Inner city defense zone.
Song Ke, who was forcibly driven away by the soldiers, was pale-faced, and the blood on his shoulder had stained half of his body.
The soldiers who had previously protected him had joined the battle, and at this point, no one could break away.
Watching the enemy troops continuously rushing into the city gate, Song Ke gritted his teeth and picked up a knife from the ground.
Although he was not young, he was a soldier by profession. Even though he had not personally fought on the battlefield for many years after becoming a civil official, the moment he held the sword in his hand, that long-lost feeling returned to him.
Without the slightest hesitation, he first threw off his official hat, then took off his long robe. The broken arrow in his shoulder was still there, and the pain continued to radiate.
But he didn't utter a sound. Instead, he took a few quick steps and then slashed at the enemy soldiers who were fighting.
The silver blade pierced through the enemy soldier's vest, and the soldier, his eyes wide, struggled to turn his head.
"Old man, you attacked me from behind..."
Song Ke remained silent, but with a flick of his wrist, the blade stirred within the enemy soldier's chest cavity.
With a "poof" sound!
Song Ke drew his knife, spraying a large amount of blood!
Just then, a long spear thrust at him from the side!
The gun was pointed at none other than Song Ke!
The shot came quickly and fiercely. Song Ke raised an eyebrow and hurriedly dodged to the side.
Even so, the spear still grazed his chest!
A sneer followed:
"Wow! Lord Song, you're quite skilled! Despite your advanced age, you managed to dodge my shot!"
"I wonder how many more shots you can dodge!"
Riding on horseback, Liang Gongzhi's hair was charred black with obvious burn marks, and even his face was burned. His body was stained with blood, and a sinister smile was on his face.
"Liang Gongzhi! You traitor! If I were ten years younger, I could have chopped off your dog's head with a single stroke!" Song Ke bent his knees slightly, his eyes fixed on the young general in front of him.
Upon hearing this, Liang Gongzhi's expression grew even more ferocious, and he roared:
"You old bastard, you almost burned me to death by setting fire!"
"It's laughable that you're old and senile, still trying to be a hero and defend the city. Do you even have the ability?"
"Hey! Prepare to die!"
The moment he finished speaking, Liang Gongzhi flicked his spear, creating a beautiful flourish, and thrust it straight at Song Ke!
Song Ke snorted coldly: "Fancy and frivolous!"
He leaned back slightly to avoid the spear, rolled on the spot, and then slashed at the horse's hoof with his sword!
This is Song Ke's consistent tactic for dealing with cavalry, a tactic he has used for many years!
Although the tricks were effective, Song Ke had lost the agility he had in his youth.
Before the blade could strike the horse's hoof, Liang Gongzhi's spear fell to the ground, forcefully blocking the attack!
"Too slow! You old geezer!"
Before Song Ke could react, Liang Gongzhi had already thrust out several spears in succession. Song Ke had not yet stood up and could only roll on the ground in a sorry state.
The spear thrust faster and faster, almost piercing Song Ke. Just then, a glint flashed in Song Ke's eyes, and he grabbed a handful of bloody soil and threw it at Liang Gongzhi's face!
Caught off guard, Liang Gongzhi's view was obstructed, and he could only pull the reins backward.
But at that very moment, a knife shot towards him!
Liang Gongzhi snorted coldly and deflected the knife with his spear, but then a horse neighed and leaped high into the air, causing Liang Gongzhi to stagger and fall off the horse!
With a loud crash, the warhorse fell heavily to the ground, and blood flowed from its abdominal cavity.
It was caused by another knife that Song Ke picked up and threw!
Only then did Song Ke stand up, panting heavily. Because of the large movement, more and more blood was flowing from his shoulder, and the intense pain almost made the left side of his body stiff.
"Now, what do you have to fight me with?"
Liang Gongzhi stood up, his face cold, and walked towards Song Ke with his spear in hand.
At this moment, the two were surrounded by soldiers fighting each other, mostly siege soldiers, who had already gained the upper hand.
In the distance, Su Hong was covered in blood, surrounded by enemy soldiers, and was desperately hacking away at them.
No one can help Song Ke.
But Song Ke remained fearless. He clenched his right fist and said coldly:
"I intended to save my strength to kill the Japanese, but now I'm using it to kill you, you lackey. It's not worth it."
"But it doesn't matter. At my age, killing one more lackey like you is a bonus!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Liang Gongzhi laughed loudly, looking up at the sky:
"Make money? Let's see if you can make it!"
He gripped a long spear and charged forward!
Just then, a furious roar rang out:
"Do not harm Lord Song!"
As soon as he said that, something flew towards him, heading straight for the back of Liang Gongzhi's head!
Liang Gongzhi suddenly turned around and thrust his spear at the flying object!
With a "snap".
A wood-chopping knife fell to the ground.
Upon seeing the dark, rough machete, Liang Gongzhi looked at the person who had thrown it. It was a man wearing a coarse cloth shirt, and beside him were a group of people dressed as farmers.
Only a small number of them carried knives; most of them carried farm tools.
Several of them were holding iron pots in their left hands and iron shovels in their right, looking quite comical.
Liang Gongzhi laughed in fury: "You dare to fight us with this thing!"
The next instant, he roared, "You fucking bastards are asking for death!"
But clearly, the shout didn't have much of a deterrent effect, and the people roared and charged forward!
"Kill this lackey!"
"Kill him!"
"Get him!"
The people roared wildly as they charged forward.
