I used half my life to gain this great enlightenment. If I were to look back even once, I would deserve to die," Chen Lu said to himself after waking up.
He and Mo Yuqing had known each o...
"OK."
Chen Lu answered directly, but he didn't shout it out, feeling a little awkward.
"Can I call you Xiaolu?" the girl asked softly, fiddling with her fingers.
"You can call me whatever you want, but only elders call me that, it makes you sound old. I suggest you go straight to the point and call me husband."
"Let's call him Chen Lu..."
Liang Zhirou recalled that it seemed that only his elders would call him that.
Why give two names that each have one character? That's strange...
Chen Lu yawned lazily; he was really sleepy, but the girl still hadn't let go.
He wasn't in a hurry, and patiently waited for the other person to finish speaking.
Liang Zhirou gripped his hand tighter, biting her lip and opening and closing her mouth repeatedly. After a long while, she finally managed to utter three words:
"Give me a kiss..."
Chen Lu was stunned.
Is there really such a good thing?!
After a long while, the girl stopped standing on tiptoe, reluctantly hugged Chen Lu, and only let go a few seconds later, returning to the house.
"Good night."
"Good night."
Chen Lu looked at the girl's tightly closed door and shrugged. If she was so reluctant to leave me, she could have just come and sleep in my room.
I am clearly an upright and honest gentleman.
Girls are so strange.
......
Early the next morning.
The rain that lasted all night washed away the dust, making the whole world seem much cleaner. Looking out the window, you could still see small puddles everywhere.
The weather was unusually cool, so we didn't even need to turn on the air conditioner.
No matter how late she goes to bed, Liang Zhirou always manages to get up early on time.
She didn't wake Chen Lu, but instead cleaned the living room thoroughly and made breakfast before nervously entering Chen Lu's room.
Chen Lu was a very well-behaved sleeper, lying on his side on the bed, quiet and not snoring.
She had just finished thinking to herself when Chen Lu turned over and lay down on his back with wide, sweeping movements.
"......"
The girl secretly kissed him on the cheek, then walked to the window and slowly drew back the curtains.
It was still an old house after all, and no matter how careful she was, the curtains still made a somewhat jarring noise.
"What time is it?" Chen Lu asked groggily.
Liang Zhirou paused for a moment, then sighed sadly after realizing she had woken Chen Lu up. "7:30, it's still early."
"Draw the curtains a little closer."
Chen Lu opened one eye slightly and spoke in a deep voice, clearly still half asleep.
Liang Zhirou turned to look at him, "Is it too bright?"
"Hmm... I don't like it." Chen Lu rolled over and covered his face with the pillow. "That's why my mom always says I'm a vampire and can't stand the sunlight."
Liang Zhirou nodded as if she understood, and drew the curtains again. "No wonder you like to kiss my neck so much."
"You've gone astray," Chen Lu said with a smile.
She's such a silly goose, now she even knows how to tease people. The longer we're together, the cuter I find her.
"I didn't..."
Liang Zhirou sat down on the edge of the bed, gently squeezed Chen Lu's hand, and seeing that he still had his eyes closed, she couldn't help but ask, "How about you eat before you sleep?"
Chen Lu rolled over on the bed and moved next to her, still without opening his eyes. "Have you heard the story of the ostrich and the crocodile?"
The girl tilted her head blankly. "No."
Chen Lu held the girl's hand and slowly spoke:
"Once upon a time, there was a silly and cute ostrich. Suddenly she felt very thirsty, so she ran to the river to drink water."
"As she was drinking, she saw a crocodile float to the surface. The crocodile said to her: 'You're in danger. Be careful not to be dragged into the river.'"
The ostrich said: "You're a really nice person."
After saying that, she continued drinking water, completely unaware that the crocodile was swimming closer and closer.
"And then?" the girl asked curiously.
"Then, it was dragged into the river by the crocodile."
After Chen Lu finished speaking, he put his arm around the girl's waist and carried her to the bed.
"Like this!"
Liang Zhirou was so frightened that she screamed. Just as she was about to struggle, Chen Lu stopped moving.
Then she only heard the other person's deep, contented voice: "I'm going to sleep a little longer..."
A few minutes later.
Liang Zhirou was held in Chen Lu's arms like a pillow, her heart pounding wildly. She stared blankly at the white ceiling, biting her lip with a mix of anger and grievance.
I remember my mother telling me when I was little not to listen to stories told by people with ulterior motives...
......
After sending Liang Zhirou home temporarily, Chen Lu returned to the company.
Chen Lu was in a great mood. If he could just keep cooking like this, wouldn't it be just around the corner for them to share a room?
He smugly pushed open the door to his office and saw Jiang Chao sitting there with a worried look on his face, occasionally tugging at his hair.
"Stop scratching, or you'll go bald."
Chen Lu said this and sat back down in his seat.
"Why did you two argue again?" he asked with amusement. There hadn't been any problems at the company lately, so it was probably just a relationship issue.
"right."
Jiang Chao sighed deeply and made no attempt to hide it.
Chen Lu frowned upon hearing this. "You two have been arguing quite a lot lately. What was it about this time?"
Jiang Chao threw the cigarette butt into the ashtray, which was already full of cigarettes.
"What else could it be? She thinks I'm too busy." He opened the cigarette pack irritably, found it empty, squeezed it tightly, and threw it into the trash can. "I haven't spent much time with her this summer. We've been giving each other the cold shoulder for several days now."
