Chapter 802 Burial Mountain 11

Upon hearing this, Brewster scoffed inwardly.

'This kid seems to lack confidence in my army group and wants to go into the mountains to avoid the risks....'

He gave Dingle a cold glance and said indifferently, "Of course, but although there are some fortifications on Mount Enzo, it's not as warm as here."

Dingle replied, "I understand, sir."

“Then you can go with Verri’s troops. Also…” Brewster pointed to Harris and added:

"And you, Harris, your troops have been mostly wiped out, and there is no suitable position for you to command the battle in my army. You will also go to the mountains with the 35th Division to set up defenses."

"As a garrison commander, I believe you can offer Verri some good advice."

Harris hesitated for a moment before saying, "Sir, I'd like to participate here..."

Before he could finish speaking, Brewster interrupted him sternly, saying, "Subordinates must obey the orders of their superiors. Have you forgotten even the basic requirements of a soldier?"

Harris's expression hardened, and he immediately replied, "Yes, sir, I will follow your instructions."

Brewster looked around and then said in a loud voice, "Alright, everyone, except for the 35th Division, you will fight the enemy with me."

"In my dictionary, Brewster, there is no word for 'lose,' neither in the past nor in the present and future."

"Let's give those bastards a good beating!"

"Yes, sir!" the crowd shouted in unison.

——

It was dusk outside the military supply depot.

“General Verli, I’d like to prepare more weapons and ammunition,” Dingle said as he walked up to Verli.

The soldiers were carrying supplies from the warehouse to the wagons. After the afternoon meeting, Brewster ordered the 35th Division to depart early the next morning, and they were to make preparations for departure tonight.

Upon hearing Dingle's suggestion, Verley nodded and said, "Of course, even if we don't need them, we must make sure we have enough ammunition."

“What we have no shortage of here is ammunition, but... now that the military factory has fallen, I think our army will have to be more careful with its use.” Verley rubbed his temples.

Dingle said in a deep voice, "We need to bring more gunpowder."

Upon hearing this, Verri was somewhat surprised and said, "You don't actually think...?"

Dingle shook his head and interrupted: "No, it's just like you said, we might not need it, but we should at least have enough on hand."

Seeing Dingle's unusually serious expression, Verley suddenly laughed and said, "Alright, bringing more won't be a problem."

"But don't worry, our army will win this battle."

“You agree, Harris,” he said, turning to Harris, who had his arms crossed and a gloomy expression.

Harris was lost in thought and didn't react immediately to the question. He lowered his arm and said apologetically, "Sorry, I was just thinking about something. What did you say?"

Verri laughed and said, "It's nothing, Lieutenant General. Get a good night's sleep tonight. Once we get into the cold mountains, we won't be able to sleep soundly."

Harris couldn't laugh. He said indifferently, "I will never sleep soundly until the enemy is destroyed."

Dingle suddenly stepped forward, gave Harris a deep look, and gently patted him on the shoulder.

"Lieutenant General, that day will come soon."

Harris gave a muffled reply, then looked up at the sky. The sun was about to set, but the moon was already showing its outline in the sky.

A drop of cold liquid suddenly slid down Harris's cheek. He was startled, reached up and wiped his face, his fingertips turning red.

"Cough cough, it's too cold, the wound is hard to scab over, you removed the bandage too early." Dingle said, hunched over, as he walked past Harris and left.

"It's irrelevant."

Harris said something expressionlessly and left with Dingle.

——

Night was falling.

Inside the Yan Army camp.

"Your Majesty, the road ahead is full of traces left by the Goths. It seems they sent troops to the military factory, but turned back halfway." After summarizing the intelligence brought by the scouts, Wu Sihai reported to Qin Ze.

"So this is preparing for a major battle..." Qin Ze pulled his coat tighter around himself and continued:

"The snow hasn't melted yet, so their tracks are easily detectable. We're already very close to the mountains, so we're now in dangerous territory."

"Have the scouts investigate more thoroughly, so we don't encounter any ambushes during our march."

"Yes, Your Majesty," Wu Sihai replied.

Qin Ze then added, "Starting tomorrow, we will increase our troop strength, gradually increasing it along the way. If we want to get through the mountains, that military base is an obstacle we cannot bypass."

“We need to take over their military base as soon as possible and eliminate it. I think things will be much easier after that.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Wu Sihai said, "Mount Enzos is so important that the Goths will probably also deploy their forces there as a key defensive point."

Qin Ze nodded slightly: "That's right. In this weather, controlling the high points of the mountain range already provides a huge advantage. If they deploy all their troops in the mountains, we will need at least hundreds of thousands of people to attack, and even then, it will be difficult to break through Mount Enzos in a short time."

"In short, no matter how they deploy their defenses, it seems that hundreds of thousands of casualties are unavoidable for us this time."
