Chapter 1 Come with Me
August, Chengdu.
The sun was high in the sky, baking the earth hot, and the air was filled with a hot breath.
As soon as Lin Zixia got off the bus with his suitcase, he felt the scorching heat coming towards him. The heat waves came over him, and the whole city seemed to have become a huge oven.
She raised her hand to cover her forehead and looked up at the sky. The sun was hanging high in the sky, looking majestic. The sunlight was so bright that it hurt her eyes.
She lowered her head, took out her cell phone, opened the navigation, and walked forward, dragging a large black suitcase that was too big for her, the wheels rolling on the ground.
There were not many people at the station, so Lin Zixia quickly walked out and along the street towards the bus stop.
Lin Zixia looked around as she walked. She could have taken a taxi, but she wanted to observe the city more carefully.
The leaves of the sycamore trees on the sidewalk swayed slightly in the wind, and the sunlight filtered through the gaps, casting mottled shadows on the ground, as if dancing on her.
There were many shops and small vendors on both sides of the street, selling all kinds of refreshing drinks. The owner of the watermelon shop, wearing a vest, moved a rocking chair to lie in the shade of a tree, fanning himself with a palm-leaf fan, and the electric fan next to him made a rustling sound.
After waiting at the bus stop for a few minutes, the bus arrived. She got on, put in her coin, and found a seat by the window.
It was a hot day and not many people were out. The air conditioning in the car was turned on very high, and the sudden coolness made all her pores relax.
A message popped up on her phone, it was her aunt asking her if she had arrived.
Lin Zixia arrived at the station early, but she did not call her aunt to pick her up. Instead, she chose to go to her aunt's house by herself.
[Auntie, I'll be here for a while. You don't have to pick me up. I can come up by myself.]
After replying to the message, Lin Zixia held the phone in his hand, his heart beating a little faster.
She didn't know what her new life would be like, but she was ready and couldn't wait to start.
The bus stopped at a street in front of the community. Lin Zixia got off the bus and walked forward with his suitcase, the wheels making a gurgling sound on the sidewalk.
She looked around curiously all the way, observing the scene on the side of the street. Just as she reached the entrance of the alley, suddenly, an unidentified object flew from the upper direction and was about to hit her!
Lin Zixia's body reacted faster than his brain and he stepped back suddenly.
With a "bang", an unidentified object fell to the ground in front of her.
Lin Zixia was still in shock. She raised her hand and patted her chest. Fortunately, otherwise she would have been injured on the first day.
She looked down:???
It's a book with a blue cover?
The warm summer breeze blew past, and the pages of the book turned gently. She caught a glimpse of the word "野" written in a flamboyant style on the blank page.
Where did the book come from?
Lin Zixia was a little confused. He bent down to pick up the book and saw clearly the big words on the cover - For High School Mathematics League Only.
The book was not the kind you buy in a bookstore, but one that she printed herself. Just as she was about to open it, she heard a commotion beside her ears.
"Come on, old man!"
"Just you guys?"
Lin Zixia looked over in the direction of the sound and saw a group of yellow-haired people surrounding a tall boy rushing towards the alley...
The tall man seemed to tilt his head and smiled, then raised his hand and threw the leader over his shoulder. His movements were clean, neat, and full of ferocity.
Suddenly there was a burst of cursing in the alley, and then a fight broke out. The ruthlessness of the boys' punches made Lin Zixia's heart tremble.
She retracted her frightened look, and the book in her hand suddenly became hot. She looked down, hesitated for two seconds, then raised her hand and threw it back to where it was, dragging her suitcase away.
Without even turning back.
Only after crossing the road did Lin Zixia breathe a sigh of relief.
I've seen fights, but I've never seen one so ferocious.
The tall and thin figure of the boy flashed through Lin Zixia's mind.
One against many, can you win?
Only when she reached the gate of the community did she regain her composure.
The security guard at the door was hiding in the security room enjoying the air conditioning. No one stopped her, so she dragged her suitcase directly into the community.
"Building 6, Unit 1." Lin Zixia glanced at the location his aunt had sent him before, and looked for it along the community signs.
When she stopped at the intersection to look at the building, a ball suddenly flew over from a distance and hit her knee.
"Hiss--" Lin Zixia subconsciously bent his legs, bent down and touched the place where he was hit. It really hurt.
She looked around and saw a little boy running towards her, bossing her around, "Hey, pick up the ball for me!"
Lin Zixia pointed at himself, "Me?"
Glancing at the football at her feet again, she straightened up and looked at the little boy, her tone rather kind, "Don't you know you have to apologize if you hit someone?"
The little boy frowned, a little impatient, "Hurry up, we are still waiting to play!"
Lin Zixia looked at the little boy with a sweet smile.
The next second, he exerted force on his foot and kicked the ball in the other direction.
The ball rolled along the ground and rolled farther and farther.
The little boy widened his eyes and looked at her in disbelief, "You..."
Lin Zixia tilted his head and smiled at him, then walked away dragging his suitcase.
The little boy opened his mouth into an O shape, as if he had been shocked by something. He stared at her back for a long time until he could no longer see her figure. Then he happily ran to pick up the ball by himself.
Lin Zixia walked around the community a few times. The cicadas above her head kept chirping at the top of their lungs, which made her feel upset and she broke out in a thin layer of sweat.
The navigation system was completely inaccurate in the neighborhood, but she didn't want to bother her aunt. There was someone in front of her with a schoolbag slung over their shoulder and a large bag of ice cream and drinks in their hands. She walked over and asked, "Hello, do you know how to get to Unit 1, Building 6?"
The boy in front paused and turned around. Lin Zixia's breath skipped a beat.
Is the guy she randomly grabs and asks for directions from a passerby on the street a handsome guy?
Or is it because the provincial capital has a larger population base, so there are more handsome guys in the same proportion?
The boy in front of me was tall and thin, wearing a pure white T-shirt, with dark eyes, thin lips, a straight nose, a smooth jawline, half-drooped eyelashes, and a hint of impatience.
When he looked up at her, his eyes were dark and carried an invisible sense of oppression.
Lin Zixia's breath was caught in her throat. His eyes were so sharp and cold that she suspected he was going to hit her in the next second.
He looks like he has a bad temper.
Lin Zixia gripped the suitcase handle tightly with his fingers, calmed himself down, and repeated his question in as polite and normal a tone as possible.
The boy raised his eyelids slightly and glanced at her lightly. His gaze paused for two seconds on the huge suitcase beside her, with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"Come with me."
