Chapter 632 The New Testament

After saying this, Qin Ze fell silent.

The girl was well aware of what he was thinking, and her guilt grew stronger. After a brief silence, she finally spoke with deep remorse:

"sorry."

The weightless apology made the girl feel ashamed, but she knew that she could not make any amends other than saying "I'm sorry".

"It has nothing to do with you." At this moment, Qin Ze took a deep breath, rubbed his face, straightened his back, and looked at Jin Changge.

“But…” The girl looked away as she felt his gaze.

"What's there to 'but' about?"

"If he could appear in my dream at night, he would never say a bad word about you. I can see that clearly, so how could he not?" Qin Ze waved his hand, his expression gradually returning to normal.

These words lessened the girl's guilt considerably, so she lowered her head and gave a soft "hmm".

"We're heading back to Beijing tomorrow, you know?" Qin Ze repeated the purpose of his trip.

"Okay." The girl didn't look up, but readily agreed.

Qin Ze looked at the girl with her head down, opened his mouth as if to say something, but hesitated for a moment. The girl kept her head down and didn't say anything, and the atmosphere became silent for a moment.

After a long pause, Qin Ze leaned forward slightly and said in a low voice:

"After returning to Beijing, you..."

The girl suddenly looked up and spoke at that moment:

"Do you still remember...?"

Both of them spoke at that moment, their words overlapping, so they both stopped what they were about to say.

"You go first," Qin Ze said, gesturing with his lips.

"Do you remember when I visited your house? I was ten years old, it was at night," the girl asked, her bright eyes wide.

Qin Ze was taken aback, then nodded with a smile after a moment's thought: "Yes."

"I remember it very clearly, you came to challenge me late at night."

Upon hearing this, the girl's face flushed red: "Nonsense, what are you talking about, a tournament?"

"I'm not making this up. You insisted on fighting me, and I even got punched in the face by you." Qin Ze touched his left cheek, seemingly presenting evidence.

"That doesn't count, it was just for fun. Who told you to only have rudimentary skills back then?" the girl retorted.

Qin Ze didn't take it seriously and asked, "Why are you suddenly bringing this up?"

Seeing his question, the girl hesitated and said, "Didn't you lose face in front of everyone by being punched by me, and then you had a fight with your father and went back to your room in a huff?"

Qin Ze's brows furrowed as he mentally began to formulate a rebuttal.

But the girl continued, "After you went back to the house, I didn't leave. I talked with General Huwei alone in the garden for a long time. Before I left, he originally said that he wanted me to take a few words back with me, but then he thought about it and didn't say it."

"I'd like to ask, did he say anything to you afterwards?"

Hearing this, Qin Ze finally understood why the girl had brought up this past event.

Thus, memories that had been buried in the past began to surface more clearly in my mind.

In fact, he had almost forgotten everything that happened that night. After all, he had been punched in the face by Jin Changge in front of several friends, and because of that, they often teased him about it afterward, so it left a deep impression on him.

He clearly remembered that after returning to his room that night, he didn't go to sleep, but instead took a shower.

Then I heard from the servant that Zhang Ran and his two siblings had already returned home. After taking a bath, I was starving. I was only ten years old at the time and was growing. When I got hungry, I went to the kitchen to find something to eat. After eating until my stomach was round, I was wide awake. I tossed and turned in bed and couldn't fall asleep. So I went out for a walk to digest my food and happened to run into my father returning to the backyard.

Only after asking did I learn that he had just escorted Jin Changge and his sister back, and after that...

As Qin Ze pondered, he gradually recalled what his father had said after they met.

At this moment, seeing Qin Ze remain silent, Jin Changge couldn't help but ask, "Is there? If not, then forget it. I was just asking casually."

"Hehe." At this moment, Qin Ze suddenly chuckled.

"Hmm?" The girl looked at him curiously, not understanding why he was laughing.

Qin Ze smiled without saying a word, instead shaking his head as if he had remembered something interesting.

"What are you laughing at?" The two sat facing each other. The girl, both curious and puzzled, nudged Qin Ze and began to press him for an answer.

Qin Ze remained silent, a cryptic smile on his face.

"Did you remember? You must have said something, right? Say something!" The girl's impatience made her urge him on, and she shook Qin Ze's body vigorously, almost pushing him off the chair.

"Yes, he did speak."

Just then, a crisp "snap" sounded.

The sword fell to the ground, and the girl was stunned. Her pushing hands stopped.

Qin Ze bent down and picked up the sword that had fallen from his body.

Then, he stood up, his smile fading, and solemnly addressed the girl:

"But there's something I feel I really need to make clear to you."

Faced with Qin Ze's sudden change from a smile to a solemn expression, the girl's heart skipped a beat. Knowing that what he was saying must be extremely important, she was momentarily at a loss for words: "Wh...what?"

“That night you came to fight and punched me. It wasn’t because I was badly skilled, but because my father suddenly shouted, which distracted me, and that’s why you punched me in the face.”

Upon hearing this, the girl's helplessness vanished instantly. She had thought it was something important, but it turned out that Qin Ze was only talking about this trivial matter.
