Countless outstanding adventurers and explorers inherit the spiritual landscape from the dense Black Forest, graduate from the Sellsben Academy base, and become beloved inheritance teachers. On the...
Blore followed his gaze and suddenly felt his brain start pounding.
All the chains finally converged towards the spear in the center that was stuck in the scorched earth.
The ancient-looking spear was now emitting an ominous dark light, and the spear was engraved with runes similar to those in the halo.
Most disturbingly, the spear's handle vaguely revealed pulsating vein-like lines, as if the weapon were an extension of some living creature.
"Like jellyfish tentacles and hearts out there..."
Bai Di whispered the uneasiness in Blore's heart.
That's right, the structure of this space was strikingly similar to the giant jellyfish tentacle network they saw outside - both were centered around a core, with complex life networks radiating outward.
Nan Song's body suddenly twitched violently, his chest expanded to an inhuman size like a balloon, and his skin was stretched to almost transparent.
Blore clearly saw that under the thin skin, something was reorganizing the internal structure of the cabbage.
Bone spurs protruded from Nansong's spine, piercing through clothes with a teeth-grinding "crackling" sound.
The dark green light circles on the scorched earth suddenly stopped and then began to rotate at a faster speed.
Blore felt a sharp pain in his eardrums as some sound wave beyond the range of human hearing echoed through the space.
Nansong—now it should be called a monster—slowly raised its arms. Its left hand had completely liquefied into a black tentacle-like substance, while its right hand had transformed into a bone blade with barbs.
"It wants..." Bai Di said suddenly, with a voice full of doubt that Blore had never heard before, "It's the sealed thing here..."
As if in response to Bai Di's words, the spear in the center suddenly made a buzzing sound similar to a dragon's roar.
The chains in the entire space stretched straight at the same time, making a teeth-grinding metallic stretching sound.
Blore saw the air around the spear begin to twist, forming a vortex like a miniature black hole.
What’s even more terrifying is that Nansong’s mutated body is being slowly sucked towards the vortex.
"No... not attractive..."
Ma Tuan squatted down, his eyes cold, "It's a summon... It's recalling part of itself..."
Blore's gaze shifted between Nansong and the spear, a terrifying thought forming in his mind: perhaps Nansong had never been possessed, but rather was being used as a vessel by some higher being.
Now, that being is going to take back its scattered power.
Just when Nansong's mutated body was about to touch the spear, the entire space suddenly twisted and deformed like plasticine being kneaded by an invisible giant hand.
Blore felt his internal organs being pulled by some force, and the scene before him shattered into countless flickering fragments. The last thing he saw was the moment when Nansong's completely alienated body merged with the spear, and the green light that was enough to burn the soul burst out from that fusion point...
The web of chains suddenly retreated like a tide, creating a passage in the void.
Blore's pupils suddenly contracted - a slender female figure was suspended in the center of the chain. Her figure was almost transparent, but it was shimmering with a mother-of-pearl luster in the dark green halo.
Those rusty chains pierced through her body, from her collarbone to her ankles. Every joint was bound by the rough metal, yet it seemed as natural as if it were a part of her body.
"Atasha." Her voice seemed to come from a distant time and space, with some ancient rhythm. "My name is Atasha."
Blore noticed that when she spoke the chain running through her throat trembled slightly, as if it were her actual vocal cords.
Bai Di unconsciously took half a step forward, even though this existence had no clear face at all - her head was shrouded in a layer of flowing mist, and only the occasional flash of starlight hinted at where the eyes might be.
"Did you get what you wanted?"
The chain suddenly made a crisp sound like wind chimes, and Atasha's voice was mixed with the noise of metal friction.
"Supreme King, do you possess the power to protect everything?"
Her body leaned forward, and the chains through her chest rattled.
"Including yourself?"
Bai Di's right hand unconsciously pressed on his left chest, and his Adam's apple rolled a few times: "I don't understand what you are saying."
Two white-purple lights suddenly appeared in the fog, like eyes suddenly opening in the deep sea.
"Small...place..."
Atasha's pronunciation became extremely difficult, as if the word had been shredded countless times by chains.
"Have you forgotten... even... this?"
Blore felt dizzy, and the chains around his arms were suddenly hot.
Pale golden runes moved across the metal surface like living things, leaving burning stings on his skin.
The other party was clearly talking to Bai Di, so why did he react so strongly?
He heard Ma Tuan gasp—his own chains were twisting uncontrollably like an enraged python.
"What the hell?"
Ma Tuan lowered his voice, his fingers tightly grasping Blore's sleeves.
"Does she know Bai Di?"
"How do you know this? It's too abstract... Bai Di is a very secretive guy..."
Blore found his voice terribly dry:
"No...I don't know..."
But a distant memory was stirring deep in his mind. He must have seen the patterns outlined by those golden runes somewhere...
Atasha suddenly trembled violently, and all the chains running through her body straightened at the same time.
Bai Di seemed to be pulled forward by some force, and this time his voice was filled with an urgency that even surprised himself:
