Upon hearing this, Bull Demon King immediately used his iron rod to knock the spear from Deputy Marshal Tianyou's hand away. He then stood still and said, "I, Old Bull, do not deny that I have mismanaged my family, but no one in Jilei Mountain died at my hands. If the Heavenly Court wants to hold them accountable, they can ask the cultivators of the Rakshasa clan."

"There's also a share for your wife, Princess Iron Fan." said Tianyou Deputy Marshal Zhenjun.

The Bull Demon King said, "She is currently at the Guanyin Bodhisattva's place in the South China Sea. The Heavenly Court can go to the Purple Bamboo Forest in the South China Sea to take her away."

Deputy Marshal Tianyou smiled faintly and said, "If I were in charge of this arrest, your argument would be useful. I would indeed have to give some face to Bodhisattva Guanyin. But the one in charge of this arrest is Zhenren Hongqing. There are still Buddhist bodhisattvas imprisoned in the Western Heavenly Palace Prison. This question is very critical. In many cases, or when making judgments, the creatures that are "equal to all beings" are limited to "intelligent creatures", and creatures without intelligence are not within the concept of "equality to all beings".

Therefore, whether it is a god or a mortal, killing those unintelligent creatures will result in karma, but this karma is so small that it can be ignored.

This point is also referenced in the Heavenly Law. Killing a living being with intelligence is a much greater sin than killing a living being without intelligence.

So what does it mean to be an intelligent being or a being with spiritual intelligence? There is only one criterion: spirituality.

This "spirituality" isn't a vague, over-the-top concept; it's a very clear one. For example, a dog might see someone bending down to pick something up on the street. Its first reaction is to run away, but that's not spirituality; it's a conditioned reflex formed by the memory of a past beating.

Or a dog, when it walks on the road and sees a stranger beating and bullying another stranger, it immediately goes up to drive away the stranger who is beating others and saves the stranger who is being bullied. That is spirituality.

What about humans? When a person sees someone about to hit them, their first reaction is to run or fight. When a person sees the strong bullying the weak, they either turn a blind eye or stand up for the injustice. Regardless of the choice, it's a reflection of their "spirituality." But the difference is that humans are born with spirituality, while animals need to awaken their spirituality later in life.

Animals need spirituality to cultivate, but humans cannot cultivate with spirituality alone; they also need "divinity." Those who are willing to sacrifice themselves to save others are those who possess "divinity."

So when faced with Bull Demon King's question, Fang Jian answered calmly: "Five."

Only five intelligent beings died, and the Bull Demon King immediately said, "I will use my merits to atone for my sins. This is the sacred law spoken by the Jade Emperor."

Fang Jian said, "What a shame! If you hadn't run away, you could have used your merits to atone for your sins. But you just ran away. This is fleeing from the crime, defying the laws of heaven. Your sins will be increased by one million!"

Upon hearing this, the Bull Demon King was furious. He stared at Fang Jian with his huge bull eyes and asked, "What the hell? A million more sins?!"

"Nonsense, the addition is too little. What if you have too much merit and redeem it all?" Fang Jian said bluntly.

The Bull Demon King was furious and pointed at Fang Jian's nose and said, "How can you add it like that?!"

"Yes, isn't that what I'm adding now?" Fang Jian said, "Do you want to debate the Heavenly Law with me?"

The Bull Demon King finally understood what "the word 'official' has two parts, so whatever you say makes sense" meant. After all, immortal officials are also officials.
