Chapter 319 Borrowing Heavenly Soldiers and Generals

Now that everyone knows the Japanese are going to storm Linbin City, the refugees surrounding the city gate no longer choose to charge through it.

Only those hidden Japanese soldiers were still desperately rushing forward, but the defending soldiers showed no mercy and directly blocked and killed them at the city gate!

But the most important task at the moment is not to fight the Japanese, but to close the city gates and prevent the Japanese army behind from entering.

Fortunately, the Japanese hiding among the refugees were unarmored, and although they had weapons, they were only short-bladed weapons, so their combat strength was not very strong.

After repelling several Japanese soldiers, the city gate was finally closed!

But the closed city gates meant that the refugees still outside the city were now under the control of the Japanese, and their only fate was death.

On the city wall, Song Ke's eyes were bloodshot. He was organizing his soldiers to use ranged weapons to attack the Japanese army. He dared not look at the people below the city wall anymore.

They blocked the invading Japanese outside the city and shot them as many times as possible with bows and arrows.

This was the only thing he could do: Linbin City absolutely could not be allowed to fall into the hands of the Japanese.

Meanwhile, a battle was also breaking out in the inner city.

Among the refugees who had already entered were Japanese, but with the city gates closed, these Japanese were now trapped like turtles in a jar!

Fuming with rage, Su Hong, his eyes bloodshot, was leading his soldiers in a pincer movement!

His rage had blinded him, and he showed no mercy to his enemies!

Outside the city, Ono Jiro watched as the city gates closed, and his clansmen who had already entered were now in grave danger. Enraged, he roared in fury:

"You bastards! You forced me to do this!"

Qian Shouyi, who was standing nearby, chimed in, "General Ono, Song Ke is stubborn and incorrigible. He sent these people to obstruct us. After we break into the city, we must drag him out and kill him as a warning to others!"

Ono Jiro turned around and roared at him:

"Baka! It's all your fault!"

"If they hadn't opened the city gates in the first place, and our people hadn't gone in, they wouldn't have captured us now!"

"The city gates are closed! Look at all the defenses on the city walls. By the time we storm into the city, all our men will be wiped out!"

"Given the current situation, can we still capture Linbin City immediately?"

Upon hearing this, Qian Shouyi broke out in a cold sweat and hurriedly said:

"General, this...this has nothing to do with me."

"This plan was proposed by you; I just..."

Before he could finish speaking, Ono Jiro roared:

"Can't you see clearly? Song Ke was suspicious from the beginning, which is why he didn't open the city gates!"

"Now that we know he's become suspicious, we should retreat! We need to think of another way!"

"But you were in such a hurry to enter the city that the plan has failed at the last minute. You still insisted on a direct assault, and you even let our people into the city for nothing, only to have them fall into their hands!"

Ono Jiro grew angrier as he spoke, his face turning completely red.

Qian Shouyi, however, felt wronged, thinking that these words were completely distorting the truth and utterly unreasonable.

But when you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head; all he could say was:

"Yes, yes, General Ono is right."

"At this point, there's no other way but to launch a full-scale attack."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Ono Jiro shouted angrily:

"We should have let you infiltrate the refugee camp in the first place, instead of making my people act as refugees!"

Upon hearing this, Qian Shouyi wiped the sweat from his brow and retorted in a low voice:

"General, I don't have many men under my command, and you took that into consideration when you decided not to let..."

"Shut up!" Ono Jiro interrupted coldly, his eyes sweeping over Qian Shouyi like knives.

Sensing the unfriendly gaze, Qian Shouyi felt a chill run down his spine.

He understood that his plan had failed, and Ono Jiro was being unreasonable and had taken his anger out on him. Even if he eventually gained control of Rinbin, he would probably not have an easy time working under Ono Jiro.

But now they're in a bind; having already chosen to side with them, Da Gan certainly won't tolerate them anymore.

Qian Shouyi looked up and saw that the area was in complete chaos, with a fierce fight raging.

There were still a large number of refugees near the city gate. Since the Japanese could not enter the city for the time being, they shot arrows at the city tower from a distance, and some people were even shooting and killing refugees.

Qian Shouyi's heart skipped a beat, and he shouted towards the city wall:

"Song Ke! Are you really going to insist on refusing to open the door?"

"If you don't open the gate, all these people outside the city will die because of you!"

"Your decision will kill everyone!"

On the city tower, Song Ke heard Qian Shouyi's words, and he felt both angry and sad.

What angered me was that, as a fellow member of the Daqian people, Qian Shouyi had become a lackey of Japan, and even wanted to turn his sword against his own people.

Tragically, he was powerless to save the people outside the city who had fallen victim to the cruelty of Japan.

There are many more people in Linbin City behind us. If the Japanese invaders enter the city, even more people will die.

Faced with this dilemma, only some people could be sacrificed. As the official in charge of caring for the people, Song Ke was filled with grief but had no choice but to accept it.

He sighed inwardly:

"We worked so hard, how did we end up like this?"

"In the past, General Huwei led the Chiyan Army to slaughter everyone in the land, and the Japanese were terrified. If they hadn't been defeated in the last battle, how could things have turned out like this today!"

"I knew that as long as Japan had a breath left, it would definitely invade and cause great trouble in the future."

"Accepting peace with Japan is utterly ridiculous! What a foolish ruler! What a foolish ruler!"

"Until Japan is eliminated, there will be no peace!"

Arrows flew everywhere, and screams and cries filled the air, pulling Song Ke back to reality.

Looking out of the city again, Song Ke's eyes were already filled with tears, but even so, he still raised his arms and shouted:
