Jiang Ling'er had a great appearance, a great family background, and she even picked her own husband. He had great looks, knowledge, and character. In short, she was blessed with good fortune.<...
Chapter 21 021 "Don't worry, no one will die. It's just a pile of wood..."
Jiang Ling'er's pupils contracted, and she unleashed a "Thunderclap" attack, severing one of the puppet's arms and one of its legs. However, the puppet was not an ordinary person made of bone and blood; it felt no pain. It didn't even pause its attacking movements or momentum for the slightest, charging straight towards her with a chilling killing intent!
Jiang Ling'er unleashed another "Thunder" attack, severing the heads of three or four puppets that were charging straight at her. The puppets then fell to the ground, completely disintegrated, and remained motionless.
There were simply too many puppets, each only half-height, small and agile. Jiang Ling'er couldn't possibly have four hands, so she inevitably had to cover the front while neglecting the rear. Fortunately, although these puppets were ruthless and vicious, they didn't take lives. But she still suffered a lot, constantly being hit or bitten by them.
Yes, this puppet can bite. Once it bites you, it won't let go no matter what, and you have to break its head to stop it!
Jiang Ling'er hissed softly, ripped the doll that was biting her left shoulder off and threw it to the ground. Seeing that it was about to pounce again, she stepped on its head, making it unable to move. But in the blink of an eye, her right arm was bitten again!
She had never seen anything so strange and exquisite before; it wasn't difficult to break but was incredibly bothersome. She was simultaneously angry, furious, and astonished.
"What...what is this thing?!"
“Mechanical puppets.” After twisting the heads of three more puppets with his bare hands, the little poisoner suddenly said, “I’m tired, I’m not fighting anymore.”
Jiang Ling'er paused, and took a look during a break in the fight. She saw that the little poisoner had indeed stopped fighting and silently appeared behind the blind woman, staring at her thin neck. He was ready to snap her neck if she made the slightest movement!
It was only then that Jiang Ling'er realized that all the puppets had tacitly avoided the blind woman and were only attacking her and the little poisoner. Once the little poisoner hid behind the blind woman, she was the only target left, and they all swarmed around her!
Jiang Ling'er had never seen anything like this before. Even that night at the inn, the group that surrounded her was just a bunch of cowardly rats who clung to life. But this time, they were truly a group of fearless... no, they were superb assassins who didn't even care about their own lives!
A chill ran down her spine. She stepped on the head of the puppet that was lunging at her, and used the momentum to leap behind the blind woman!
Just as she was about to land steadily behind the blind woman, a bright green bamboo flute appeared out of nowhere and hit her on the forehead. Jiang Ling'er felt the pain and fell back down!
She clutched her forehead, which had instantly turned red, staring incredulously at the little poisonous creature. For a moment, she forgot all about master and servant, and immediately burst into a tirade:
What are you doing!
The little poisoner peeked out from behind the blind woman, revealing a pale, jade-like face, and spoke frankly:
There's no room left.
Jiang Ling'er paused, then flew into a rage: "You!!!"
It's retaliation! Absolutely retaliation!
He absolutely did it on purpose!!!
She knew this kid was petty, but she didn't expect him to be this petty!
Before she could think further, or even get angry, the chilling sound of gears turning rang out. With a "crack," pairs of dead fish-like eyes in the small room all turned to her. Her hair stood on end, and she sprang up from the ground, running frantically around the room!
Before long, he was surrounded by a swarm of puppets, and could only beat her Thunder Palm back and forth like a trapped beast, looking quite pathetic.
Jiang Ling'er struggled to defend herself while roaring at the little poisonous creature:
"You need to think of something quickly!"
The little poisonous creature frowned and said impatiently, "I was just thinking about it, don't make a sound!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he grabbed the blind woman by the throat, his face darkening as he stared at her unfocused, dim eyes, and said in a cold, sinister voice:
"Tell them to stop, or I'll kill you."
"Big Brother...Big Brother, what are you saying? What happened? Who were you fighting with? Are you hurt? Are you badly hurt?!"
Even though their lives were in his hands, the blind woman seemed more worried about their situation, tears welling in her eyes as she repeatedly inquired about their safety. The little poisoner gritted his teeth and clicked his tongue, "You're asking for it." He tightened his grip on her neck, watching the aged face before him gradually turn pale. The old woman, after her initial panic, calmed down, realizing that her eldest son was trying to kill her. A fleeting look of bewilderment and piercing pain crossed her dim eyes. She struggled only twice instinctively before giving up.
His eyes were closed, a look of calm acceptance of death.
The little poisoner paused, abruptly stopped, stared at the old woman who had collapsed on the ground, clutching her neck and coughing violently, his face ashen, ran his fingers through his hair, and after a long while cursed under his breath.
grass
There's no other way.
"What do you mean 'no way'?!" Jiang Ling'er was stunned. She caught a glimpse of the little poisonous creature's dejected look out of the corner of her eye, and her heart sank. She was dumbfounded. "We...are we going to die?"
She hesitated only slightly before hanging two more puppets on her left arm, three more on her right arm, and dragging one on each of her legs, looking both ridiculous and pitiful.
Especially now, with that bewildered look on his face, he looks so pitiful.
The little poisoner glanced at Jiang Ling'er with his sinister eyes, paused, and then actually laughed out loud.
"You...you can still laugh out loud?!"
Jiang Ling'er immediately raised her voice, now she was really angry. After the fierce battle the night before, she was exhausted. She gritted her teeth and mustered the little strength she had left to shake off the puppets that were wrapped around her. With the idea that she might as well die together with them, she strode towards the little poisonous creature!
However, he stopped after taking only two steps, not only because he was entangled by those relentless puppets, but more importantly because of the smile on the little poisoner's face.
Unlike his usual cold, sarcastic, and malicious smile, this smile was cheerful and open-minded, like a small lamp illuminating the entire room.
Jiang Ling'er's meager literary talent can't describe it, anyway... it's very beautiful!
He took a while to stop laughing, wiping away the tears that had welled up in his eyes with his thumb, staring at her, and letting out a soft scoff:
"Don't worry, no one will die. It's just a pile of wood, what are you afraid of?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the little poisoner picked up the bamboo flute and snapped it in two with a very soft click. He glanced at Jiang Ling'er, then reverted to his arrogant and annoying self, and snorted coldly:
"Watch closely."
Jiang Ling'er stared intently, not even noticing that she was almost completely surrounded by the puppet. She saw the little poisonous creature pressing the bamboo flute to the ground, and after a while, it remained in the same position, seemingly unaffected... No, something was wrong. She frowned and stared intently again—
Countless tiny black insects, almost invisible to the naked eye, crawled out of the folded bamboo flute in a frantic rush!
They're crawling towards her!
She was startled, but in the blink of an eye, she heard the sound of an old gear turning, followed by a second and a third, and countless other sounds of machinery turning like a tidal wave. The puppets that were biting her limbs trembled nervously and suddenly fell apart and broke down!
In an instant, she was submerged in a small mountain of the puppet's severed "limbs"!
The little poisonous creature curled its lips into a smile, tapped its bamboo flute, and said with a hint of smugness:
"Good child, that piece of wood is too hard to chew. You can bite it, but you can't eat it. Come back."
As soon as he finished speaking, countless tiny insects crawled out of the small wooden mound as instructed, forming a thin, long line that crawled back into the bamboo flute.
