A modern Feng Shui master and fortune teller, Lin Wanyue, is transported by a car accident to a dynasty not recorded in history, becoming a three-year-old baby abandoned in a mass grave.
The ...
"Get out of my way! Get out of my way!"
A few thugs pushed aside the people in line and went to the front in an unfriendly tone.
The people queuing up to buy things and eat are mostly locals from the area. They, like the shop assistant, can immediately recognize that these people are employed by the Jiang family's pawnshop.
For a moment, everyone fell silent and made way for each other.
These local merchants only knew that the previous owner of the steamed bun shop, Lao Yu, was almost driven crazy by the Jiang family. Now, seeing the group of thugs coming to cause trouble, they guessed that Lin's Restaurant probably wouldn't be able to stay open for long.
They felt sorry for them, but no one dared to step forward to help, for fear of offending the Jiang family.
The Jiang family is the local tyrant on this street; if you offend them, no one will get away with it.
"Um, are you guys buying some snacks?" Lin Weiming and his group also sensed that something was off and asked the thugs, "Three coins each."
"cut!"
The thugs burst into laughter, clutching their stomachs, as if they had heard a joke.
"Didn't your old hag tell you?" One of the thugs laughed so hard he couldn't stand up straight. "We're all brothers from the same street. We heard your shop sells things, so we came here especially to support you. Let me see what you're selling. This is all black and murky, can we even eat it?"
Lin Weiming clenched his fists but remained silent.
These guys don't look like they're here to support us; they're more like there to cause trouble!
“I just heard you shouting something about free samples,” another thug said with a grin. “I’ll have to try it.”
The others then stared at the hoodlum.
The thug stuffed the roasted sweet potato skin into his mouth, his expression changing for a moment. He chewed quickly a few times, then swallowed it with a 'glug'.
Snap—
The gang leader next to him slapped him on the head: "You brat, what's wrong with you? Who told you to actually eat it!"
"It is indeed a free tasting, so eat if you want," Lin Weiming said coldly, wanting to see what tricks these people were up to.
The hoodlum who had eaten the roasted sweet potato skin smacked his lips a couple of times, then innocently clutched his head and said, "No, boss, I didn't mean to. This stuff is just too delicious. I haven't had breakfast yet, and I just... I accidentally swallowed it..."
With a 'pfft' sound.
Those queuing up nearby couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Damn it!" The leader of the thugs gritted his teeth in displeasure, as if he had been made a laughing stock, and said to Lin Weiming, "Didn't you say it was a free sample? Give me one too!"
"It's a free sample, but you'll have to pay for a second one." Lin Weiming put the plate aside, his cold eyes fixed on them.
"Pay money? Why should I? They don't have to pay when they eat, so why should I? Are you looking down on us brothers?" The gang leader raised his chin, his face clearly showing he was about to cause trouble.
"Yes," Lin Weiming said firmly.
Thug leader: "..."
The gang leader was instantly embarrassed by his blunt admission and raised his hand to try and overturn the things in front of him.
But as soon as his hand touched the steaming hot metal box in front of him, he immediately cried out in pain from the heat.
His hand was already scalded red.
Those watching the commotion instinctively took a half-step back, thinking the thug had encountered some kind of hidden weapon.
The young waiter seized the opportunity to squeeze forward two steps and got to the front.
"Don't panic, everyone. Since my family roasts sweet potato skins, the oven is naturally filled with burning charcoal. Please don't go near it easily," Liu Junlan explained to everyone.
"Hiss..." The gang leader gritted his teeth, then remembered Master Jiang's instructions. After thinking for a moment, he finally took out three coins from his purse: "Now you can at least give me one!"
“No way.” Lin Weiming refused to accept his money, saying coldly, “You’re obviously here to cause trouble. If I sell to you, I’m afraid I won’t be able to continue this business.”
"Hmph! You dare to look down on us brothers? This business was doomed from the start!" The gang leader thought he was finally scared and a smug smile appeared on his face.
While her grandmother and father weren't looking, Lin Wanyue took a portion that Liu Junlan had just baked and was going to give to her, and handed it to the gang leader.
The leader of the thugs smiled at Lin Wanyue, who had given him the roasted sweet potato skin, but when he looked at Lin Weiming and Liu Junlan, he was full of smugness: "You two are such old, yet you're not as sensible as this little brat!"
"Wanwan!" Liu Junlan wasn't worried at first, but seeing Lin Wanyue getting so close to this thug, she immediately became anxious.
"Hmm." Lin Wanyue wasn't afraid of him at all. She raised her head and said to him, "When you open a shop and do business, you have to do business after you get the money. If you only buy things to cause trouble for us, you'll end up like that tree."
The little girl's soft voice quickly attracted everyone's attention, and everyone subconsciously looked in the direction her chubby little finger was pointing.
Suddenly, without warning, a tree the size of a large bowl by the roadside snapped and fell to the ground right before everyone's eyes.
Everyone: "Wow!!!"
The little pink butterfly calmly put away its axe.
She has become increasingly skilled with the axe, able to draw it at any time and remain invisible to others.
