"Sir, don't be impulsive! Gunshots will give us away." The adjutant who had been following Sylvie quickly advised him after seeing him raise his gun.
Sylvie rolled his eyes. "Would I be that stupid?" Then, he whispered sharply at Tacino:
"Get here right now, I have an important task for you!"
Tachino turned around and saw Sylvia's flushed face, which made his heart skip a beat, but he still slowly walked over.
As Tacino approached, Sylvie suddenly attacked, grabbing him and pulling him to the ground, pressing his knee firmly against his chest, and growling sharply:
"You idiot, if you dare disobey orders and act on your own again, I'll kill you right now!"
Hearing this, and seeing Sylvie's epaulets, Tacino felt a surge of resentment and said in a low voice:
"Hmph, so you take your anger out on me? You should take it out on the people of Yan, not me."
“We shouldn’t have stayed here at all. It was a mistake. Can’t you see what everyone else looks like now? We should get out of here immediately.”
"Shut up! You idiot!" Seeing that he was still not convinced, Sylvie couldn't help but push Tacino's chest hard.
Tachino let out an uncontrollable howl, and the soldiers beside them quickly covered his mouth.
"Don't shout!" Sylvie warned angrily.
Tacino gradually calmed down, and the soldiers released his grip, but then Tacino said plaintively:
"Sir, I'm telling the truth. Ambushing here is not a wise move. Can't you see how strong the Yan people are?"
"Do I need you to remind me?! You idiot?! What you should be doing is fulfilling your duties as a soldier, not sighing and complaining here. How did you even get into the army? You should be at home taking care of your mother!" Sylvie shouted angrily.
Tachino pouted, thinking to himself, "I'd love to go home right now, but would you allow me to leave the group?"
He could think about it, but he dared not say it out loud and provoke Sylvie again. After all, which of the people around him didn't seem like madmen? They didn't seem to care about their own lives at all, only thinking about killing more Yan people. But could such a thing be done so easily?
Even if they were madmen, in Tachino's view, the Yan people were far more insane. When they attacked the military base, they attacked almost without regard for casualties, and no one knew how many people died. But even so, they still managed to take down the military base. Fighting against such a group of madmen, dying on the battlefield was only a matter of time.
The wisest choice would be to avoid war, rather than thinking about continuing to fight them. But Dingle and his men are very confident, as if they can definitely defeat the Yan people here. Don't they know that the consequence of losing is that more people will die here?
Tacchino didn't care whether others lived or died, but he didn't want to die here like this.
Thinking of this, Tachino couldn't help but advise, "Sir, you really need to think this over carefully."
“If the Yan people want to lead their main force into the depths of the mountains, they will have to take the Cornflower Road. We are not far from the main road. The Cornflower Road passes by the river below. If we completely destroy the road there, the Yan people will have to choose those remote and difficult paths to detour. Their marching speed will be greatly slowed down, and their troops will have to be completely dispersed.”
"In this way, we will not encounter any danger and can evacuate at our leisure."
"What do you think, sir? Isn't this a better tactic?"
After hearing this, Sylvie almost laughed in anger, but still kept a straight face and said, "If we wanted to evacuate, we could have just blocked the road into the mountains from the beginning, but we didn't do that. Why do you think that is?"
Still pinned down, Tachino couldn't help but sigh: "That's why I felt from the beginning that we made a mistake. We should have blocked the road decisively and stopped them from going into the mountains."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a sharp "slap" rang out. Unable to contain his anger any longer, Sylvie slapped Tacino across the face, shouting, "You idiot! This is the best battlefield for us to crush them!"
"But you cowardly fellow only think about evacuation. Where do you want to evacuate to? To Bocamia Province? Or to Salivia? Or are you going to hide under the covers and pretend nothing happened? Don't you care about the Yan people entering the country?"
"Once the Enzos Mountains fall under the control of the Yan Kingdom, when will Suenham be able to reclaim them? Do you want the Yan Kingdom to wreak havoc on our territory for years to come?"
A barrage of questions made Tachino blush, and he quickly retorted, "How could that be, sir? We can..."
"What?! What other good ideas can you come up with?" Sylvie finally laughed in exasperation at Tachino's stupid appearance.
“Perhaps… or… anyway, we can slowly think of a way…” Tachino stammered. In fact, he hadn’t thought that much about it. He just wanted to leave the battlefield as soon as possible and hide as far away from the Yan people as possible.
"I bet you're fucking ready to surrender! You spineless coward! You're such a big guy for nothing!" Sylvie pressed his knee down again, spitting all over Tachino's face.
Tachino was so overwhelmed that he could hardly breathe. He gasped, "Sir, you've misunderstood me. I never thought that way."
"As a Goth, I will never give in!"
"But sir, could you please move your foot? I can hardly breathe."
Sylvie glared at him, but still released his knee and scolded:
