Yu Mo Wan lived for twenty years before discovering she was the fake daughter of the Yu family. The real daughter was brought home, and she was driven out of the house.
Upon being found by he...
"Oh, Fu Rong, I didn't know you liked to act like a mother-in-law so much now."
With his hands behind his back, Master Si interrupted Yun Yun, saying in a joking tone, "You're so stern, you almost scared me."
Fu Rong's expression stiffened.
She was so focused on putting on airs as a mother-in-law that she forgot Old Master Si was also there.
"Jiayu, you're here too."
After a long pause, she forced a smile and said, "Sit down and rest. You must be tired after flying for several hours."
Si Jiayu didn't sit down, and said with a half-smile, "If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have known you were so arrogant. You don't even care about your granddaughter coming back, and you only care about whether Xueyin has been wronged."
He paused, then deliberately said, "Anyone who doesn't know the truth would think you deliberately lost your granddaughter."
Fu Rong paused as she walked over, a flicker of panic crossing her eyes.
Why did Si Jiayu say that? Did he know something?
During that short journey, her mind was racing.
However, thinking that she had destroyed all the evidence back then, she was relieved that no one would be able to find anything.
"Jiayu, what are you saying? If I didn't welcome Xue Ru back, would Chu Xiao and the others have been searching for her for so many years?"
Fu Rong answered Si Jiayu's question first, then turned her affectionate gaze to Shu Xueyin. "I was just afraid that with Xueru back, everyone's attention would be on her, which would be unfair to Yinyin. That's why I wanted to remind them not to favor one over the other."
"Grandma, I'm not wronged. My sister was found after a lot of trouble, she's more important."
Shu Xueyin said softly, "As long as she's happy, I'd be happy even if she sent me away. My parents have loved me for over ten years, and I'm already very grateful."
"Nonsense! With me here, let's see who dares to send you away!"
Fu Rong patted her hand, her face suddenly darkening, and her sharp gaze swept over the crowd again as she spoke.
Shu Xueyin gently shook Fu Rong's hand and said in a coquettish tone, "Grandma, I was just saying, please don't be so fierce. My sister just came back, be careful not to scare her."
"Okay, I'll do as you say."
Fu Rong softened her tone.
She looked at Yu Mowan and saw that her young and pretty face resembled Yun Yun's. A hint of displeasure flashed in her eyes.
The conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is an age-old one. She disliked Yun Yun, and by extension, she hated Yu Mowan.
"Xueru, it's good that you're back. Remember to cherish your little sister Yinyin from now on."
Fu Rong said, "Although Yin Yin was adopted, she is well-educated, talented, gentle and lovely. You should learn from her."
"I heard you're twenty and still haven't graduated high school. That's really unacceptable. The Shu family doesn't have anyone as stupid as you..."
"Mom, Wanwan's grades are not good because she is neglected in the family. As long as she studies hard, she is no worse than anyone else."
Yun Yun interrupted in a deep voice.
Her youngest daughter had been missing for many years, and she felt nothing but guilt, and she wouldn't allow anyone to say a bad word about her.
"Grandma, my little sister is very smart."
Shu Lingyi also spoke up.
The remaining four, equally protective of their sister, exclaimed in unison, "Grandma, your sister is the cutest we've ever seen!"
Shu Chuxiao concluded, "Mom, Wanwan is Wanwan. Don't let her learn from anyone else in the future; she doesn't need to."
"Fine, you all, all I did was ask her to learn from Yin Yin, and you're making a big deal out of it. What, do you think that just because Xiao Ao is gone, you can bully a lonely old woman like me?"
Fu Rong clutched her chest, looking utterly devastated. "If you think you can't tolerate me, then I'll go down and find Xiao Ao right now."
After saying that, she actually ran towards the big pillar.
Shu Xueyin ran over to stop them, "Grandma, please don't do this, Dad and the others didn't mean it that way."
"Dad, please try to persuade Grandma."
She then turned to Shu Chuxiao and said.
Shu Chuxiao's brow twitched, and a hint of weariness flashed in his eyes.
Since his father passed away, his mother's behavior has become increasingly capricious. If things don't go her way, she'll threaten him with death.
"Medically speaking, hitting a pillar doesn't necessarily kill a person, but if the impact is too great, it can leave them with aftereffects such as dizziness, vertigo, concussion, and incoordination. Are you sure you want to hit it?"
Before Shu Chuxiao could speak, Yu Mowan's cold voice rang out, "If you insist on crashing, I can reluctantly help you stop the bleeding because of our blood relation, but I can't guarantee there won't be any aftereffects."
"..."
Fu Rong, who was usually very effective at threatening suicide, was so frightened by these aftereffects that she dared not move.
She just wanted to scare her son; she never intended to actually suffer.
Unable to ram her head against the pillar, she turned to Yu Mowan for fault, saying, "Shu Xueru, how can you be so vicious at such a young age, cursing me to die?"
Yu Mowan simply raised an eyebrow.
She could tell that this old lady of the Shu family was a troublesome and difficult person.
“Fu Rong, Xiao Xue Ru has just been found, and everyone is happy. If you insist on making a scene like this, don’t blame me if you hurt Chu Xiao’s feelings.”
Si Jiayu stood with his hands behind his back and gave a stern reminder.
Fu Rong's expression stiffened slightly again.
In order to make things difficult for Yu Mowan, she forgot about Si Jiayu again.
"Xueyin, my head hurts so much, please help me back to my room to rest."
Not wanting to openly confront Si Jiayu, she pretended to have a headache and slipped away.
After everyone leaves, she will properly establish the rules with Yu Mowan.
Shu Xueyin hurriedly helped her up and apologized to Si Jiayu and the others, saying, "Grandpa Si, Dad, Mom, Brother, I'll help Grandma upstairs to rest first."
After saying that, she helped the person upstairs.
Once she was out of everyone's sight, a flash of annoyance crossed her eyes.
She wanted to use Fu Rong to make Yu Mowan realize that even if the real heiress was found, she would still be the most important person at home. She didn't mean for Fu Rong to cause a scene with everyone.
