Dingle put down the cigarette he was about to drink, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Retired from the military?"
“Yes, Colonel.” Smed’s eyes darted away as he met Dingle’s gaze, then he added, “I only made the decision tonight. I haven’t submitted my discharge request yet, but I think it should be fine…”
“Sure,” Dingle said, much to Smythe’s surprise.
"After fighting for so many years and now being wounded, there's no problem with retiring. The request hasn't been submitted yet, right? When I get back to the Royal Castle, I'll write a letter to the military headquarters and ask them to approve it as soon as possible."
Smed looked at Dingle in astonishment: "You...you think I did this...?"
Before he could finish speaking, Dingle interrupted, "Since you've already made up your mind, then do it. There's no problem with it. I support your decision."

"Let's see if we can open a bakery," Smed said with a hopeful look.
“Good idea, let’s do it. I’ll come and try your cooking later.” Dingle said, taking out his pocket watch and glancing at the time.
“Okay, I’ll give you a discount then,” Smed replied with a smile.
Dingle put away his pocket watch and said, "Then it's settled."
"Go back and rest. Pokel and Huffman probably don't know you've been discharged yet. I think they'll be very happy to see you back."
Smed suddenly blushed and shook his head, saying, "Colonel, I'm not going to the bus stop, I'm going to 28 Tanning Street."
"Are you staying with your relatives in Salibia?"
"Um...no."
"That is? Oh, by the way, there's something else I wanted to ask you. How is the girl you took to the hospital doing now?" Dingle asked.
Before Smed could answer, the carriage window behind him was opened from the inside out, revealing a slightly pale face:
"Sir, are you talking about me?"
