Muran Jin stared at the man lying on the bed, unsure what expression to wear.
As the Regent of the Great Lan Kingdom, she dedicated herself to state affairs, only to find herself pursued by t...
Ling Qiao'er sat on the balcony, watching the departing figure, when someone patted her on the shoulder and said, "Stop looking, the Regent belongs to everyone."
Ling Qiao'er snorted, "But the Regent is really handsome."
"Absolutely, we've watched the Regent grow up since we were little."
Upon hearing this, Ling Qiao'er asked, "Brother Jin, tell me about it. You've spent the longest time in the capital. Is the Regent really the kind of person the storyteller described, a man of integrity and elegance since childhood?"
The waiter, nicknamed Brother Jin, smiled mysteriously. "Of course, but the Regent Prince was quite mischievous when he was young and liked to fight."
Ling Qiao'er's eyes lit up; it was just like what was described in the book.
"Quickly, tell me about it tonight."
………
Yi Er pushed Murong Jin back to the manor, "Master, what did that girl say to you today? Was there anything I couldn't hear?"
Murong Jin: "Mm."
Yi Er: "..."
"Aww, Master, don't you love me anymore? Why did you answer so confidently! You even hummed in agreement!!!"
Murong Jin rolled her eyes at him. "It's not a very important matter, but the young lady probably wouldn't want others to hear what she said, would she?"
Yi Er understood immediately upon hearing this. "I see. But, does that Qiao'er girl have a special relationship with you, Master? The way she looks at you is full of admiration."
It's a pity that the master is a woman, otherwise this Qiao'er girl would be very beautiful. More importantly, she has a free and straightforward personality. The master likes to keep things to herself, so she needs someone like this by her side.
Murong Jin listened to his incessant chatter, "Where are your peach blossom luck?"
When Yi Er thought of Ning Sheng, she said, "Ah, I'm fine."
"I didn't ask you."
Yi Er: "..."
It was already afternoon when they returned to the palace. Murong Jin glanced outside the courtyard and saw that Emperor Junlan had not yet arrived, presumably because he had something to attend to.
Yi Er: "The steward just said that someone came to deliver a message saying that His Majesty will not be arriving until tonight."
Murong Jin nodded and said, "Arrange a room for him."
"OK."
Sitting in the courtyard, next to a stone table, on which sat Murong Jin's favorite flower tea.
Yi Er stood not far away, awaiting orders. Before long, another person joined him. "You don't look too well today. What's wrong?"
Yi Yi stood beside him and asked, "Could it be that he's been bothered by that Ning Sheng again?"
Yi Er glanced at him and said, "Don't talk nonsense. Ning Sheng and I are completely innocent."
"Oh, so you're asking why Ning Sheng likes you? Aren't you afraid that when two men are together, the whole world will know? And that he'll end up being ridiculed and insulted?"
"Besides, isn't he just a courtesan?"
The courtesan, needless to say, has probably been with many people...
Yi Er immediately covered his mouth, "Yi Yi, can you please stop talking about how others are like this and that? It's really impolite of you."
Yi raised an eyebrow slightly. This kid, he hadn't even said anything yet. "Okay, I won't talk nonsense, but if you really don't like someone, you'd better just reject them directly. Don't give them any hope, or you'll hurt them."
Yi Er paused for a moment, then said, "I know."
He had refused many times, but Ning Sheng just kept pestering him.
Seeing his appearance, she couldn't help but say, "I heard that the courtesan seems to have left, but I don't know where she went."
Yi Er was taken aback. "Left?"
Where can he go?
Generally, people with this kind of identity have either been sold by their family or trafficked...
That person is so petite...where could they go?
Even if I went somewhere, could I survive safely?
Yi Yi didn't miss the struggle and seriousness on Yi Er's face. This kid was probably already moved by her, and he was definitely smitten without even realizing it...
He patted Yi Er on the shoulder and said, "This is good too. At least he won't bother you anymore, and you won't have to reject him every day."
Yi Er felt uneasy and depressed listening to his words.
Yi Yi is right. He got rid of Ning Sheng's entanglement, but why does he still feel unhappy?
Murong Jin took a sip of tea, then looked at the open storybook. At first, it seemed normal; the protagonist's tragic family background was meant to encourage him to persevere and strive for the life he desired...
But in the end, she was ruined by a man, which made her have to drink a sip of tea to calm her nerves.
Moreover, she felt that the protagonist's personality was quite similar to someone else's.
However, she was probably overthinking it. There are too many people with similar personalities, and Di Junlan is not the only one.
Murong Jin looked at the two people opposite her. Yi Yi said something to Yi Er, and Yi Er looked somewhat at a loss.
A figure appeared beside him shortly afterward. "Master."
"What's wrong?"
Jin Shisan: "Jin Si sent a letter saying that some people in Wumang Kingdom have started recruiting soldiers."
Murong Jin paused, "Has the matter been investigated thoroughly?"
"It seems they want to infiltrate the border cities of Dacheng and slowly take over."
Murong Jin chuckled, "Oh? Is that so? Let them come, let Jin Si make the arrangements, and then have Yi Liu take some men to assist him."
Jin Shisan: "Yes."
As I left, I glanced at Yi Er and the others not far away, then shook my head. How come these two have so much gossip every day?
Their master is too lenient with them.
"Thirteen."
As he turned around, he was called back, "Master, Thirteen is here."
"I remember you're about twenty-nine, aren't you?"
"Yes, that's right."
