Li Xiyue, carrying her space and spiritual pet, transmigrated from the apocalypse to the 1970s. Her birth mother died early, and her father, after marrying a stepmother, became a changed man. Her m...
“Liao Qingshan is my maternal grandfather,” Li Xiyue replied, looking at the old man.
He was about the same age as his maternal grandfather, only slightly shorter, with gray hair and a pair of eyes that shone with wisdom.
He was simply dressed, with a thin face and an extraordinary demeanor, giving people a sense of otherworldly elegance.
Upon hearing this, the old man looked at Li Xiyue more closely and said, "I see. She's much better looking than him."
Li Xiyue became increasingly curious about him. "Old comrade, do you know my maternal grandfather?"
"Watch out!" a young girl next to the old man suddenly warned.
Li Xiyue turned her head and saw that the madwoman had actually moved. Her face had become ferocious, her eyes were full of malice, and she was baring her teeth and claws as she attacked Li Xiyue.
She actually broke through the sealed acupoints on her own.
Li Xiyue was somewhat shocked. She dodged the attack and took out silver needles to immobilize her again.
"Girl, may I borrow your silver needle?" The old man quickly took a silver needle from Li Xiyue's hand, muttered some incantations, and then stuck the needle into the crazed woman's body.
The woman paused for a moment, then ran away shouting.
The cold wind howled, and with no excitement left to watch, the onlookers, chattering amongst themselves, dispersed.
"Old man, you're not good enough," the girl who had reminded Li Xiyue earlier teased.
The old man rolled his eyes at her. "If you're so capable, why don't you make a move?"
"You're the master. With the master here, how could the apprentice possibly have a chance to make a move?" the girl said dismissively.
The old man ignored her and looked at Li Xiyue, "Girl, why don't you go after that madman?"
"What does it have to do with me?" Li Xiyue asked with a smile.
She only intervened because that crazy woman attacked her; otherwise, she wouldn't have bothered.
The old man looked at her and smiled, "Not bad, not bad, you've a very insightful life."
"Little sister, do you know why that woman went mad?" the old man's apprentice asked mysteriously.
Li Xiyue looked at her and shook her head, "Please enlighten me, elder sister."
She was about twenty-three or twenty-four years old, with delicate features, an oval face, and a gentle appearance, giving people the feeling of a well-bred lady, but her words and actions revealed a casual and unrestrained nature.
The old man's apprentice smiled with satisfaction. "People from the capital are indeed of higher quality, much better than people from the countryside, aren't they, old man?"
"If you want to show off, hurry up. It's windy and cold," the old man said impatiently, pulling his clothes tighter around himself.
The old man's apprentice raised his head and said smugly, "That woman committed murder and was burdened by evil karma, so this is how she ended up."
Li Xiyue nodded. So there really was a ghost, and the ghost was inside her body.
She smiled and said, "Thank you for your guidance, sister. My name is Li Xiyue. May I ask your name, sister?"
"My name is Zhuang Le, and this is my master. You can just call him Old Man Zhuang," Zhuang Le said heartily.
Li Xiyue certainly wouldn't be so rude. She looked at the old man and asked, "Mr. Zhuang, do you know my maternal grandfather?"
She had a rough idea of his identity, but she needed to confirm it.
“He is my apprentice’s nephew,” said Master Zhuang.
Just as I expected.
