"Da da da".
The continuous sound of iron hooves hitting the ground was like drumsticks falling on a drumhead, and the ground seemed to tremble.
The cavalry, divided into several squads, armed with spears, hammers, and other weapons, charged toward a group of soldiers rushing toward them.
Opposite them was a group of soldiers clad in armor.
Each of them gripped a ten-foot-long broadsword tightly in both hands. The blades were sharpened on both sides, and the silvery-white edges gleamed with a chilling aura.
The eyes of the Mo Dao soldiers were like those of hunting tigers; they had already locked their gazes on these cavalrymen.
On this chaotic battlefield, roars filled with boundless fighting spirit resounded through the sky.
"kill!"
"kill!"
Amidst the thunderous sound of galloping hooves, the distance between the two groups grew ever closer and closer!
The cavalrymen had already raised their lances, and their armored warhorses, puffing out white breaths, charged forward, sending grass flying everywhere under their heavy hooves.
Finally, after a few breaths, a cavalryman suddenly shot out his lance, aiming straight at the head of a Mo Dao (a type of long-handled swordsman) in front of him!
The speed of the galloping horse and the speed of the thrusting spear combined to create an impact that was enough to smash the head of the swordsman into a pulp and turn him into a mangled corpse!
But at that moment, the swordsman also moved!
"Get down here!"
With a loud shout, the swordsman bent over, his body arched, and he stepped forward with his left foot, landing firmly on the ground.
He used his waist and abdomen to exert force, and then the longsword he gripped tightly in both hands spun in the air, executing a straight horizontal slash—
The target wasn't the lofty cavalryman, but the four hooves of the warhorse!
"ha!"
A short, sharp syllable, yet bursting with explosive power, was shouted from the mouth of the swordsman.
A flash of light, like a bolt of lightning, streaked across the battlefield, reflecting in the slightly horrified eyes of the cavalryman.
The next moment—
There was a loud "poof" sound!
The sharp blade precisely slashed into the warhorse's hoof, and two severed hooves flew up amidst the flying blood.
The warhorse's hind legs were still galloping wildly, but the next moment, the armored warhorse tumbled forward.
The swordsman nimbly dodged to the side, avoiding being hit by the heavy object that weighed over a thousand pounds.
A deafening roar!
The cavalryman, along with his horse whose hoof had been cut off, crashed heavily to the ground!
"hiss--"
Only then did the warhorse, whose forelegs had been severed by a single blow, let out a desperate and painful neigh.
With that neigh, the cavalryman on horseback coughed up a mouthful of blood, caused by his body hitting the ground and his open mouth biting his tongue.
While heavy armor is undoubtedly excellent for defense and possesses formidable lethality during a charge, capable of both blocking and killing, if the momentum of the charge is abruptly interrupted, then that weight will inflict heavy casualties on the cavalry.
The cavalryman's mouth was full of blood, his brain was buzzing, and the intense dizziness made it difficult for him to even get up immediately.
But his body's instincts compelled him to grab the spear from the ground and roll haphazardly to the side.
The instant after he rolled over, a long-handled sword was embedded in the ground where he had been lying!
It's a Mo Dao (陌刀) user! He's already rushed over and struck with his blade!
"hiss--"
The cavalryman who dodged the blow struggled to his feet, swallowed the blood in his mouth, gripped his spear tightly, and assumed a fighting stance.
But at this moment, the dizziness in his head was still echoing, which made him even see the Mo Dao hand in front of him as if there were three people.
The waves of pain in his chest made it difficult for him to stand up straight, so he could only bend over and grit his teeth to endure the pain of falling to the ground.
And just then!
The three swordsmen with long swords rushed over at the same time, their movements synchronized, and they all slashed down at the same moment!
Damn it!
The cavalryman was terrified and could only desperately try to block one of the men with his spear!
"Prepare to die!"
This roar plunged the cavalry into despair.
He knew he had misjudged the situation.
The moment the gun was swung, his eyes cleared, the three swordsmen became one, and his gun swung into the air.
With a "click".
The cavalryman suddenly shuddered, and a large amount of warm blood spurted from his neck, where the longsword had pierced his neck.
The armor was breached, and the longsword slashed into the vulnerable neck. The flesh was sliced open like tofu, while the hard neck bone seemed to become a withered branch, easily severed.
The cavalryman's eyes, which had only been clear for a moment, became cloudy again.
Before darkness completely engulfed him, the last thing he saw was the leaping figure of the Mo Dao wielder, who was slashing the Mo Dao at the hoof of another cavalryman.
"Such a fast knife..."
As the last thought echoed in his mind, the cavalryman's cloudy eyes were plunged into complete darkness.
Beside his body lay several other corpses, some human, some horse.
Without exception, these corpses all died in extremely gruesome ways; almost none of them were intact.
This horrific scene fueled the remaining cavalrymen's rage even more. Their faces flushed red, veins bulged on their foreheads, and they roared:
"kill!"
On the other side of the battlefield.
A long-handled broadsword slashed fiercely downwards at Vice General Wan Yan, who was standing on the ground with his warhorse lying beside him.
But at this moment, the warhorse's forelegs had been severed. If Wan Yan hadn't reacted quickly enough and jumped off before the warhorse fell, he would have fallen to the ground along with it.
