Heinrich Military Base, Command Building.
The meeting room on the third floor.
Bang!
"inability!!!"
A heavy slap landed on the thick, sturdy ebony table, followed by a barrage of insults. Harris, standing before the table, looked dejected, his head bowed, powerless to defend himself.
"On the eve of the Empire's New Year, the enemy has forced open our gates. This is a disgrace to us!"
"How dare Gustav go to Salibia to celebrate the New Year? Doesn't he know his troops are as weak as sheep?! As a navy, they can't even defend our territorial waters!"
"From the discovery of the Yan people's whereabouts to the complete loss of control of the sea, less than a week had passed! What was the navy doing? The huge amount of military spending the country has put on them has only produced such a weak and incompetent force? They collapsed at the first blow! They accomplished nothing! They are utterly useless!"
"In just a few days, the Yan people have taken control of our oceans. Does that mean, does that bastard Gustav even realize?!"
Brewster, a towering figure standing at 195 centimeters tall, stood before the conference table, shouting angrily. The officers in front of him all had their heads bowed, their expressions extremely unpleasant.
"Oh! He definitely doesn't know!"
"After all, he only knows how to perform like a theatrical actor in front of the emperor, making those ridiculous and laughable gestures, like a clown to make people laugh."
"Could he possibly know that his troops have been ravaged and trampled upon like prostitutes by the Yan Kingdom?!"
Harris remained silent upon hearing these merciless accusations and curses. Although he did not entirely agree with Brewster's words, he knew that refuting him at this moment would only intensify Brewster's anger.
The supreme commander of the Fourth Army had a unique nickname. The officers privately called him "Volcano." This was not to say that he was as passionate as a flame, but rather to describe his personality as a volcano that could erupt lava at any moment. Whether it was a person or a thing, as long as it angered this "Volcano General," then even if you were standing in front of him, he would definitely say some things that would make you feel ashamed without any mercy.
"Our incompetent navy cannot protect our seas, which makes our ports like women whose skirts have been removed, allowing those damned Yan people to brazenly invade them!"
"This makes me feel ashamed!"
Brewster cursed and spat, his spittle flying everywhere. Even Harris, who was standing across the table from him, got spittle on his face.
Harris looked up and saw Brewster's mouth spewing saliva like an erupting volcano. He thought to himself that Brewster was still the same as before, not much different. Even at this point, he still couldn't resist giving the Navy a good belittling.
Although he had always looked down on Gustav, why should he take his anger out on the entire navy? The navy had done everything in its power to stop the Yan people, but the Yan people had better warships, which was an insurmountable gap. Now that they had all sacrificed themselves, it was too disheartening to say such vicious words to curse them.
Harris couldn't hold back any longer and was about to try to stop him when Brewster suddenly took off his hat and slammed it on the table.
"Without control of the sea, the Yan people will target Foster Harbor. Harris, it's somewhat understandable that you couldn't hold it."
Brewster, who had taken off his hat, was scratching his Mediterranean-style hair. His head, covered in reddish-brown hair, was bald in the middle. Harris glanced at him, then closed his mouth again.
"But Bernhardt has over 100,000 troops. With that force, how could he not defeat the Yan Kingdom's landing forces? I really don't understand how he commanded them. Is it because he's too old? If he's old, he should go back and rest!"
Harris finally couldn't hold back any longer and frowned, saying:
"Sir, let's discuss the immediate matter first."
Distracted by his words, Brewster picked up his hat and put it back on, then plopped down in his chair and said:
"You said that when you left the military factory, the Yan people were preparing to attack. Several days have passed, and everything that was going to happen has happened."
Harris nodded and said, "They are definitely going to attack the arms factory."
Brewster touched his nose with a cold face and said, "The troops I sent out, you said were not strong enough and told them to withdraw."
"Doesn't that mean we have to abandon the military factory?"
Harris took a deep breath and said slowly, "The reinforcements that came from Port Bruno were defeated. We have already learned from this experience, so the troops you send may not be able to relieve the siege of the military factory. Instead, they may get trapped themselves. We have already missed a good opportunity."
"To defeat the Yan Kingdom in one fell swoop, I think we need to deploy the entire army group."
Upon hearing this, Brewster narrowed his eyes and said, "After receiving the urgent message from the military factory, I immediately began to gather troops, but considering the urgency of the situation, I first sent three cavalry divisions to provide support."
“You have personally fought against the Yan people, so I think your suggestion is worth considering. Currently, there are still nine divisions of troops in the base, including various branches of the armed forces. Launching a full-scale attack is indeed the safest approach. However, with too many troops, the marching speed will not be very fast, and this terrible weather has become our biggest obstacle.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Major General Bruber, the infantry division commander standing next to Brewster, chimed in:
"It has been snowing for two days now. Although it is not very heavy and the snow on the road is not very thick, the temperature has dropped a lot, which is indeed a big obstacle for us."
