Vampires exist in books, shows, and movies… BUT IN NEW ERIDU?!
Ellen Joe discovers her quiet classmate Phaga isn’t just reserved—he’s a vampire looking for a job!
Between school...
At one o'clock that afternoon, the sun was shining brightly and the sun was high in the sky.
Fagga spread his hands outwards, and sunlight poured down, instantly causing a tingling, itchy sensation, as if countless ants were biting his skin.
Although it didn't cause much harm to Fagga, it made him feel unwell. His wrists, neck, and other areas exposed to the sun were slightly red.
"Tsk!"
Faga couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement. He then swung his arm and a crystal of ether, about two fingers wide and half a meter long, emerged from his palm and exploded with a bang.
He then revealed an umbrella, identical to the one from the former Kunmutu.
Fagga held it up to block out the sun.
"Is it really that rushed? I thought we wouldn't be able to act until at least tomorrow."
Fagga turned his head to the side; standing beside him were Yuecheng Liu and Number 11.
Yuecheng Liu shook her head slightly and said softly, "No, the food shortage is far beyond our imagination. With our current reserves, we may have to face internal chaos the day after tomorrow, or even a week from now, if we are optimistic."
"Have the troops assembled by the 11th?"
Finally, Yuecheng Liu turned to look at Number 11, her eyes carrying a hint of inquiry.
Number 11 glanced this way and moved his goggles away from his eyes.
Fagar felt dazed. Whenever he saw Number 11's face, he felt a strange sense of familiarity, but he couldn't quite put his finger on where this feeling of familiarity came from.
So Fagar left it at that and listened to Number 11's indifferent statement: "Well, we've assembled. As originally planned, you're responsible for stealthily looting; while I'm responsible for directing the army to conduct a large-scale plunder, mainly to keep things under wraps and buy you time."
“But there are many things going on in the outer ring right now, and a large number of soldiers have been assigned to missions. Even if I do my best, I can only gather five thousand troops. But don’t worry, I can at least hold off the vampire army for two hours to prevent them from interfering with you.”
Yue Chengliu's lips curled into a slightly helpless smile as she said self-deprecatingly, "I never thought that going back to the place we've lived in for decades would be considered 'sneaky.' But it doesn't matter. I'm sure it won't be long before we don't have to sneak back anymore."
As soon as she finished speaking, Yue Chengliu suddenly heard an unusual sound of footsteps. She turned around and saw that it was Ai Lian carrying Zhu Yuan and running back.
As Zhu Yuan screamed in alarm, her two long legs swung wildly in the air, keeping pace with Ai Lian's tail, both Yue Cheng Liu and Fa Jia couldn't help but chuckle. They watched as Ai Lian sidestepped, scraping a ten-centimeter-deep trench in the ground, which then stretched to a length of three meters.
"Faga, I'm back, a few minutes earlier than expected."
Ellen slowly got up and walked over, her little face flushed. Like a child, she tilted her head up and stared expectantly into Fagga's eyes, as if seeking encouragement from her family.
Seeing this, Fagar couldn't help but smile. As if by magic, he pulled a lollipop from his sleeve, and with a flick of his fingers, the candy coating vanished. He presented it to Ellen, saying helplessly:
"Okay, okay, I know my Ellen is amazing, but don't stand in front of me with that 'please praise me' look on your face!"
"I want it! I really worked hard to squeeze out a few minutes from my already demanding requirements!"
Ellen gave a soft snort, took the lollipop from Fagar's hand, and turned her head away, refusing to look at Fagar again.
His body, however, honestly moved closer to Faga step by step, and together they crawled into the shadows of Kunmutu to avoid the sun.
Fagar smiled and took Ellen's hand.
Eileen still turned her head away, her already rosy face becoming even more flushed. Because she had candy in her mouth, she mumbled, "Let's get this straight, I was hiding under your umbrella because it was too hot outside. Letting you touch my hand is my rent."
What about my rent...?
As soon as Eileen finished speaking, a small hand reached out from behind her.
With great effort, the little doll struggled to pull itself up, and it took it quite a while. The black and white doll was panting heavily, exhausted and weak, even its voice betrayed its exhaustion.
Hey Shark Sister, you can run this fast without exploiting me, right? Even that stinky vampire who holds an umbrella for you gets paid, so what about me?
Hearing this, Eileen pouted, grabbed the black and white doll from her shoulder and pulled it in front of her, pinching its big belly and saying, "I've already been very kind of you to let you out of the void and to grant you a certain degree of freedom, okay? Now you have to pay the price for your freedom."
"Honestly, can't you be a little more obedient? When I need you, you're not around, and I have to go find you myself."
[Waaaaah~ How was I supposed to know when you'd need me? Shark sister, are you bullying me?]
The black and white doll had tears in its eyes, looking like it would cry in front of Eileen if she continued to scold it.
