Yuan Kuang bowed and said, "Venerable, I am originally a cultivator of the Shaoshen Sect. Just now, I heard you explaining to others the concepts of 'good, evil, and compassion,' and I have become confused. Over the years, I have killed many cultivators and living beings under the orders of the Shaoshen Sect's headmaster and elders. I wonder if this counts as a sin?"

"Yes." Mahavairocana Buddha nodded and said, "All killing is a sin."

Seeing Yuan Kuang's gradually darkening expression, Mahavairocana Buddha changed the subject and said, "But there are exceptions."

"Oh?" Yuan Kuang immediately perked up and asked quickly, "Excuse me, sir, who can be exempted?"

Mahavairocana Buddha said, "Killing to protect sentient beings is not considered a sin. For example, if heavenly soldiers and generals fight and kill treacherous and rebellious people to protect sentient beings in the three realms, it is not considered a sin."

"Huh!" Xu Hongyuan finally breathed a sigh of relief, patted his chest lightly, and then said to Lihua, Yaosheng, and Zhuang Yantong with a smile, "I thought I was guilty of a heinous crime."

"Can Buddha eliminate sins?" Yuan Kuang asked hopefully.

Now, whether it is the monks of Shaoshen Sect, Zaiji Sect or Donghuo Sect, they all urgently need to find a new "spiritual sustenance".

Because their original belief was their leader, and now the three great ancestors have been suppressed by Fang Jian, and the three religions and three sects have been banned. It is the time when the faith of these cultivators has collapsed and they are confused and at a loss.

What Vairocana Buddha said was not wrong. Although sins are under the jurisdiction of the underworld, there is an authority system above the underworld that can forgive sins.

This authority is held by the 'Emperor of the Earth'. Anyone who has achieved the status of Heaven, Taoism, or Buddha will be granted the authority to 'forgive sins' by the Emperor of the Earth.

In other words, they can use their own great power and merits to save other people who have committed sins and eliminate their sins, and the underworld also recognizes this.

Ability is one thing, but authority is another. Does a Daluo Jinxian have the ability to redeem others from sin? Of course, but if Heaven doesn't give you this authority and the Underworld doesn't recognize it, what can you do?

Unless the people you convert never go to the underworld, but this is impossible, in the Three Realms, from the Hunyuan Wuji Daluo Jinxian to an ordinary mortal spirit, their souls will be under the jurisdiction of the underworld after death. This is the law set by Heaven.

Forgiveness of sins can be divided into "forgiveness of life" and "forgiveness of death". The so-called forgiveness of life means that the sins of a monk or living being are forgiven during his lifetime, so that they will not be imprisoned or troubled by sins.

It only takes one Daluo Jinxian to pardon a life, because the power of a Daluo Jinxian is enough to protect a living being from being troubled by his sins.

But to pardon a person’s death means that his sins will be settled in the underworld after his death, and this is the most important thing. People without the authority of heaven cannot do this.

But this also leads to another problem. Even if you are pardoned, if you die and your soul returns to the underworld, if the person who pardoned you does not have the authority to forgive sins, the underworld will still settle accounts with you.

Therefore, Buddhist Bodhisattvas and Buddhas definitely have the authority to forgive sins. After all, Taoism and Buddhism are older and more prestigious, with the Taoist and Buddha ancestors in charge.

Moreover, both Taoism and Buddhism have developed their own paths. If the Taoist ancestors and the Buddha no longer exist, the concepts of "Tao" and "Buddha" will always exist and will not disappear.

What about the Xuan Sect? As soon as Daoist Master Hongjun died, the Xuan Sect would immediately vanish into thin air, leaving no trace in the long river of history.

Those who enjoy the same treatment as Taoism and Buddhism include "demons", "devils", "ghosts", "monsters", etc., but except for the demons who may need some authority to forgive sins, the other three basically do not need it.

For example, why do demonic cults need the power to forgive sins? We're just criminals, right? The more sins we commit, the more 'evil' we become.

As for the true demons of the Demon Cult, the underworld naturally cannot use the standards of good and evil of normal creatures to measure them. The liquidation process of true demons is different from that of normal creatures.

Yuan Kuang's eyes were filled with tears and blood. He knelt on the ground, bowed his head to the sky and said, "Please, Buddha, save me."

Upon seeing this, Mahavairocana Buddha immediately extended his right hand and gently placed it on Yuan Kuang's head, then chanted the Buddha's name loudly, "Namo Amitabha, since you are determined to return to the right path, to be kind and to worship the Buddha, I will save you."

I saw the white monk robe of Vairocana Tathagata moving without wind, and waves of powerful and mighty power spread out. Holy and clear immortal light shone on the body of Vairocana Tathagata, making everyone on the stone platform feel as if they were basking in the spring breeze, with a clear mind and peace of mind.
