye Town bowed his head and said, "Great Immortal, the monsters on the mountain are too powerful, and this humble god is powerless to help."

Qin Luo frowned slightly. The local earth god before him was not weak. "With your strength, even if you can't kill the monster on the mountain, driving it away shouldn't be a problem."

"It seems they're in cahoots."

Chu Peiran felt that there was something wrong with the Earth God.

The local earth god of Huangye Town was so frightened that he knelt on the ground and said, "Great Immortal, I will go and drive away that pig demon right now."

"Take us to see the pig demon."

Qin Luo wanted to know why the pig demon was causing trouble.

The local earth god of Huangye Town dared not refuse, and he led Qin Luo and the others to a cave located halfway up the mountain.

Even standing outside the cave, one could smell a strong odor of alcohol. Qin Luo and his companions entered the cave, which was very clean inside. One wall was lined with neatly arranged wine jars. At the deepest part of the cave, there was a wide stone bed on which lay a pig demon with a pig's head and a human body. The pig was fat and snoring soundly, sleeping soundly.

"You beast."

"Get out of here now!"

The local earth god of Huangye Town shouted.

"Old Huang, can't you let me, the old pig, rest for a couple of days?" The pig demon, still half asleep, saw the Earth God of Huangye Town, and Qin Luo and the others standing behind him.

The pig demon lazily rolled over, recalling the scene he had just witnessed: a young Taoist priest, a tall monk, and a refined scholar. His drunken state instantly sobered him up.

"Old Huang, what's going on?"

The pig demon suddenly sat up.

"Who is Old Huang? I don't know you." The Earth God of Huangye Town said with a dark face, sensing that disaster was about to befall him.

Qin Luo said calmly, "Confess and you will be treated leniently."

The pig demon realized something was wrong and, without thinking, knelt down on the ground with a thud. "My surname is Pig, and I am the sixth in my family. You can call me Pig Sixth. I come from Changye Mountain in the north. I have been wandering around for a long time. Old Huang took me in and told me to cause trouble in town. I did not refuse. I am guilty."

Qin Luo and Chu Peiran were both surprised that the pig demon would confess so quickly. The local earth god of Huangye Town immediately knelt on the ground, "Great Immortal, I know I was wrong. I didn't want to be forgotten by the people, so I sent Pig Six to cause trouble in the town."

The pig demon knelt down and kowtowed, "Great Immortal, I, Old Pig, was young and ignorant. Please spare my life."

Qin Luo looked at Chu Peiran and Gui Chen, "What do you two think we should do with them?"

Chu Peiran coughed, clenching his fist. "As a deity, instead of working for the well-being of the people, he does evil deeds. I suggest sending him back to the underworld. The pig demon aided and abetted the wicked, and his crime deserves to be punished!"

"Great Immortal, spare my life!"

The local earth god of Huangye Town kowtowed repeatedly.

The pig demon collapsed forward, lying on the ground awaiting death with a look of utter despair. "Old Huang, do you know anyone in the underworld? I want to be a rich, handsome, and successful man in my next life."

"I want to too!"

The Earth God of Huangye Town wiped away his tears.

Chu Peiran shook his head. "I never imagined the Underworld would be in such a rotten state. It's time to clean it up."

Gui Chen said softly, "It is a great virtue to admit one's mistakes and correct them. This humble monk hopes to give them a chance."

"The master is right!"

The pig demon and the local earth god of Huangye Town nodded at the same time.

Chu Peiran looked at Qin Luo and said softly, "We are just suggesting that you handle this, Brother Dao."

"This humble monk agrees!"

Gui Chen nodded in agreement.

Qin Luo listened to their opinions and said in a deep voice, "We haven't encountered any ghosts or spirits nearby. It's clear that you've done something for the area. But you've been up to no good, and according to the rules of Heaven, you will be destroyed, body and soul."

The local earth god of Huangye Town hurriedly reminded him, "Great Immortal, the Heavenly Court is long gone. We all obey the Underworld. The Underworld's rules are eighty strokes of the cane and exile for a hundred miles."

Qin Luo thought it made sense and said seriously, "The merits cannot outweigh the demerits. Forty strokes of the cane and fifty li of exile."

"Thank you so much, Master!"

The local earth god of Huangye Town kowtowed to express his gratitude.

Qin Luo looked at the pig demon and said, "You carry out the execution."

"Okay."

The pig demon scrambled to his feet with a delighted expression. He looked around but couldn't find a suitable weapon. Then he saw the monk's staff in Gui Chen's hand. "Master, could I borrow it?"

Gui Chen nodded slightly.

The pig demon nearly fell over when it took the staff. The staff was extremely heavy, and the pig demon used all its strength to barely lift it. It stared wide-eyed and said, "Old Huang, you'd better lie down right now!"

The local earth god of Huangye Town was so frightened that his scalp tingled. He lay on his bed, winking and making faces at the pig demon.
