Chapter 671 Ironclad Ship

At the Roman Island meeting on the day of departure, Clemento set a tactical objective against the Yan Kingdom: to destroy as many warships as the Yan Kingdom sent, and to retaliate against the enemy in the same way!

As time went by, events unfolded exactly as Clemento had anticipated. During the pursuit by the allied fleet, more enemy warships gradually appeared on the sea, while the earlier warships seemed to have been incorporated into the enemy fleet.

Furthermore, the enemy warships appearing in the field of vision began to become clearer.

This means that with the advantage of wind direction, our side has closed the distance, and the enemy has not chosen to turn around and retreat, but... is waiting.

Yes, they waited. They didn't run away, nor did they confront them; it was more like they dropped anchor and waited there.

Clemento keenly noticed the problem, and so he was now straining his eyes to peer at the enemy warships through binoculars.

Those were massive sailing warships. From a distance, Clemento judged them to be at least the size of first-class warships, but that wasn't surprising; he had seen them before.

The strange thing is that the sails on the masts of these warships have been folded up!

He could hardly believe his eyes!

The enemy had actually lowered their sails just before the big battle! And that wasn't all; they seemed to have fewer masts, and even when they did raise their sails, they were different from the Yan Kingdom warships we saw last time.

"What are you up to? What trick are you trying to pull this time?"

Clemento murmured something, then his gaze gradually shifted downwards, from the towering mainmast to the hull of the opposing warship.

What comes into view is the ship's hull, gleaming with a metallic sheen.

The instant he saw the ship's hull, Clemento's pupils dilated, and he exclaimed in surprise:

"They...they've armored their ships!"

The sailors beside him also noticed and chimed in, "Yes, Marshal, judging from the enemy ships we've seen so far, it seems they've armored the hulls of every single one of their warships!"

"They brought ironclad warships with them!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Clemento burst into laughter.

Hahahaha!
