I transmigrated into a book.
I became a demon with amnesia, and was kindly taken in by a family with the surname Gao. Although I lost my memory, luckily I still had my magic. I heard I even h...
Chapter 27 "Tonight I will marry Bao'e."...
The swordsman asked, "Are you afraid of your master?"
Bao'e said, "I am not a thief who commits crimes, nor am I afraid of him. It's just that his temperament is unpredictable, which really makes people dizzy and unable to deal with him."
It turned out that this swordsman had only been a disciple for a short time before being ordered to subdue demons and monsters, and he was not familiar with his master.
He asked, "Did you practice like this before, Senior Sister?"
“That’s right, that’s right,” Bao’e said. “I only saw him once when I became his disciple, and he sent me around to catch demons. It was probably several decades or even a hundred years before he called me back.”
"Wouldn't that be incredibly difficult?"
Unexpectedly, this simpleton was quite insightful, saying only, "Cooking also requires building a stove and starting a fire. Chopping wood is hard work, and starting a fire is tiring, but if you know early on that cooking requires chopping wood and starting a fire, you can endure the hardship and fatigue."
The swordsman understood and thanked her.
Bao'e waved her hand, not caring.
The swordsman then said, "Now that I have retrieved my sword pouch and taken that sinister soul-hooking rope, I may be able to break through this illusory realm. It would be better to just break out directly than to be trapped here."
"No, no!" Bao'e said. "If it fails, we will die. Even if we succeed, he can use that brush again to create another illusory realm. What will happen then?"
The swordsman pondered, "In that case, it would be better to use a scheme to take his life directly."
Just then, a servant came running in from outside the door, calling for Bao'e to come and eat vegetarian food.
The servant was a bandit in disguise, and his words were often disrespectful. The swordsman, having retrieved his sword pouch and regained his strength, simply rushed out the door and slashed with his sword.
The bandit was no good and easily defeated; he was cleaved in two by a single sword strike.
The swordsman carefully observed his appearance, and then, facing the wind, transformed into his likeness.
Bao'e, who was watching from the side, nodded repeatedly: "What a skill! What a skill! Brother, it is often said that 'if you raise a child but do not teach him, it is the father's fault.' Since you have this ability to change your appearance, why don't you just become that Young Master Nie's father and ask him to send us out?"
Upon hearing this, Yan Jinxue couldn't help but laugh.
He also joked, "You only know 'It is the father's fault if he raises his children but does not teach them,' but you don't know the principle of 'If you are not stupid or deaf, you cannot be a father-in-law'? It's like the old man not taking care of the young."
“That makes sense, after all, that evil spirit isn’t a child of a few years old.” Bao’e watched him stuff a long, soul-snatching rope into a palm-sized brocade pouch, and suddenly asked, “Brother, what’s that in your hand?”
"It's a brocade pouch given to me by my master; it can hold a thousand things and all kinds of objects."
“It’s a treasure.” Bao’e stared intently at it, murmuring, “With this, Master has many more treasures now.”
The swordsman disguised himself as a servant and led her to a vegetarian meal.
On the way, Bao'e refused to get close to him, always keeping a few steps away.
He asked her why, and she mumbled, "Brother, to tell you the truth, although you still look human upon closer inspection, you've become somewhat ugly."
Hearing this, he laughed and said, "But it has ruined your vegetarian mood."
"A little bit."
The two of them went straight to the main hall.
The table was laden with rice, noodles, and vegetables, more exquisite than ever before, featuring many rare and exotic delicacies: steaming hot fragrant rice, tofu fried in clear oil, tender bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, yams, and cooked vegetable gluten... There were also fresh fruits such as oranges, peaches, and lychees, as well as fragrant rice wine made from grapes.
Bao'e stared at him intently.
Young Master Nie stood to the side, his face veiled, revealing only a pair of listless eyes.
A beautiful face, once so serene and aloof, is now blurred and indistinct, with only a faint outline visible.
When Bao'e saw this, she asked, "You rascal, why are you covering your face? Are you secretly hiding something good to eat?"
Nie Guiyu: "Who are you calling?"
"Brother, why are you covering your face? I can't see your mouth."
Young Master Nie sneered, "I went out this morning and ran into that rascal. I fought him for dozens of rounds and got a few injuries, including some cuts and bruises on my face."
The idiot was stunned and asked blankly, "You ran away because you couldn't beat them?"
Young Master Nie was so angry that his eyes bulged and his head ached.
He said, "If he were truly capable, he would have broken in long ago, instead of standing outside as a guard."
Bao'e thought to herself, "That impatient monkey is lucky to have such sharp eyes, why does he always choose to slap my face?"
She rushed forward to check his face for any injuries.
Nie Guiyu refused, saying that his face was ugly and he did not want to show it to others.
Bao'e panicked, and Hu rushed forward to tear off her veil.
Having witnessed her abilities and knowing her immense strength, Young Master Nie, fearing a commotion, simply removed his veil.
He said bitterly, "Look, look! But don't you dare humiliate me, or I'll bring your master here and have him eat with you."
Bao'e noticed a red mark on his cheek, which was not ugly, but rather resembled the glow of the sunset on jade.
She was relieved and said happily, "Don't worry, it's alright, it's alright, the monkey will help you apply rouge."
Nie Guiyu sneered a few times: "So you're going to apply rouge? You'll knock that rouge into my bones with one blow, as if you're afraid you won't kill me."
He said this, but seeing that she showed no disgust and her expression relaxed, he pulled her back and asked her to help him apply the medicine.
"Bring the medicine," he ordered his close servant.
Unexpectedly, the servant he called was actually a swordsman in disguise.
The swordsman retrieved the medicine and was about to hand it to him when suddenly his wrist flicked, and the bottle of medicine fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
He apologized, saying, "My hand hurt a lot, so I let go. Please don't be offended, sir."
Enraged, Nie Guiyu was about to kill him.
Unexpectedly, Bao'e suddenly said, "I want to eat. Why are you killing people? In the old days, I could share a few bites with you, but now I only eat vegetarian food and I don't eat people anymore. Don't try to trick me into committing a crime."
He gave up, his face cold, and ordered the swordsman to sweep the ground clean before going to fetch the medicine.
Bao'e was completely absorbed in the vegetarian meal, paying no attention to anyone else, and ate heartily, finishing six or seven bowls in the blink of an eye.
Nie Guiyu stepped forward, wanting to eat vegetarian food with her.
Before they could even sit down, the "little servant" suddenly squeezed between them.
Bao'e remained motionless, but he was pushed aside by the "little servant," and almost fell over.
He was furious and cursed, "You little beast, how can you be so stupid? Can't you see I was about to sit down? You had to squeeze in like a whirlwind, making me suffer for no reason. You deserve to die today!"
The swordsman said, “Young master, don’t get angry, listen to me. You want to sit right next to this Bodhisattva, but you didn’t consider that the scar on your face hasn’t fully healed. It’s a bright red, bloody scar. If she sees it, how can she have the heart to eat vegetarian food? Someone as ugly as me knows that I’m not pleasing to people, so I don’t dare to go near her.”
His words seemed reasonable, but they struck at the heart of that vengeful spirit's sore spot.
Upon hearing this, Young Master Nie suddenly looked at Bao'e.
Although she focused on eating vegetarian food, in his eyes, she would stare at him without blinking; when she smiled, it was as if she was mocking his ugly face; if she chewed even a little slowly, it was because he was disgusted and she couldn't eat anymore.
The ghost was so panicked that it trembled and wanted to hide.
He hurriedly straightened his clothes, raised his sleeve to cover his face, refusing to show himself, and then snatched the medicine from the swordsman's hand, intending to apply it to his face.
Despite the commotion, Bao'e was completely unaware.
All she could see were the steaming hot sesame cakes and steamed buns, and all she could hear was the bubbling sound of boiling water. She would occasionally look up and call out, "More rice! More rice!" She paid no heed to the ghost's anxious heart.
So when Young Master Nie finished applying the medicine and putting on his veil, he looked at her again and saw that the "little servant" had already sat down next to Bao'e and was scooping soup into her mouth.
Good Bao'e, with a pancake in one hand and a steamed bun in the other, her mouth stuffed full, how could she possibly have a third hand to drink soup?
Fortunately, someone was there to serve her. Every time she swallowed the vegetables, they would feed her a sip of soup, which made her feel refreshed.
Nie Guiyu was furious.
He stepped forward, grabbed the "servant" and pulled him up, cursing, "What do you want, you wretched servant? Just now you said he was ugly and not to be approached, but now you're having lewd thoughts right under my nose? Are you trying to get yourself killed!"
The swordsman subtly brushed his hand away, saying, "Young master, please calm down and don't misunderstand me. I was just helping this Bodhisattva out because I saw he wasn't eating vegetarian food properly."
"You have a kind heart, yet you do," Young Master Nie sneered. "I bought the food and worked hard to build the stove and cook, but I expect you to be my helper, handing me a bowl of soup. If it weren't for this auspicious day, I would have beaten you to death and helped you be reincarnated as a butcher who specializes in making soup."
The swordsman understood that he couldn't wait to marry Bao'e, and that the feast on the table was also a wedding banquet.
He said, "I've heard that there are immortals watching over this place, so this marriage may not go well."
Nie Guiyu's face turned ashen: "With an impregnable wall blocking his way, how can it not work?"
The swordsman continued, "Young master, will you also wear a veil to cover your face when you get married? Or will you remove this thin veil on the wedding day and let the Bodhisattva see your painted face?"
Nie Guiyu cursed him: "You wretched servant deserve to die. She doesn't mind me, but you have to be so nosy."
The swordsman laughed, "Perhaps it's a case of 'the mouth doesn't mind, but the heart does.'"
Just as the swordsman was about to respond, Young Master Nie suddenly calmed down.
He chuckled coldly, "I won't kill you today to avoid bloodshed. You just reminded me that I'm marrying Bao'e tonight. Go fetch some clean water; it'll make you look good and also make it easier for you to bathe at that time of year."
"There's one more thing," Young Master Nie instructed. "Although I'll spare you for now, I won't let you live as a slave for the rest of your life. Tonight, you'll be a guard outside the door, and I'll kill you tomorrow morning."
Yan Jinxue's smile gradually faded.
He turned his head to look at Bao'e.
