Then, the air behind Bai Di began to twist.
A strange and distorted halo floats.
At first, it was just a faint silver light in the blood mist, like a star piercing the eternal night.
The light gradually expanded, dispelling the sticky darkness around it.
A warm and refreshing breath permeated the smell of blood, like the first morning breeze on the snowy field.
The mane appeared before the form—each silver-white mane flowed with a moonlight-like halo, drawing a pure trajectory in the blood-red air.
Then came the majestic lion head, held high, its amber eyes filled with wisdom older than human civilization.
It appeared so naturally, as if it had always been there, but had just not been seen by ordinary eyes.
The lion's fur was like fresh snow, spotless in the sea of blood.
As it took a step, silver-white flames burned quietly at the tips of its claws, evaporating the blood it touched into a light purple mist.
The transparent tentacles that tried to approach curled up and retreated the moment they touched the flames, making a scream that ordinary people could not hear.
The white lion stopped three meters away from Bai Di. This distance would not oppress him, but would allow him to respond to any danger in time.
Its body size is at least nine or ten times larger than that of an ordinary lion, but it does not appear bulky at all. The rise and fall of every muscle contains divine elegance.
When it turned its head, the twinkling starlight between its mane cast tiny spots of light on Bai Di's face.
The left eye is like molten gold, but the right eye is like a frozen lake.
When Bai Di looked into its eyes, he saw a nebula-like pattern spinning deep in its pupils, which was a projection of countless parallel time and space.
For a moment, Bai Di felt that his soul was being gently held in the mouth, as safe as a cub being held by the scruff of the neck by its mother.
Bai Di actually didn’t know whether he could succeed this time, but now it seems that no matter what, he has already succeeded halfway.
A silver-blue ball of light condensed at the tip of the lion's tail, leaving a persistent streak of light in the air as it swung. These streaks of light formed an ancient rune, encircling Bai Di.
The eyes in the sea of blood suddenly trembled collectively in pain, and some even burst open, splashing black pus and blood.
When the white lion stepped on the ground with its front paws, a translucent light shield unfolded with it as the center.
Light bands similar to the aurora flowed on the wall of the shield, burning all the tentacles that tried to penetrate.
Bai Di smelled the sudden fresh scent of cedar in the air and heard faint hymns ringing in his ears - that was the protection from a higher dimension.
The most amazing thing is the relationship between the white lion and space.
It's clearly standing there, but it gives people the feeling of existing in multiple levels at the same time.
When the waves of the sea of blood came, you could see the lion's body flickering slightly, as if it would turn into pure light particles and disperse at any time, and then condense again in the next moment.
Its breathing had a certain rhythm, resonating with Bai Di's gradually synchronized heartbeat.
All those sick eyes now turned towards the white lion, the obsession in their eyes turning into fear and hatred.
There were several particularly large eyeballs with bulging blood vessels on the surface, trying to stare at the white lion, but the moment their eyes met, they spontaneously combusted and turned into wisps of smelly black smoke.
The white lion did not roar, but Bai Di clearly felt some kind of wave beyond hearing sweeping through his body.
It was a declaration and a warning, a comfort and a promise. In this cursed sea of blood, it represented the last piece of pure land that could not be defiled.
When a strand of mane accidentally brushed against the back of Bai Di's hand, what he felt was not the touch of the hair, but the coolness that penetrated directly into his soul.
The sea of blood solidified at this moment, and even the surging waves stopped in mid-air, as if the pause button was pressed by some irresistible force.
Those floating transparent tentacles no longer moved, and the ferocious eyeballs were motionless, as if the whole world was frozen in a strange painting.
And on this dead and bloody canvas, a small black figure stood there.
He—or rather, “it”—was thin and had a blurred outline, like a silhouette casually painted with thick ink, yet he carried a certain heart-pounding presence.
The black robe (if it could be called a robe) moved without wind, and the edges floated like smoke, blending with the tentacles around him, as if he himself was a part of this space.
Bai Di's breathing stagnated slightly.
The figure had no facial features and no expression, but Bai Di inexplicably felt that it was "looking" at him - not with its eyes, but in some more primitive and essential way.
Just like creatures in the deep sea sense the water flow, like beasts in the darkness sniff out the scent.
Then he heard the call.
It is not a sound, nor a language, but a vibration that penetrates directly into the consciousness, like a string being gently plucked deep in the soul.
"Bai Di."
He turned his head suddenly -
At the end of the sea of blood, two figures walked towards him, stepping on the solidified blood waves.
The first figure was tall and straight, with steady steps. The outline of his broad shoulders and narrow waist was particularly clear in the hazy light.
His face had not yet fully revealed, but Bai Di felt that his heart had already recognized him——
Building search.
His elder brother.
Bai Di's throat tightened slightly, as if something was stuck there, and he couldn't spit it out or swallow it.
A very faint light lingered around Lou Xun. It was not a dazzling white, but a silver-blue color almost like moonlight, soft but not to be ignored.
His brows were still as sharp as he remembered, but his eyes were calmer than before, as if they had gone through a long period of sedimentation and finally returned to the silence of the deep sea.
Beside him, another shorter figure followed closely.
