Chapter 645 Tenderness

Qin Ze lay on the table, feeling dizzy and disoriented. At times, he felt extremely heavy, but at other times, he felt as if he were floating on clouds.

His mind was buzzing non-stop. He wanted to get up and go back to his room to rest, but he didn't want to move at all. He just wanted to lie down and sleep.

Just as my thoughts were racing, a voice suddenly reached my ears:

"Ze'er, besides Zisheng, have any other women made clothes for you?"

Without hesitation, Qin Ze replied, "Yes."

Lin Wan, who was asking the question, was taken aback. She had wanted her son to know how good Zhang Zisheng was, but she never expected her son to say that there were other people involved. Could it be that the princess had also made clothes for him? But she had clearly heard that the princess only liked to practice martial arts and didn't know anything about women's affairs.

Could it be that this kid has another woman? Lin Wan frowned.

"Who?" she asked sullenly.

Qin Ze raised his face, his eyes still sleepy, and said, "Mother, you..."

"You...you always sew clothes for me, don't you..."

Upon hearing this, Lin Wan rolled her eyes, grabbed his ear, and scolded, "Son, I'll just be blunt."

"The reason why Zisheng is still unmarried is because she has your heart set on you, but she is a shy girl, do you understand?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Ze lowered his face again: "Mother... how did you know?"

Lin Wan turned her head and glanced at Zhang Zisheng, who was leaning back in her chair and seemed to have fallen asleep, then leaned over to Qin Ze and said:

"I already asked."

"She said it herself."

Qin Ze responded with an "Oh".

"Oh what? What are you thinking?" Lin Wan pressed.

"I...I..." Qin Ze stammered.

"explain!"

"I...I'm sleepy, Mother, let's talk about it tomorrow." Qin Ze waved his hand with difficulty.

"What tomorrow? Don't play dumb with me! You brat, you're probably thinking of accepting anyone who comes your way! Humph." Lin Wan grabbed his ear and lifted Qin Ze's face.

Qin Ze's face turned red, and he said with his eyes half open, "Oh, Mother, I'm not that kind of person."

"I would never fall in love with every girl I see; saying I'm indiscriminate in my love life is too harsh."

Lin Wan retorted angrily, "Then what are your plans?"

"Of course I...want...want..." Qin Ze said, enunciating each word clearly.

Seeing that he admitted it, Lin Wan smiled broadly, and then asked, "Since that's the case, then let me ask you, who do you want to make empress?"

"Ah... Mother, let's talk about it later." Qin Ze's scalp tingled.

"Tell me now, tell me what's on your mind." Lin Wan pressed on relentlessly, determined to get to the bottom of things.

After a few moments of silence, Qin Ze hesitated before speaking, "I'm still undecided. I haven't thought about this part yet."

Upon hearing this, Lin Wan immediately decided to help her son make the decision, and said, "Ze'er, then this time, your mother will help you make a decision. In my opinion..."

Before she could finish speaking, a dreamlike voice suddenly came from the side: "Auntie... I need to go back to the manor... Please help me... prepare a sedan chair."

Lin Wan turned her head and saw Zhang Zisheng half-opening his eyes and swaying as he sat up from the chair.

Upon seeing her like this, Lin Wan's heart stirred, and she immediately slapped Qin Ze's head, who was slumped over the table, saying, "Go and help him up."

The slap was quite forceful. Qin Ze, who was initially dizzy, was somewhat sobered up by the slap. He sat up, shook his head, and looked at Zhang Zisheng.

"Sister Zisheng, are you alright?" He stood up unsteadily and walked towards Zhang Zisheng.

"I'm just dizzy," Zhang Zisheng said softly, lowering her head as Qin Ze approached.

"Don't go back, just rest here for the night," Lin Wan said.

Qin Ze, who had already reached Zhang Zisheng's side, grabbed her arm and said, "It's alright, Sister Zisheng. Stay here for the night, and I'll take you home tomorrow after you sober up."

"That's exactly what I wanted too..."

Before he could finish speaking, Qin Ze suddenly felt Zhang Zisheng grip his arm tightly. At the same time, a barely audible voice rang out, coming from Zhang Zisheng herself.

He froze for a moment, then turned to look at his mother.

"What's wrong?" Lin Wan asked as she stood up.

"Mother, you should go back to your room and rest. I'll take care of Sister Zisheng," Qin Ze said.

Lin Wan was puzzled at first, but then she was delighted. She gave Qin Ze a look and said, "Okay, take good care of her." After saying that, she left the house, looking back every few steps.

As soon as she left, Zhang Zisheng slumped back into the chair.

"Is there any water?" she asked, panting softly.

"Yes." Qin Ze turned around, picked up the kettle on the table, and held it to Zhang Zisheng's lips. She seemed very thirsty and drank several mouthfuls from the spout.

"Drink slowly," Qin Ze gently patted her back.

After a few sips of water, Zhang Zisheng seemed to have recovered quite a bit. She held up her hands and said, "Pour some water into my palm."

"Okay." Qin Ze agreed and poured some water into her palm.

Zhang Zisheng splashed the water on her face, then let out a long sigh of relief.

Throughout the entire process, Qin Ze stared blankly at her.

"What are you looking at? Sober up a bit." Zhang Zisheng seemed to have sobered up quite a bit, and seeing Qin Ze staring blankly at her, she couldn't help but smile.

The girl didn't have the striking beauty of Jin Changge, but her face, covered in water droplets, was flushed, and her sudden smile still made Qin Ze's heart flutter.

Immediately, Qin Ze sat back in his chair, tilted his head back, and poured the remaining water from the kettle directly onto his face.

The cool water washed over his face, and his drowsy mind cleared up considerably. As Qin Ze wiped the water droplets from his face, a slender, pale hand reached out with a towel.

"Who told you to pour it directly on your face like that? You've gotten your clothes all wet." Zhang Zisheng stood up and walked to Qin Ze's side, gently wiping his face with the towel she carried with her.

Qin Ze closed his eyes and quietly let her wipe him.

"Is the princess... alright?" Zhang Zisheng asked softly out of the blue.

"It's alright." Qin Ze understood what she meant by asking.

“Sometimes, the stronger a person appears, the more fragile they are inside. After such a huge change, the princess... perhaps she is feeling..." Zhang Zisheng sighed softly.

"That's right. But she cried several times in Nangang before, so the knot in her heart should have been untied quite a bit," Qin Ze said softly.

"That's good, but after returning to Jinling this time, she will inevitably be reminded of the past. You should still try to talk to her when you have time."

"That shouldn't be the case. She's straightforward and easygoing," Qin Ze chuckled.

As soon as he finished speaking, he felt a light tap on his forehead.

"That's just your opinion. No matter what, the princess is still a woman. When you're around her, she'll naturally act carefree and easygoing, but when she's alone, she's bound to overthink things," Zhang Zisheng said reproachfully.

"You've thought of everything so thoroughly, what about you?" Qin Ze looked up at her.
