Vampires exist in books, shows, and movies… BUT IN NEW ERIDU?!
Ellen Joe discovers her quiet classmate Phaga isn’t just reserved—he’s a vampire looking for a job!
Between school...
"Faga, goodbye and don't come back!"
"Shark, you must be happy every day!"
Bernice waved her handkerchief and shouted at the departing SUV.
Only when they could no longer be seen did Bernice wipe away non-existent tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief, feigning disappointment as she said, "Sigh, I still couldn't persuade Fagga and Shark to stay and join my [First Bernice Cup Seven Days Seven Nights Unlimited Drinking Carnival] tonight."
"That's why I didn't let you try to persuade Dharmakara..."
Lucy slapped her forehead, grabbed Colleen beside her, and put her hands on her hips, saying, "I'll say it again, Bernice, there is no Carnival!"
After saying that, Lucy put her arm around Corinne and headed home, muttering to herself:
"Honestly, where would we find the time to hold a carnival? We've only just become the overlords, and we still have so many things to coordinate with the Triumphs... Colleen, they're not very reliable, so I'll have to trouble you to help me organize the data later."
"Okay...okay, no problem, it's just..."
After hesitating for a moment, Kelin agreed, but she hesitated again halfway through her sentence.
"Just what?" Lucy turned her head and winked at Corinne.
At Ke Lin's instruction, her eyes immediately lit up, but she quickly suppressed her excitement, putting on a worried expression like a little drama queen, and sighed:
"But everyone worked so hard to prepare and win the Fire Hell Riders game, so if we can't have a proper celebration and a break..."
"This... ugh... ahhhhh!!! It's so annoying!"
Lucy scratched her hair in frustration and groaned for a long, long time.
Finally, Lucy returned to normal, turning her head away from everyone, but everyone could clearly see her pretty face flushed, her little mouth pouting, and she said proudly:
"Fine... this won't happen again!"
Suddenly, everyone was stunned.
The next second, Bernice jumped up and suddenly appeared in front of Lucy from several meters away, cheek to cheek, hugging Lucy as she jumped up:
"Yay, Lucy! I love you so much!"
"Don't touch me! Hey, Bernice, get your hand off me right now!"
Lucy pushed Bernice's cheek and struggled to break free from Bernice's clutches.
Looking at everyone, Lucy noticed that everyone seemed much more relaxed, with various smiles of joy on their faces.
Without a doubt, Bernice was the craziest, bouncing and hopping around, stirring and shaking (Note 1) as she ran, spitting sparks, and happily humming "Bernice's Little Tune".
"Bernice, Bernice, GO! GO!!!"
Watching Bernice leave happily, Lucy couldn't help but smile slightly, her eyes gazing intently, and she murmured:
"Honestly, you're such an idiot."
Pfft!
Suddenly, Ke Lin's snickering came from the side.
Lucy turned her head to look, and Colleen immediately covered her mouth, but the image of Lucy's emotional smile, so different from her usual self, still lingered in her mind, and Colleen couldn't help but burst out laughing again.
"I'm...I'm sorry."
"It doesn't matter."
Her laughter was sweet, and Lucy loved it.
so...
"Since you're laughing so happily, it means you're not too tired yet. In that case, come and keep me company while I work overtime!"
"Miss Rope Maker, help!"
"Oh, the rope maker is here too? That's perfect, let's work overtime together. Don't worry, I'll pay you overtime."
...
"So, you finally decided to just leave Corinne there for now?"
They were almost at the city of the Triumphs, but Eileen still couldn't figure it out. After thinking about it for a little while, she gave up.
Since Fagga is right next to me, I can just ask him directly.
“Colleen needs friends, or rather, she needs the experience and courage to make friends.”
With the city in sight, Fagar began to slow down gradually, depressing the clutch to slowly shift from fifth to fourth gear, then to third, while replying:
“It’s different from us. Although the children of Victoria Housekeeping are not very social, there are still differences. We’re lazy, while Colleen is afraid.”
"Being lazy is fine, because you'll have to be diligent when the mission requires it; but being afraid is not good, because there will be many obstacles later. We like Colleen, we like everything about her, but we can't let Colleen always be timid, can we?"
"I'm quite at ease letting her play with the son of Calydon for a few days, with Phaethon watching over her."
Upon entering the city, Fagar glanced around and realized that the so-called tallest building in the city that Lina had mentioned wasn't too far away; they would arrive soon.
Eileen gazed out the window, her little mouth puffed out, and muttered, "I feel very relieved..."
