Yun Xun, carrying the severed head, walked to the entrance of the Zichen Palace. The guards behind him were stopped, and the emperor said that only he was allowed to enter the palace.

Yun Xun was prepared for this, so he turned around and said to Ling Ya and the others, "Wait for me outside!"

Ling Ya and his men replied, "Yes, Your subordinates obey!"

The moment Yun Xun stepped across the threshold of the Zichen Palace, a gust of wind blew from behind him, causing the candlelight inside the palace to flicker. For some reason, Ji Mingwei's face appeared before him.

"Husband..." Upon hearing Ji Mingwei's call, Yun Xun almost instinctively reached out to grab her, but Ji Mingwei vanished from his sight like a phantom.

A chilling gaze fell upon him, and Yun Xun snapped back to his senses, a self-deprecating smile playing on his lips. Wasn't what he had just seen an illusion?

His princess is currently at Suolongwu, where she has put the Crown Princess to death. Once she is done with her work, she will return to the capital to join him. By then, he will have already dealt with the Emperor and Yun Zhuo.

Everything was ready; everything was in place except for the final action. He couldn't think of anything that would allow him to lose. He was certain he would win tonight!

Beside the emperor, several eunuchs and palace maids, including Huaifu, were serving him. He sat behind a table with a freshly brewed cup of tea on it, steam rising gently.

Yun Xun placed the Crown Prince's head on the ground, knelt down, and cupped his hands: "Father, the Crown Prince did not follow your instructions to go to the southern section of the Grand Canal to investigate the case of missing grain. After leaving the city, he split his forces into two groups and marched back towards the capital."

"Fortunately, I was prepared in advance and took precautions. When I learned that the Crown Prince had the intention to rebel and usurp the throne, I tried to persuade him to no avail. For the sake of the country, I had no choice but to cut off his head!"

Inside the Zichen Palace, it seemed as if there wasn't a breath of wind.

The emperor looked at the human head on the ground. The head had long, flowing hair that covered most of the face, and the exposed part of the face was splattered with blood.

But you can still tell that this is Yun Zhuo's face.

Having been trying to kill him for so long, now that he is finally dead, the emperor feels no grief for the loss of his son, only the exhilaration of the death of his enemy!

The main gate, back gate, and side gate of Zichen Palace all opened in an instant, and guards rushed in with long swords in hand, surrounding Yun Xun!

"Prince Xuan, Yunxun, murdered the Crown Prince. His crime is heinous! Arrest him and send him to prison to await his fate!" The Emperor pointed at Yunxun and said in a deep voice.

Yun Xun raised his head and looked into the emperor's eyes. When the emperor said those words, he kept staring into Yun Xun's eyes, as if he wanted to crush Yun Xun into mincemeat with his gaze!

He was the emperor; whoever he wanted to die, had to die, even his own son.

However, under his deep gaze, Yun Xun stood up and chuckled.

"Father, didn't you order me to lead troops to kill my elder brother, the Crown Prince? You promised me that as long as the Crown Prince is dead, the position of heir apparent will be mine. Have you forgotten, Father?"

The emperor was furious: "Nonsense! You are all my children, how could I allow you to kill yourselves? You wretched creatures! You killed your own brother and now you blame me! What are you all standing there for! Seize him! He killed the crown prince, his crime is unforgivable!"

Yun Xun smiled and walked towards him, and in the blink of an eye, he was already in front of his desk, with only a desk separating the father and son.

The guards who had rushed in earlier remained standing still, their longswords gleaming coldly.

The emperor sat in a chair, while Yun Xun stood. At this moment, Yun Xun was looking down at him.

"You! You deliberately transferred Cui Shao away?" the emperor asked, his voice hoarse, fear creeping into his heart. "You sent the two children into the palace just to transfer Cui Shao away?"

Yun Xun did not answer, but said, "Father, the deputy commander is already one of my men. As long as I don't say anything, none of them will make a move."

The emperor stared in disbelief at the child he had never valued since childhood, his eyes wide with shock and astonishment. He exclaimed, "You...you want to kill your father and your emperor?"
