Suddenly, Jin Changge picked up a piece of fatty meat and stuffed it into Qing'er's open mouth.
Qing'er was taken aback, but she never refused any food offered to her, so without much hesitation, she immediately started chewing.
"Is it delicious?" Jin Changge asked, pursing her lips.
"Hmm...it's alright." Qing'er swallowed it and licked her glossy lips.
"Then eat more."
Jin Changge picked up another piece of food with her chopsticks and offered it to Qing'er, but Qing'er quickly waved her hand and refused, saying, "How can this be, Miss? I've already eaten."
"You've prepared so much, I can't finish it all. Come on, open your mouth." Jin Changge continued to offer the food, and Qing'er smiled shyly and took it.
So, with Qing'er's repeated refusals and her indiscriminate opening of her mouth, the two finished the meal.
Finally, the sun had completely set. Qing'er took the empty rice bowl from Jin Changge, placed it on the table, and lit a candle.
In the dim candlelight, she sat down on the edge of the bed again, looking at Jin Changge who was leaning against the headboard, and said:
"Miss, you haven't told me yet."
"What did you say?" Jin Changge lay on the blanket, staring blankly at the flickering candle.
Qing'er grabbed her hand, pulled it and shook it, her round eyes staring at her.
Looking at her, Jin Changge reached out and pinched her round cheek, pursing his lips as he said, "His Majesty said he would take me back to Jinling."
As soon as she finished speaking, Qing'er's eyes widened suddenly, and then immediately curved into crescent moons.
"Is...is that so?! This is really..."
She excitedly hugged Jin Changge tightly, rolling her face against his chest, murmuring intermittently, "That's wonderful, that's wonderful."
Jin Changge remained calm as she stroked Qing'er's head, her eyes fixed on the sky outside the window, which was not yet completely dark.
Qing'er lifted her face from her embrace, looked at her calm expression, and asked, "What's wrong, Miss? Don't you want to?"
āIām willing.ā Jin Changge lowered his head and looked at her with a faint smile.
"Then why do I feel like you're not too happy? Could it be that His Majesty forced you?" Qing'er asked, frowning.
Jin Changge shook his head and smiled, then pointed a finger at her fair forehead: "Nonsense, who can force me?"
"I am now free, and nothing can bind me anymore."
Hearing Jin Changge's explanation, Qing'er chuckled and snuggled into her arms again, muttering, "That's good."
Jin Changge lowered his head, pressed his face against Qing'er's head, gently held her in his arms, and let out a barely audible sigh.
Qing'er tightened her grip on Jin Changge's waist, then suddenly whispered, "Miss, are you... thinking about the Second Prince...?"
