"So when will your fleet be able to return?" Lucat asked Pam.
Pam muttered, "I don't know."
"The commander only ordered us to stay here and wait for their return, without specifying a time. After all, the fleet arrived very suddenly, and opportunities at sea are fleeting, so the commander immediately led the fleet to chase after them."
Clemento, who was listening nearby, was both angry and frustrated, but he could only shake his head helplessly: "This is not the first time that Yan Guojia has used such a trick."
“Last time in the South China Sea, they used the same method to lure our fleet into pursuit, and then we were caught in the firing range of their naval port. You all know what happened next…” He looked at Lucate as he said this.
Lucat nodded in agreement, then looked at Pam and sighed softly: "As someone who experienced that battle firsthand, I can tell you that this might not be a war opportunity; the most likely explanation is a conspiracy by the Yan people."
“Anyone who underestimates their cunning and deceit will pay a heavy price,” he said, looking around at the crowd.
No one else commented, except Federich, who scoffed at the remark.
Pam frowned and said, "No, the commander must have his reasons for leading the fleet in pursuit."
“This is not the coastal waters of Yan Kingdom, but the Bohr Sea. Yan Kingdom’s reach is not that far. They could not possibly set up a trap in this vast sea area.”
"Even if they have far more than those warships, the commander and his men will be able to see them at sea, so if an insurmountable crisis arises, they can simply turn back and escape danger."
Clemento nodded slightly: "That's true."
“As long as one is not foolish enough to stay at sea and engage them in direct combat, then avoiding battle is entirely possible.”
"But no matter what, your actions this time were too reckless. You should have waited until we arrived before sailing to Yan together. That way, no matter what despicable means the Yan people used, they would not succeed."
Pam said with some dissatisfaction, "Instead of criticizing our actions, you should reflect on why you were so late."
"Did that storm really stop you? If you had arrived a few days earlier, we could not only have regrouped, but we could have directly crushed the Yan Kingdom fleet that was coming!"
Before he finished speaking, Federich glared at Pam and said, "Boy, what is a storm to our fleet? We only suffered negligible minor damage."
"Then why are you so late?" Pam did not avoid Federich's fierce gaze and glared back angrily.
Federich was furious at the look in his eyes. If it weren't for the fact that he was a member of the Delta Federation, he would have shot this arrogant brat in the head!
He turned to look at Lucat and said angrily:
"Lucart, I think you should say a few words!"
Lucat bowed his head and said, "I'm sorry, our warships encountered some minor problems en route, which caused a few days' delay, but fortunately the problem has been almost resolved."
“You’d better get rid of it completely!” Federich said coldly.
Leto, who was listening in, blushed and was about to speak when Lucate tugged at his arm.
“Alright, let’s not dwell on what’s already happened. It’s all in the past. As long as the second half of the voyage isn’t affected, that’s fine,” Clemento said, stepping forward.
"snort!"
Federich crossed his arms and snorted coldly, still filled with resentment.
During the meeting on the Roman Islands, he decided to temporarily set aside his grievances with the Shenglu people and end the war against Yan first. This was the biggest concession he had made for the sake of the overall situation.
However, the behavior of the Sheng Lu people during the subsequent voyage greatly angered him.
Their fleet encountered numerous problems, from leaky ship cabins to people falling ill due to spoiled food. These various issues prevented the Rose Fleet from sailing at all.
Marshal Lucat was even more fussy and womanly; whenever his warships encountered problems, he would order the entire fleet to slow down.
During the subsequent storm, he ordered all warships to undergo extremely tedious inspections after the storm ended, causing them to wait unnecessarily for several more days before continuing their voyage.
These actions forced the Sassi and Hunnic fleets to slow down and wait for them, which is why they were delayed until today when they finally arrived at Chalme Island.
Federich couldn't understand the various problems exhibited by the Rose Fleet on this voyage. They had spent the most time on pre-war preparations, yet the final result was so terrible.
So once they reach the waters near Yan Kingdom, how much of a role will this allied force be able to play in the subsequent joint operations?
Now that the Federation fleet has disappeared while pursuing the Yan Kingdom's fleet, it is unable to complete its integration. So, isn't this joint operation just a disorganized mess?
Federich grew angrier the more he thought about it, and his arms, which he was holding, unconsciously clenched into fists.
At this moment, Lucat spoke up again:
"Since your fleet hasn't returned yet, let's wait a little longer."
“Once your fleet returns to Charme Island, we’ll sail together to Yan Kingdom. We’re already halfway there, so a few more days won’t make a difference.” He first looked at Pam, then turned his gaze to the others.
Upon hearing this, Federich's forehead veins bulged, but he didn't utter a sound. Instead, he suppressed his anger and pursed his lips.
Clemento stroked his chin, lost in thought, while his vice-marshal Winston whispered something in his ear.
