"Do you really want to do this, Dingle?"
Inside the command center at Port Bruno, Harbor looked at Dingle with a furrowed brow.
“Yes, that’s how you do it.” Dingle, holding a wooden stick, pointed to the map on the wooden shelf and continued:
“Riegel and Klein have led their troops to the Macedonian arsenal. I think this is a wise decision. The Macedonian arsenal is not only an arsenal, but also an important strategic location for us. It must not be lost. After the Yan people land at Foster Harbor, they will definitely build a landing base around Foster Harbor to provide security for more troops to enter the country.”
Upon hearing this, everyone's faces darkened. Although Foster Port was not as large as Brullow Port, its smaller size meant that the Yan Kingdom, with its superior weaponry, could concentrate its defenses more effectively, making it more difficult to retake Foster Port.
Dingle continued:
"However, once they occupy Foster Harbor, they won't risk attacking our port, it's not worth it. But if they do attack, we don't have many options. Since Foster Harbor has already fallen, we should focus our forces on the Yan people who have already entered the country."
"That's why I said we should send our current troops to other places." At this point, Dingle's gaze fell on Lieutenant General Harbor's face.
Harbor still frowned, and he immediately asked, "But the place you're talking about isn't Foster Harbor. Shouldn't we be trying to retake Foster Harbor at a time like this?"
This is also a question for others, because Dingle said he wanted to completely abandon Foster Harbour and stop fighting for it.
In response to Lieutenant General Harbor's question, Dingle explained:
"Because it's useless."
“Foster Harbor will definitely be heavily guarded by the Yan Kingdom. If we attack it, we will be fighting against their strongest force. Even if we manage to take back Foster Harbor at the cost of huge casualties, they can simply retreat to the sea. And what will they do once they have control of the sea?” Dingle asked, looking at Harbor.
Lieutenant General Harbor rubbed his temples: "They're planning the next attack, and... it doesn't necessarily have to be Foster Harbor; they might go to other ports."
Dingle nodded and said, "Yes, one of the three ports has already fallen. If we drive them out of Foster Harbor, we will be put on the defensive again, and our forces will have to be dispersed again. Then we will be busy dealing with their attacks."
"Instead of doing that, let Foster Harbour be their landing site. Now we have a clear objective."
"And we can roughly judge what the Yan people will do next after they have a landing point."
At this point, Dingle pointed the wooden stick in his hand to the Macedonian military factory marked on the map.
"This will become their target, and if they are aggressive in their tactics, they will not only defend Foster Harbor, but also send troops to attack the Macedonian military factory 20 kilometers away."
Dingle's face darkened. He glanced around at the crowd and then said in a cold voice:
"What we need to do is to gather our forces and annihilate the Yan Kingdom's army that they sent out from Foster Harbor!"
"Before capturing the Macedonian military factory, where can the Yan people, who are advancing deep into enemy territory, defend their positions? Their combat power will be weakened, while we have more operational advantages."
Upon hearing this, everyone understood.
In positional warfare, the attacking side is always at a disadvantage. Attacking Foster Harbor, which is heavily defended, would undoubtedly require a huge price to pay. It would be an extremely difficult siege. However, when attacking an enemy force that is advancing, there is no such thing as positional warfare, and the enemy's advantage would undoubtedly be weakened.
Dingle continued:
"The Macedonian military factory itself has armed forces, and the factory's head, Lieutenant General Davis, is an excellent commander. I believe that with his command abilities, after learning of the fall of Foster Harbor, he will decisively and quickly direct the workers to set up defenses and turn the Macedonian military factory into a fortified position, a military base with a large number of weapons."
Upon hearing this, Harper rested his chin on his hand and said, "Are you that sure?"
Before Dingle could speak, an officer casually said to Harbor, "Lieutenant General Davis once served at the Salibian Military Academy. If I remember correctly... the Chief of Staff came from the Salibian Military Academy." He then shifted his gaze to Dingle's face.
Dingle nodded slowly and said calmly, "Yes, Colonel, you're not mistaken."
“Lieutenant General Davis was one of my professors at the academy.”
"He possesses excellent leadership and command skills, so I am confident that the Macedonian arsenal will become an important stronghold to stop the enemy's advance under his defense."
"Now you should all have a clear understanding of what we're going to do next."
Lieutenant General Habo, no longer having any doubts, replied, "Understood. The Macedonian arsenal will become the new stronghold. If the enemy sets their sights on attacking there, then we must strike them from the rear during their assault."
Dingle nodded and continued, "Yes, we must gather all available forces to carry out an annihilation operation against the enemy and eliminate as many of their existing forces as possible."
"Even if Foster Port falls into their hands, as long as the enemy soldiers coming out of Foster Port are eliminated, and the subsequent support troops from the military region arrive one after another, the port can be recaptured in one fell swoop, and all the Yan people can be driven out."
