The daughter of a merchant married into the general's mansion, and everyone in the capital envied Ning Yin for transforming from a sparrow into a noble phoenix. In the eyes of the world, Shen Y...
"good."
Ning Yin responded, then suddenly remembered that she had left in a hurry and forgotten to get some medicine to prevent miscarriage from the clinic.
Although she is a doctor, this is her first pregnancy, and the bleeding was most likely caused by an unstable pregnancy.
Coupled with her excessive worry during this period, if she doesn't take good care of the pregnancy, she fears she won't be able to protect her and Xiao Xuan's first child.
Thinking it over, she quickly went inside, asked Li Chengyan for pen and ink, and wrote down a prescription.
"Lord Li, this is a prescription. I need to recuperate for a while. Could you please go out and get some medicine for me?"
Li Chengyan took the prescription, glanced at it, and without thinking much about it, nodded and walked out of the courtyard.
After Li Chengyan left, Ning Yin looked around at the surroundings. It was an ancient courtyard nestled against the mountains and beside the water, with a very quiet and secluded environment. It was also surrounded by the secret guards of the Eastern Palace.
Once she was sure she was truly safe, Ning Yin breathed a sigh of relief. She looked down at her somewhat out-of-place Chu Kingdom palace attire and thought to herself that she should quickly change into some less conspicuous ordinary clothes.
So she pushed open the door to a bedroom, intending to go in and see if there were any clothes that women could wear.
The bedroom faces south and has excellent natural light. There is a solid wood wardrobe directly opposite the bed. Ningyin opened the wardrobe and took a look.
I was right. The room was filled with all kinds of clothes, both men's and women's.
Ning Yin picked out a simple, elegant pleated dress that common women usually wear, turned around and closed the door, then prepared to change her clothes.
Before long, Ningyin changed her clothes, folded the conspicuous palace dress, and stuffed it under the bed.
After doing all this, Ning Yin felt a little hungry. She was not only prone to vomiting now, but also to hunger. The little one in her belly was suffering along with her.
Ningyin subconsciously reached out and touched her lower abdomen, comforting her, "Baby, you must be good and grow up healthy, okay? Your mother and father love you very much."
Ning Yin doesn't care about anything else now, she just wants Xiao Xuan to come back safely so that the three of them can be reunited.
Pushing open the door, she noticed that there was no one else in the courtyard, so she decided to cook herself some dinner; she couldn't let the little one in her belly go hungry.
She went to the kitchen, lit a fire, and started a stove to cook an egg noodle dish.
It was nearing dusk, and the orange glow of the setting sun streamed in through the window. A gentle breeze caressed her face, and she thought she heard someone calling her, Aning.
She thought it was her imagination until a tall, slender figure suddenly appeared by the window. She quickly wiped her eyes with her sleeve and continued looking out.
Their eyes met, and the man's deep gaze fell on her, his expression filled with joy.
The afterglow of the setting sun, like a golden curtain, enveloped his handsome features, making his gentle eyes appear even softer and warmer.
“A-Ning…”
Xiao Xuan spoke again, gently calling out to Ning Yin before him.
“Jingyuan…”
Realizing what was happening, Ning Yin disregarded the boiling water in the pot, hurriedly dropped the noodles in her hand, and quickly turned and ran out of the kitchen.
She called his name and suddenly bumped into Xiao Xuan's arms.
The man quickly opened his arms and embraced her, his eyes filled with longing and concern for her.
Ning Yin also held tightly to Xiao Xuan's lean waist, unwilling to loosen her grip, afraid that she and Xiao Xuan would be separated again if she wasn't careful.
There were so many things to be happy about today. She never expected to run into Li Chengyan as soon as she left the palace, nor did she expect that Xiao Xuan would return so soon after she came back here.
Since the day Shen Yun took him away, all the worries and fears have finally dissipated.
Ning Yin was so happy that her eyes filled with tears. She buried her face in the man's chest and sobbed softly. Xiao Xuan raised his hand and gently stroked her head, again and again, just like that night in the Chu Kingdom's palace.
“Ah Ning, I said I would protect you for the rest of my life, and no difficulty can separate us.”
A few hours ago, Chu Mo told her that Ning Yin had already left the palace and that she should find an opportunity to go out that night, as Ning Yin might be at Chu Han's residence.
Xiao Xuan couldn't wait any longer. Now that he had the items and Ning Yin had left the palace, he couldn't stay a moment longer.
To his surprise, as soon as he left the palace, he received a message by carrier pigeon from Li Chengyan, saying that Ning Yin had been found.
So he spurred his horse and galloped all the way to the village in no time.
Seeing that Ning Yin was still unable to stop crying, Xiao Xuan felt as if his heart had been stabbed by a needle, and quickly lowered his head to kiss the woman's forehead.
Gently and softly, he slowly kissed Ning Yin's moist eyes from her forehead.
"Ah Ning, I will never let you leave me again."
He continued kissing downwards, and Ning Yin's small, delicate nose, red and glistening with tears, was completely kissed clean by Xiao Xuan.
Ning Yin let Xiao Xuan kiss her, her body trembling with each sob, like a wounded little rabbit.
She held the man even tighter, as if that way they could be together for all eternity, never to be separated again.
When Xiao Xuan's kiss landed on her lips, Ning Yin's cheeks suddenly burned. Even though she was now carrying his child, she still blushed and her heart raced easily.
Especially Qingying, who came out of the palace with Xiao Xuan at this moment, was literally fed a mouthful of dog food.
Qingying raised her hand to wipe away the tears that flowed from her eyes with emotion, and with a kind and gentle demeanor like an old father, she withdrew from the courtyard.
The two embraced and kissed passionately until Ningyin's stomach suddenly made rhythmic rumbling sounds.
