Chapter 227 Dad! Come save me!

It was already past midnight.

Under the dim moonlight, the people hanging on the cliff face looked at each other in bewilderment.

A cold wind blew, making the men shiver. Jin Jiande, clutching the rope in his hand, was pale and bloodless. He spoke in a trembling voice:

"Xiao Yiming, do you know, I have never been so embarrassed before."

Xiao Yiming was observing the rock formations from left and right, pondering which way to go, when he heard Jin Jiande speak. He immediately replied:

"Yes, Your Highness."

"I rarely look this disheveled."

No sooner had he finished speaking than he spotted a protruding rock and threw his grappling hook at it, while his three men followed suit.

The hooks didn't hit all the targets; one person even missed.

Jin Jiande clung tightly to the rock face, not daring to look down, his legs trembling every now and then.

He spoke again: "I... I shouldn't be in a place like this."

“I should be at home, not here.”

"How did I end up like this? How did I become like this!" Jin Jiande's teeth chattered, whether from the cold or from the sheer terror of the height.

Xiao Yiming tugged at the rope to make sure it was secure, then looked up at Jin Jiande and said:

"Yes, Your Highness."

"We really shouldn't have come here. It's too dangerous. Too many people died in this battle."

“All my brothers are dead, only the five of us are left.” Xiao Yiming sighed as he said this.

"Damn Qin Ze, how despicable! He actually pushed me to this point!" Jin Jiande's pale face was almost distorted as he viciously clenched his fist.

But then, there was a loud "bang".

A rock fell from beneath his feet. Jin Jiande's eyes narrowed, and he hurriedly pressed his hands against the rock wall, his face turning pale with fright.

"Your Highness, please do not move."

"If you fell, you'd be a meat pie. It's already a great achievement that we managed to bring you this far." After checking the ropes, Xiao Yiming winked at someone next to him.

Then, the man swung across, his footing steady. Once he was sure there were no problems, the others followed suit.

After Xiao Yiming swam over, he looked at Jin Jiande and said:

"Your Highness, come here."

call--

The wind was blowing hard, and Jin Jiande was trembling violently. He finally lowered his head, looking at the dark scene below. He sniffed, and then said in a trembling voice:

“I said we shouldn’t have gone this way, it’s too difficult.”

"How can we get away like this? We might as well do as I said, change our clothes, hide in a pile of corpses, and play dead."

Xiao Yiming shook his head, looked up at him and said:

"No, Your Highness."

“Your status is distinguished. Qin Ze knows you have entered the mountains, so he will definitely search for your whereabouts carefully.”

“He’ll search through even a pile of corpses. I think these soldiers have a habit of finishing off the dead.”

"If I stabbed you a few times, you definitely wouldn't survive."

Hearing this, Jin Jiande's face grew even paler, and he changed the subject:

"I'm coming, catch me."

"Yes, Your Highness, come on, I'll catch you."

Although he had said it, Jin Jiande still didn't move. After mentally preparing himself, he closed his eyes, grabbed the rope, and rushed forward.

As expected, Jin Jiande, with his eyes closed, fell down.

Xiao Yiming and his companions held tightly to the rope, the other end of which was tightly bound to Jin Jiande.

The binding method was very sophisticated; it wasn't just a rope tied around his waist, as that would have caused his lumbar spine to break due to the force of the fall.

Jin Jiande, who was hanging in mid-air, opened his eyes and gripped the rope tightly, but the expression on his face became more and more miserable.

"How could I have been so impulsive as to come here?" He was almost in tears.

Xiao Yiming pulled hard on the rope, his face calm as he replied:

"There's nothing we can do, Your Highness. Judging from this battle, anyone who comes in will die."

"The barbarian tribes numbered in the hundreds of thousands; they were probably all killed."

"Your Highness, it's not that we're too weak, it's just that Qin Ze, this Qin Ze..."

He paused, seemingly considering his words, but his hand was still pulling the rope.

Jin Jiande tried hard not to think about the height below, and said in a trembling voice, "No, it's no use, we can't hold on any longer."

Xiao Yiming had already lifted him up by then. Hearing this, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "What do you mean you can't stop it?"

Clinging tightly to the rock face, Jin Jiande uttered a few words from his slightly purple lips:

"This traitor's momentum is probably unstoppable," he said tremblingly.

Xiao Yiming did not respond; he was looking for a suitable place to land below.

But at that moment, his eyes narrowed and he perked up his ears.

"Pat-pat-pat".

Footsteps approached from not far away, and everyone fell silent upon hearing them.

Jin Jiande was so frightened that he almost fainted.

If Xiao Yiming hadn't been holding him tightly, he would have fallen headfirst.

Just then, a series of "tick-tock" sounds came.

Xiao Yiming frowned and looked down slightly, only to see water stains at his feet.

The person next to them lowered their head, but upon seeing the water stains, quickly looked up and looked elsewhere.

The stench of urine filled the air. Jin Jiande lowered his head and urged in a low voice, "Hurry, we need to get down here as soon as possible!"

"Yes, Your Highness."

"Your Highness, hurry up, I need to speed up."

Hearing the sounds above receding into the distance, Xiao Yiming threw the grappling hook again, and the group continued to carefully descend.

But a moment later, stones fell directly from above.

Jin Jiande was shocked and hurriedly said, "Quick, quick, quick!"
