Chapter 765 Battle of Macedonia 11

He quickly looked around for Klein, and in a fleeting glance, he hurried toward a small group of people to his left.

The scattered human and horse corpses on the ground were a horrifying sight; just minutes earlier, several artillery shells had landed precisely here.

Miner roared toward that direction:

"How is General Klein?!"

"Boom boom boom!"

No sooner had he shouted than another round of shells rained down, and the sound of explosions rang out again beside him. His warhorse let out a mournful cry and suddenly reared up on its hind legs. Miner could no longer control himself and fell headlong off the horse.

Man and horse fell to the ground almost simultaneously. Miner's ears were ringing, but his body's instincts made him roll on the spot after landing. The musket on his back hurt him, but he didn't have time to care. After rolling, he immediately lay face down to avoid being hit by stray bullets.

In a fleeting glance, he saw a patch of blood on the warhorse's belly. In the next instant, the group of people had scattered, many of them covered in blood, clearly affected by the explosion. Several shell craters had appeared on the ground, and a figure lay beside a warhorse that had collapsed and was convulsing.

"Boom boom boom!"

The sound of explosions was still ringing out. Miner dared not get up and could only crawl forward on the ground, digging into the dirt with his hands.

After climbing less than a meter, Miner could no longer hold back. He suddenly stood up and ran forward madly. Cannonballs fell around him from time to time. He ran faster and faster. When he got close to the warhorse, he leaped and then rolled, landing behind the warhorse.

"call--"

Just a few meters away, yet it felt like a brush with death. Miner's heart was pounding so hard he felt like it would burst out of his chest. He took a deep breath and then quickly and gently turned the person lying on the ground over.

Klein's face, now a bloody mess, appeared before him after being struck in the right eye by shrapnel and his left cheek was ripped open by shrapnel.

Upon seeing that face, Miner shuddered uncontrollably, his face twitching.

“Sir…sir…” he called out, his lips trembling.

The next moment.

A faint groan escaped Klein's lips.

"quick......."

Upon hearing the voice, Miner's eyes lit up with excitement, and he hurriedly said, "Sir, I've brought..."

Klein, his left eye still half-open, groaned weakly:

"Quickly...withdraw the troops."
