Vampires exist in books, shows, and movies… BUT IN NEW ERIDU?!
Ellen Joe discovers her quiet classmate Phaga isn’t just reserved—he’s a vampire looking for a job!
Between school...
If a large number of remains suddenly appear underground, then sealing them off becomes meaningless.
Soon, the thirty vampires Bourne brought gathered around him. The handsome vampire Fagar had seen before hung his head and said dejectedly:
"I'm sorry, Uncle, we didn't find it."
Upon hearing this, Byrne shook his head and waved his hand, saying, "They suddenly appeared from underground. Even I didn't notice them, so it's not your fault."
From the current perspective, it seems that the Black Law deliberately led them in this direction to gather the army of skeletons.
The Skeleton Army descended from the sky through the spatial rift, transforming their offensive.
But... this trick might be fine for dealing with humans who can't fly, but isn't it a bit too simplistic to expect it to work on flying vampires?
Although having too many skeletons would be disadvantageous for Faga and the others in their attack, it wouldn't stop them from leaving and going back to reconsider their plans!
Fagga shook his head, somewhat confused, when he suddenly noticed a gaze falling on him, so he turned to look.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out that it was Bourne who had been spying. Unbeknownst to them, a considerable distance had grown between them, as if there were a chasm between them. Rather than spying, it would be more accurate to say that Bourne was gazing into the distance.
If it were just Bourne alone, that would be one thing, but the other thirty vampires avoided Fagar like the plague.
Faga was puzzled and sensed something was wrong. He frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"
"It's almost dawn, we need to retreat."
Bourne finally withdrew his gaze from Fagar and then looked into the distance at the rolling white of dawn.
The brilliant golden light drew a line across the horizon, beyond which lay a deep, dark expanse.
Inside the line, there was a warm, radiant golden light, its cozy warmth gradually infecting the chill of the night, opening its arms to the darkness.
The vampires keenly sensed that the night was being seduced by the sun's intense sunlight.
It is no longer a protector of vampires, and vampires must flee before it is completely bewitched!
Faga still had a furrowed brow, looking down at Black Mage, who was currently lying on a goblin sucking its blood, its injuries healing at an astonishing rate.
"Well, the Dark Mage has recovered; there's no point in continuing the fight. Let's retreat for now..."
Fagar flapped its wings slightly, preparing to retreat.
However, halfway through the flight, Fagar suddenly felt a sharp, needle-like pain in his left arm. He instinctively swung his sword to the side and shattered the attacking ice spike into pieces with a single strike.
Han!
When the ice cone shattered, it exploded into a sky full of icy mist.
Through a pile of ice shards, Fagar saw that, at least a dozen meters apart, thirty vampires were lining up to cross the spatial rift, with Bourne at the very end.
Finally, just before Bourne was about to cross the spatial rift, he suddenly looked back:
"I'm sorry, Grandpa. We're going to leave you here to fight Blackfa one-on-one; it's part of the plan."
Fagar stared coldly at Bourne, narrowing his eyes as he asked, "What do you mean?"
"The vampire clan's reputation is ruined, but at least your reputation needs to be good enough to justify the plan... Look behind you!"
Bourne was still hovering in front of the spatial rift, explaining to Fagga in a flat tone.
But then, in a sudden instant, his eyes widened, his usually calm demeanor turning ferocious, and he roared.
Upon hearing the sound, before he could even turn around, Fagga felt a chilling sensation piercing his body, as a cold glint stabbed directly into his back!
Oh no, it's too late to fight back!
Faga was unwilling, but he still swung his long sword behind his back to block the spear's edge. He was thrown forward by the force of the blow and flew for more than ten meters before he was able to relieve the force of the sneak attack.
Slowly turning around, Fagar was finally able to face the enemy who had suddenly attacked him, and murmured, "A Thracian? So they can fly this high?"
That's right, Yi Hai—a Thracian, a white Yi Hai who looks exactly like a combat mech, holding a long spear, and hovering in the air during battle.
Faga usually thought that such a skeleton could only float above the ground at most, but he never expected that it could fly so high in the sky!
However, that's not the point.
Fagar turned his head, still keeping his attention focused on Bourne, who could leave at any moment.
The Thracians can fly, so be it. Although they are known as a warrior race in the legends of the ancient Neo-Eridu civilization because of their fighting prowess, their battles are actually very open and aggressive. It's one thing if they were caught off guard and ambushed, but it's unlikely that such a thing will happen again.
Faga continued to stare coldly at Byrne, questioning, "What kind of plan requires my good reputation? And don't expect me to work for the vampire clan."
"Those who don't know how to work, at that point, can no longer be considered to be working..."
Bourne lowered his head in deep thought. Although these were all confidential matters, the honest Bourne still felt it would be good to tell Fagga more things.
"As for the vampire clan's plan, it's a long one. Let me think about how I can explain it in just a few words... Hmm? Why did you pull me here?"
Suddenly, a spatial rift tore open beside Bourne, and half of a handsome vampire's body emerged from it. He stretched out his body to grab Bourne's wrist. Seeing that Bourne's attention was finally drawn to him, the handsome vampire was overjoyed and earnestly advised, "Uncle, let's go! If we don't leave soon, the sun will be shining in!"
